Vca Met Vet West Animal Hospital

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
General Info
VCA Met Vet West Animal Hospital in Pittsburgh provides caring and knowledgeable veterinary services for pets in the area. Their services include Dental Care, Pet Euthanasia, Grooming, Laboratory, Micro Chipping, Surgery and Vaccinations. With a compassionate team that truly understands the important role pets play in families, we strive to promote wellness, address chronic and urgent medical issues. VCA Met Vet West Animal Hospital (Pittsburgh) observes trends in pet behavior over time to implement cutting-edge pet care approaches in Pennsylvania homes. The first visits simply allow the animals to walk around and express their emotions as they desire. Before conducting a physical examination, the veterinary team pays close attention to subtle signs like eye and tail movements as well as changes in gait and responses to pressure. Physical examinations focus on how the pets’ joints move and their hydration levels by checking the weight as well as feeling the gums, hair coat texture, and body temperature. Owners also participate in monitoring by observing the cats’ morning routines, sleep cycles, vocal tendencies and recent behavioural deviations. VCA Met Vet West Animal Hospital offers several treatment plans targeting sudden surgical seasonal and chronic health conditions. Support encompasses lab analysis, diagnostic imaging referrals, infection control, senior care protocols for animals, and recovery checklists that consider emotional factors. Plan organization focuses on an orderly sequence, aiming to minimize stress and keep owners well-informed but not overwhelmed, especially if they manage multiple pets or complex medical cases. Communication is central. Note copies are sent after every visit. Follow-up visits depend on the pets’ progress and not on calendar reminders. Owners are advised to identify signs of regression and be aware of the dog’s readiness to advance. Long-term care programs (Reassurance, pacing choice and scheduling). VCA Met Vet West Animal Hospital provides veterinary services throughout the Pittsburgh region and Pennsylvania. The hospital bases its services on animal behavior and family inputs to create care plans that remain stable and compassionate over time.

I was very disappointed in the veterinarian we got when we had a follow-up visit for removal of stitches when our dog got neutered. Not too sure of the Vets name, and no exaggeration with a cocker spaniel they always have ear problems and when we were getting the stitches removed we asked if the vet could look at our dog's ears and the lady who was prepping the dog prior to the vet entering the exam room, said the vet would probably not be able to and if she did have the time it would be an extra $40 added to our bill. It was a two second task we were already there. I thought that was very rude and un-professional and after that appointment we ended up changing to a closer to home vet that not only will check your dog's ears, toes, teeth and you're only there to get a shot. They're so that is very thorough and doesn't charge for $40 for each new concern or question that you have to get answered. However last night I encountered the other VCA a 24-hour veterinarian hospital in Castle Shannon, and was so impressed with all three employees (2 employees & 1 vet) they were ALL over the top in my opinion! Even answered any question, look anywhere I asked and we're just over and above professional, friendly, and accommodating. I think you need the Castle Shannon staff from last night to work in your Robinson VCA if not take some pointers from The Castle Shannon 24-hour Hospital staff. Read Less

I would not recommend this office. I took my senior cat here for a check up and the vet never once explained what they were doing to her. Whenever we asked a question or how much a procedure would cost, she would say - We'll give you an estimate later. By the time we left the office our bill was almost $500 and my cat was diagnosed with a life threatening infection that would cost us another $1500 - 1700 to cure. After seeking a second opinion, we found out that the procedure would only cost us an average of $700 -including the testing that we had done - almost $1k less that what we were quoted here. I do not recomment, they're only in it for the money. Read Less
