He has taken care of three well-loved family pets for Sam's Hope; Lucky, the pup that came up from the South with heartworm and other health issues, Calypso, a young pup that needed spay surgery, and most recently Callie Sue, currently being treated for an injury to her knee. I took my German puppy to get neutered, the whole time they were very nice and bubbly. They answered all my questions thoroughly and more. They took very good care of my puppy. They called me to inform me the surgery went well which made me feel comforted. The recovery time was very fast and she is happier than ever :) I will definitely be taking my other puppy here. Dr. Silberman is very compassionate, caring and knowledgeable with animals.  He is very kind, takes his time to help you understand.   I never feel like I'm rushed out the door.  Excellent Vet.  I highly recommend him to anyone with any kind of a pet.  He loves your pet, no matter what it is, just as much as you do.  Love the friendly staff and vet tech. also. The staff was great on my initial visit provided lots of information great with the dogs. I was told to try a med for one of my dogs for a month and contact with results at the 30 day mark. I called on the 29th day and  I was told I needed to wait the full 30 days and to buy another 15 pills of the same dose, and condescendingly was given a pamphlet on the importance of waiting 30 days when trying new medication (I DID WAIT 30 FUCKING DAYS) I was made to feel as if I wasn't following instructions. My feelings on this are 1) I followed the specific instructions and 2) I'm being told to pay for more of something that isn't working the way the doctor and I initially discussed ... When I caved and went in to get the refill the office whose hours are posted on the door as open was closed... I am extremely disappointed my initial visit was so great and the later has been highly disappointing. Read Less

I had my cat spayed here. A friend recommended after her skunk had surgery here as well. In person, the receptionist was friendly, helpful and accommodating. The vet tech that came out to get my cat was also very friendly and knowledgeable. I was charged a $15 fee because my cat was in heat at the time of her spay, which I think is reasonable. They let me know that when they called to tell me my cat made it out of surgery.The incision was small and appears to have healed well. So I believe the doctor did a very good job. I also opted to have her nails cut while she was under anesthesia. They did a very good job with that too.They do send your pet home the same day. Just be sure to keep an eye on your animal when you get home. She was pretty much fully over the anesthesia upon leaving, and we were told to give her additional pain medicine that we purchased at 8pm. That pain medicine made her so tired that she fell asleep with her head in her water bowl. Luckily, she was wearing a cone and didn't inhale any water. I do not think this is the fault of the clinic at all. But I just want to warn to keep an eye out after you get home, especially if giving additional pain medicine. Read Less

my name is lynne, i own and run 'safari parties". i have many exotic animals, some large , some small, some very expensive , some not so. but all are loved and cared for just the same. i would trust my extended family to only the highest quality vet and assistants. i am not at the vet office to make best friends, i am there for the best care . i am licensed by the pa game and the usda , they check my vet records. i have been in business for over 28 yrs. i have a few vets . all my vets i consider out standing in care giving. i have looked around and researched. affordable clinic is a small hospital, with 1 vet, 1 vet tech. and one receptionist. they have much to deal with, the animal comes first. the affordable clinic's excellence is up to all standards of any non-affordable animal hospital. i also have vets a few mins. from me on the "main line". i drive much over an hour to the affordable clinic. i read some complaints of charging extra if you pick your pet up late. they all do ! the staff would like to go home after work. charging a late fee encourages people to be responsible and considerate. i have found affordable clinic to be fair, accommodating, understanding, comforting , professional, friendly and AFFORDABLE !!! hence the name. they don't just do spay and neuter . i have trusted them with my animal family for a variety of issues. like an old fruit bat with arthritis, an african serval wild cat with a lump, a fennec african fox with inverted eye lids he had on all lids from birth, prairie dog and skunks who needed dental work; oh yes ....spay and neuter of many of my skunks. i highly recommend this clinic ....and have !Read Less

I can honestly say I will NEVER recommend this clinic to anyone- simply for the reason that the staff is RUDE! I had a bad experience from the beginning with this clinic. I took my dog to another vet and received WAY better care and respect from the staff. When I told the clinic that I had taken my dog elsewhere, they sent a snappy and childish response. Even if my dog's surgery and after care had gone fine, I would still not recommend this place based on the attitude of the staff.  They do not seem to take criticism well and respond rudely and unprofessionally instead of simply apologizing.And if you are not aware- Diane D. is the owner's wife, which shows that they are childish and unprofessional and can not admit that they're not perfect! I used these establishment because that is what was set up with when we adopted.  I did not get to talk to the doctor and was handed a bunch of papers and medicine from the receptionist.  The receptionist does not possess people skills whatsoever and is very nasty when she is asked more questions than she is willing to give answers.  They will charge you for not being there at 5 pm to pick your pet up and that is okay.  But one should not be intimidated for being there at 4:45 pm.     I took my pet to a doctor who talked to me about was going on with my pet's body and what to expect.  She explained everything in a kind and caring way. I found a stray kitten and I took her here to get spayed and shots and I wanted to learn more about getting her de-clawed (that's what we always did when I was a kid...). The 2 women made me feel like a terrible human being to even consider de-clawing my kitten. While they did have a lot of useful information about it, which did end up changing my mind, the way they talked to me was not the best way to approach it, in my opinion. I feel like if they are that passionate about not de-clawing cats, they should not offer that service. In addition to that, they asked if I wanted an E-collar and pain meds for my kitten, which I read in the paperwork that was not a requirement, and I said no and she replied "Spaying is like a hysterectomy for a woman...." So then I felt forced to purchase both. If it's such a big deal, the meds and the collar should be a requirement. They seem to be very opinionated here and while the prices are low, I don't feel right being treated like I'm being inhumane to my kitten. Read Less
