Brem going to see Dr Lee and Dr Athens for all my pets for over 20 years.here is a picture of my corgi,they have fought and spoken to me about the undercoat of his hair who's is sometimes 3 undercoats.i needed a special shampoo to keep him shed free and sweat free as well as healthy.them knots don't show up on him long as I listen and take good care of him. Himalayan cats in the past are certainly well with them knots and shedding,yet who needs a groomer when you listen well to a great vet like Dr Lee and Dr Athen.pershen cats,and all sorts of Dogs.I NEVER KEPT THEM TOGETHER.ive been coming to Prospect Park Vet over 20 Years,and I would Never go Anywhere Else!...as I Leave the Office,I take a business card or two.Because There's always Somebody I Run into who needs a Great Vet!and I garontee they will Never Go NOWHERE ELSE afterwards! Had to put my cat down in Feb. They were very kind and compassionate about my loss. Allowed me to come in the back door so l did not have to wait in the waiting room. Gave me paw prints of my girl and later sent a sympathy card. I have taken my cats there for minor issues and they have been very caring to all of them. Read Less

Great place to take your pet when they need a vet. Very wallet friendy. Had a overnight stay plus surgery only set me back $300. Basic visit starts at $25. Open 7 days per week. Its the only place I take my cats. Dogs are welcome too! Read Less

I've been taking my Minnie here for over 12 years. Dr. Lee and Athen are very thorough and knowledgeable.  The doctors and staff are wonderful with my dog and are very kind to me. They are reasonably priced!  Would highly recommend this Vet Clinic. Read Less

They are good veterinarians and I've been taking my pets there for a good while. But unfortunately I had to switch vets for my dog. I just feel that they really couldn't help my dog. I would recommend them to anyone else. Great doctors. Read Less

I just wanted to add to my previous review! I have a 75 pound Guy names Boomer who is about 8 or 9 years old (he wasn’t mine first, but he is now:-)) He pulled his own tooth out & he had stinky breath! I went yesterday kitty still sick have to wait another day or do to see if he is better, however the Vet and rest of the staff was great. They addressed just the problem. I had a great experience with these guys. My dog has dealt with severe allergies over winter for the last three years. I've been turned away by many vets dismissing it as nothing. They do a great job.I highly recommend. The doctors are all very capable, super nice and have never tried to do more than was necessary. They provide excellent care while looking at what's best for me and my dog. The support staff and techs are all knowledgeable and friendly. Because there are no appointments it can get crowded but they are typically well staffed and things move along pretty quickly. Be patient, it's worth the wait. Read Less

Dr. Lee and his staff were amazing.  Very friendly over the phone and on-site.  I was nervous about getting my little bud snipped, but Dr.Lee answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable about the surgery.  This office is a WALK IN ONLY vet clinic, which has its pros and cons.  Be sure to plan accordingly to get there early when they reopen for the evening shift to beat the rush.  Dr.Lees office also accepted the "Friends of Animals" Neuter certification which made this visit much more affordable for the surgery than other Philly based options.  I believe they only perform surgeries Tuesdays and Thursday's and as a new patient they have to have a pre-checkup before scheduling.  Head there on a Monday night and they will keep your furr baby at the vet overnight for a Tuesday AM surgery.  You'll have your furry friend back in your arms in no time! Took our puppy for the first visit today and I was absolutely amazed by the staff and Dr. Lee. Dr. Lee was extremely informative, being that our puppy is our first dog, and gave us every bit of information, from flee and tick, obiedence, food, to chew toys, that he could give to us. I went to the clinic on Sunday with my dog Grace. The staff and Docs were really nice and seemed to care about the pets that they were taking care of. I had to go back Tuesday to send Grace over the Rainbow Bridge. I can't express the care and compassion that they showed. I would recommend them to anyone. If you want a Great Experience, go there. My parents used to bring our cat & dog there when I was a kid. Now I have been bringing my furbabies there for over 16 years. My first boxers ended up with multiple health issues later in life and the staff was incredibly good with them and me. I would highly recommend them! All the staff is friendly. The doctors and staff are wonderful here. I had to put my fur baby down last night. Everyone is very compassionate.  The prices are really good, especially if you are a senior citizen on a fixed income. I am so happy to bring my boy Jax to the arms of Dr Catona she's an amazing talented caring vet who truly understands him and yes his crazy mama I've had pets go here in the past and she was amazing then and as they say always go with a gut feeling well I took my boxer to her today and she not only listened to my needs but went over what it may or may not be and the fact that no appointment needed is a plus and the cost don't go up if it's emergency or reg visit small place but it's like a prayer answered I can at least relax a little better knowing he's in amazing hands thanks to you and your caring staff for the warm and caring way you handle your clients I am thankful for all you are doing for my Furbaby God Bless you and your entire staff. Our poor kitty,Tux, thought it would be fun to play with fishing line. my son went to reel the line back in, Tux thought it was a toy and got hooked, in the paw, before anyone could stop him. They kept him for the day, knocked him out and was able to remove the hook. No cutting or stitches needed. Tux is back home and already back to annoying his big sister.Read Less

We have a beagle and she has health issues and have taken her to the clinic for most of her treatments and they have been awesome.  We have to rush our dog to Marple hospital one everning and they couldn't figure out what was wrong after $570 dollars later.  At the clinic they knew what was wrong within 10 minutes what the problem was.  They are the best! I was stuck between a rock and a hard spot with our old vet. They told me our dog had fractured his tooth and needed surgery that could possibly fracture his jaw. I went to prospect park for a second opinion and couldnt be more thankful that i did. Turns out he only had a piece of a bone wrapped around his tooth. These days honesty seems to be long forgotten. We had an emergency with our beloved PitBull Cheyenne, had to put her down. It was late in the day, she was having bad seizures. The folks here took us in right away and made this a lot easier for us, and Cheyenne. She was suffering terribly and at the end of her life. I just wants to say these doctors are wonderful! my parents have always brought our animals here since before i can remember! Now i have my own fur babies (2 cats and 2 dogs) this is the only place ill go! My youngest baby gru has been super sick with kidney problems since november. He just had surgery yesterday and i can pick him up today! The vets here (ive seen all of them) are the best around.. they truly care for my babies as much as i do! They are also super affordable and try to keep everything as cheap as possible.. These guys used to be good and I'm not sure what happened. Several scenarios as of recently have made me think twice about them. First off, my mother in law brought her cat here who was continuously sick and spent thousands of dollars over a few years and found out after finally getting a second opinion, that she had a cleft pallet. Prospect Park missed this how? Stoney Creek found this within 5 minutes of first examining her. Our 2 friends over the last few weeks have brought their cat in for a UTI, after several visits and hundreds of dollars, PP somehow missed that he was blocked up and had to get emergency surgery last night at Old Marple, now he's ok. FInally our one dog was starting to lick his paws constantly. After several visits and just being told "it's just allergies, just give him benadryl" he got so bad when we were on vacation, my parents had to take him to their vet and he had a rash and infection. We took him to Stoney Creek our new vet now, and they put him on meds that PP never mentioned to us. PP also failed to tell us he was overdue for 2 vaccinations. They may be less expensive but i do NOT trust them and people need to be aware. They seem to downplay things, causing you to bring your pet back and line their pockets all while misdiagnosing. We have been taking our dogs and cat here for about 5 years. Unfortunately, we have spent a lot of time there this year. I have been really happy with the care our animals have received. They have nighttime hours which is AWESOME and has saves us from missing work or going to an emergency vet. All of their prescriptions are priced very low. Frontline and heartguard are as cheap as mail-order places.  Absolutely would recommend this place! Read Less

They use to have a caring and knowledgeable staff until recently. They lost a lot of good people. The only good one left is Dr. Catona. She is very caring, compassionte and treats each animal as if it were her own. I give her 5 out of 5 stars but as for the rest of them there I only give them 2 out of 5 stars. Its a shame. Read Less
