Staff is great with my baby girl. Treat her with special attention and loving when I have to board her. Vets have great dispositions and knowledgeable. Appreciate how they go the extra mile and will actually get on the floor on the same level with the animals and make them feel comfortable. Courteous and professional service, is what first came to my mind about this great veterinary. First time I went there was a year ago to neuter my kitten. All the information they gave me happened as they predicted. His recovery was amazing, the kitty was his normal self in the evening, and didn't take long to be completely recovered. This time was my first annual in this place for both kitties. I had a great feeling when making the appointment, as the person making it was extremely courteous with me, even taking time to check if my previous vet had sent them the paperwork. The appointment itself was stressless, careful, quick, and precise. Their prices are in a normal range with others in the region. In summary, a completely good experience. Thank you! Read Less

Brought in my 8 month old kitten for a Spay with Dr. McMahon on 4/25/17. The day after the spay she was not acting herself, not playing. The next few days she was hardly eating, and began meowing a lot. We knew this wasn't normal behavior. We brought our kitten back to Dr. McMahon on Wednesday night 5/3/17 she suggested we do Subcutaneous fluid in the neck, Antibiotic shot, Pain medication, give that a try. Hysterectomy is a major surgery she could just be in pain. We could do blood test, but lets see how she does the next 2-3 days. Friday 5/5/17 I leave for work and kitten is meowing even more. I get home and she seems lethargic, fading in and out. We took her this time to Quakertown. They immediately Hospitalized her! Did a Blood test, told us she was DYING, Anemic, Dehydrated, had failure of Kidneys and Liver. We spent an additional $700 dollars, had her hospitalized 2 days, to be told there is nothing they can do. The Vet suggested euthanizing her to end her pain and suffering. All of this b/c of a SPAY! We have learned the reason for all of this is because Pleasant Valley did not give her Fluids while she was getting spayed (We weren't informed this was optional?), or suggest a Pre-operative blood test (AGAIN, DIDN'T KNOW). If I had that blood test I could prove she was in good health prior to this surgery. I am sad this Spay cost our little girl her life. This is no coincidence. We bought a puppy March 2006. Pleasant Valley offered a free visit and discount puppy package for shots and neutering. The place looked great but a 2 days after our golden was neutered, he was pushy and soar. Never sent home with antibiotics. I took him back, questioned the antibiotics or lack of. They said this is the way they do it. They put a cream on it and gave us cream. 2 days later his leg was hard as a rock swollen. Valley central could not help but made arrangements at University of Penn. They were waiting for us. He was admitted. $8,000. Several days, came home with open area to close on its own. Wright Vet Bethlehem took over his care. Several hundred dollars more. Few more check.ups at Penn. 2 1/2 months later our 11 month old puppy was OK. No thanks to Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital! University of Pennsylvania is awesome. EXPENSIVE but amazing. We just couldn't let our new up puppy die because of them! Read Less

This vet is amazing!!! I recently had an emergency with my dog over the holidays and they took her in right away! Like with in the hour! She had a foreign body in her stomach that needed to be removed and they worked with me so that I could have the surgery done. They truly care about your pet and want to do what's best for them. They are the nicest people, well educated, and super friendly and helpful! I live a half an hour away from this vet, I could definitely find closer places to go, but I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else. I've even recommended them to family who Live even farther away and they drive the distance to go here as well. I trust the staff and you can tell they truly care about you as a client. I have been taking my dogs and litters of puppies to Pleasant Valley Animal hospital for SEVERAL years. My entire family takes all of their pets there, and LOVES the service!! I have had nothing but EXCELLENT service from their staff, and all the Veternarians that work there. Nicole Uranko (DMV) is by far the BEST verterianarian I have ever had, or could ask for!!! I truly believe that there isn't a single problem she can't solve. Nicole, as well as all the staff members put the animals FIRST! I HIGHLY recommend Pleasant Valley to anyone and everyone who has a pet that they love!!! I am so thankful for the entire staff at Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital. I brought my Maltese in for a physical because I had some concerns. She had dropped a lot of weight and wasn't quite herself. They gave her a lepto shot (something a small dog should not get). Then they did blood work showing an increase in her liver enzymes. We immediately scheduled an ultrasound the next day at Hope. The ultrasound did not give definitive answers. I did ask the vet if the sudden muscle weakness could be due to the shot. He wasn't sure but said he would not have vaccinated a dog in her condition. I called PV the next day and asked them. They said no it wasn't from the shot. I waited until Thursday to get the ultrasound results from PV. I knew we were to start antibiotics but it took until then for the meds to be determined. We started them that day. My dog stopped eating the next day. I called again and they said to keep using the antibiotic and see if it gets better. I mentioned the shot again and was told no impact on this. Monday I call because she is still not eating. We stop antibiotics and see if that's a cause. She eats a little food but not enough on Tuesday of this week. I call first thing wed morning. They see her right away and tell my husband to take her home to die. There's nothing to do. He asked for a referral to vet Central but they said it wasn't worth it. I took care of her all day and night and she improved slightly. We took her to another vet who immediately sent us to vet Central. The dr at vet Central does not understand why a lepto shot was given and said her present state is due to vaccinating her while there may have been an underlying issue. She is on supportive care. The outcome is unknown but this was her only shot. I never had a bad experience there in ten years. It appears this last visit may kill my dog.Read Less

They gave me my dog back sick and got all my other puppies sick! They lied about the paperwork they gave me which stated treated for diarrhea and were nothing but rude! All my dogs suffered from dog flu, it cost me a fortune to get every one sick! They not acknowledging any fault of theirs, and they even got rude over the phone and said send them a copy of their own paperwork! It cost me a ton of money to get all my dogs back to health! If I could give no stars I would!!! Very rude office manager when they encounter issues with their clients. They refused to contact my vet and even give me a refill of the medication for my dogs! Obviously all about money!! What a horrible experience, please be careful especially households with multiple dogs!! They do not care !!! Read Less

We brought our dog in for a visit in May for incontinence issues. We expressed our concerns given his age (11.5) and breed history. We were given antibiotics and sent on our way. Five months later our dog is dead. A simple xray at Valley Central on Friday morning revealed a huge mass in his abdomen. Could a proper diagnosis in May have given our dog more life? We shall never know. He is gone. This isn't the first dog we have lost. Three years ago we lost our 5 year old. We brought her in time and time again with issues; constant coughing, runny nose, what we thought were seizures. Again, no real concern expressed. Meds and on your way. The last time we brought her in, her lungs were full of fluid, she had to be rushed to Valley Central and she was gone less than 24 hours later. The docs at Valley Central told us her symptoms should have been taken more seriously. A dog doesn't get sick like that for no reason. Our dogs had never been to another vet. Although the staff here is nice, I can no longer trust my babies to this facility. I will never bring another animal here.Read Less

My family has brought their pets to Pleasant Valley since the 80s and I have been a loyal customer with my own pets since 2008. I refer this Vet to all of my friends who are getting pets. Most recently their staff and doctors stayed late and I rushed my dog there right at 5pm to get a laceration sewn. No extra charge. I kennelled my dog here for three days. When I picked him up, he smelled so terrible and his bedding smelled absolutely revolting. it was so bad, I could have wretched. Since I'm somewhat of a clean freak, both he and his linens got dropped off at the kennel clean. This unbearable stench left me to ponder just what goes on here, and none of the conclusions I drew were good ones. Did my dog marinate in his own waste? I shudder to think. I would not board my pet here again.Additionally, if you use the veterinarian services, they'll try to push all kinds of services and peripherals on you. It's very unnerving and makes one feel like a cash cow being utilized to keep the compound afloat financially. Read Less

RUN and don't look back. Do not trust these people with your pets. I know many horror stories of this place and my story is the worst. I took my 6 month old puppy there to be neutured. He took a heart attack on the table during the procedure. They told me to come and get him because they really were not a hospital. They claim to be a hospital but they are not. I had to take my puppy to another vet. He spent 5 days struggling for his life. These people never offered to help me with the medical costs from the other vet. If I had known they were not an animal hospital I would have taken my puppy to another vet. They also never offered for preliminary blood tests to be done before the operation. Read Less

This is the best vet office I've been to yet! My little bulldog had a visit with Dr. Nicole and she was so thorough, taking the time to explain everything to me, why certain tests were needed, answering my questions. She didn't prescribe anything too outlandish like some vets, either. She was gentle and nice with my dog, giving him treats and making the shots quick and easy. I had a harrowing experience with Durham Valley Vets, so i wasn't expecting the staff to be as kind and courteous as they were! No one tried to rush me out, and estimates for the procedure my dog needed (neuter) were written up promptly and descriptively, with even the most minute details/costs outlined. I have been a loyal patient since 2005 when I bought my first best friend, Roxy the Boxer. Living in Kutztown for 3 years we continuously came to Pleasant Valley for her care. After moving out of the area we have been in Philadelphia since 2008 and there adopted another Boxer, Colby who we also took up to Pleasant Valley for care. Worried about adopting this guy we knew that the doctors there would give us great guidance and a good first time check up -- which they did. They were even able to help us with his malnutrition and his age. We are so very happy to this day with the care for our two babies. The 2 Hour drive for our vet visits is nothing compared to the service and care we receive at Pleasant Valley and would never consider even looking for a vet close by. Whether it be calling for guidance, coming in for a routine visit, or coming up for any other need the staff, and doctors at Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital are 5 stars!! Wonderful care given to my two labrador retrievers. My 13-yr old lab had nerve damage which created the inability to stand or walk. I took him to therapy once a week for 8 weeks in the Anwell Center of Pleasant Valley where Matt Puchat provided excellent rehab for my lab. My lab is now walking and is 15 yrs old. I've taken my other lab to Pleasant Valley for a couple problems she had and the staff is friendly and professional. I highly recommend Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital. Read Less

I always take my litter of puppies to pleasant valley and they give all pups a well check up for one low price, most vets charge a fee and then another amount for each pup. They also give health certificates. Appointments are always taken on time and your never left there waiting. Great place highly recommend. Read Less
