I trusted them. However, It was the most horrible experience that I have ever experienced in my life. They didn't even diagnose my dog and prescribed her so many meds. They gave her a shot in her hind area to make her unable to throw up. Her body could not handle all the meds then she could not even throw up. She was in pain due to the meds. They also gave her fluids in her neck when she was not even dehydrated. Since they never even diagnosed her I believe truly a case of malpractice. I had to bring her back the same evening 12 midnight in the rain to be put down. They gave me a courtesy discount to put her down. It was so terrible. My dog was only 7 years old. They also mentioned if all that doesn't work you go buy pepto tablets and try that too. At the time i was trusting all they said to do. My dog so sick from the first round of meds i never even had a chance to give her anything else. the meds they gave were so hard on her that she cried and moaned and suffered. This they did to my beloved companion.I was going to take them to court as I truly believe this was a clear cut case of total lack of proper medical care for my beautiful companion and friend.I was seriously considering suing them . However,My Father said it would be best for me and my family not to rehash the experience in court. Besides, no amount of money could bring my dog back but worse was that she didn't need to suffer. My family decided to let go and let God handle these folks.REST IN PEACE BISSIE Read Less

Had my first experience here with an emergency last night, 9 PM on a Saturday, when my Pomeranian started bleeding and oozing pus from his rectum. I called first, and spoke to Ashley who not only was patient with my hysteria, but made me feel so much better when she explained it may just be infected glands and no, he probably wasn't on his death bed. We did wait a bit to see Dr. French, but 2 other more serious cases came in so I didn't mind waiting (especially after Ashley assured me his problem was easily treatable). She also treated my dog out of my sight, which I appreciated because I knew it was uncomfortable for him. She was very nice, thorough in her explanations, and most importantly, made my baby feel better! We were there for an hour and a half total, and the bill was much less than I was expecting, even with medications. All of the staff were wonderful, and even the other people patients were friendly and showed concern for each other's pets. When you're a pet parent and your fur baby needs immediate medical attention, a little sympathy and being treated with simple common decency goes a long way. That should be the norm, but I've been in situations where it wasn't. You're scared and hate seeing them suffer, and being at the mercy of robotic, uncaring veterinary staff makes it even worse. I was even nervous to come here because of past experiences at another emergency facility and expected the same inconsiderate treatment, but was pleasantly surprised.I don't have one negative thing to say about my experience (although my dog may disagree) and I'm happy knowing they are there 24/7 if we need them! I am extremely upset with the care, or lack thereof, my cat has received here. I first started going to Quakertown Vet after my dog needed an emergency visit for blood in her urine. They didn't push anything on me and the vet I first saw for the regular visit truly seemed caring and compassionate. However I recently took my cat for a huge lump on his tail and am appalled at how they seem to care less about his well being. After a needle biopsy we were told the results would be in early the following week. Over a week no phone call. My husband called only to find out they had the results since the Friday before, and dr. Schmidt, the vet who saw the cat, was "out all week" sick. The dr who called me to apologize for us not getting a call stressed that the report did not have enough info to conclude whether or not it was cancer and she said several times I should just "wait". She said she phoned and emailed the technician who made the report and she had my cats file up "on her board" so I assumed by "wait" she meant wait to hear back from the technician and then she would let me know. She made no other suggestion for treatment and quite honestly I don't see how this woman is entrusted with caring for the lives of animals. Her conclusion was he's older so wait. Not make an appt for a full biopsy, not make an appt for an X-ray, not look for these symptoms if you see them call us right away. Not even a don't worry I will follow up with you as soon as I hear back from the technician. Well it's been several weeks and nothing from either dr. I guess by wait she meant wait until he gets worse because I now see my cat looking like he's losing weight, and the scab on his baseball sized lump isnt looking great, either. I am disgusted with the treatment from these vets and am now left confused about what the best treatment for my cat is. Basically they just said oh well, your cat may or may not die but whatever not much to do about it, who cares, certainly not us. Disgusting. Read Less

The lack of compassion amazes me. My vet suggested to get a ultra sound after the results of her cbc test, being Saturday after we took her to Quakertown Clinic. The staff was nice, the Dr. told us and gave us an estimate of over 4,000 for her to maybe pull through a surgery and then living maybe a year. After we talked we decided to take her home, that is then when the Dr said she wouldn't do it either, after we were ready to leave. So we paid our bill. 395.00. To my surprise I get a bill saying they are going to send me to collections since I did not pay a fee that was not on my bill for 66.74. After multiple messages for a Deb Deily, I was told I have to pay for it or going to collections. The copy of the bill she sent me is the date that we had to put our dog to rest. As if its not hard enough to lose a family member, the rudeness and utter lack of empathy is horrible. Obviously I was just another sucker that they want their money for. And since they want to send me to collections over a bogus charge I will pay it. Just wanted everyone to know how heartless this place can be. Read Less

Overall I'm pleased with my experiences here. Last summer (2016) our cat got ill. After another vet at a different business gave us pause, we tried QVC instead. They accurately diagnosed her. Sadly the prognosis wasn't good long term, but they were accurate, caring and professional. Their treatment gave her a few more weeks with us. It was an expensive situation, but they've been helpful by accepting installments. Which I've heard is rare. I'd like to continue taking our other animals here, but we're not sure if we can emotionally deal with the memories attached from losing our cat. This is the best place around. Everyone, and I mean everyone, there cares about your pet. Dr. Geller is amazing and more. I have been a client for over 15 years - cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, a deer and a flying squirrel. I've had my ups and my downs over the years and they always handled my concerns and problems with kindness and professionalism. Sure it costs money but they are the only place around that let's you pay in installments if you can't afford the bill. I wouldn't trust my beloved pets to anyone else. They are open 24 hrs a day 365 days a year. They don't close. They have cried with me when the news was bad and hugged me when the news was good. They support the local SPCA and rescues. They have a specialist for everything onsite - including  orthopedic, cardiology and opthamology.  I know because I needed them over the years. I was just there today because my dog stopped eating. Dr. Geller was through and genuinely concerned. After the exam and bloodwork was done, all good, he went over everything with us. Never rushed us out. We left feeling better with a plan. Guess what, my dog ate dinner that night after his first dose of meds. I recommend them without any reservation. They are the best around. Thanks Dr. Geller for everything. Read Less

My cat, Rex, was diagnosed with cancer almost a year ago by Dr. Consigli. When you get news like that about your best friend, you are scared, sad, confused, upset and unsure of what the best course of action is to take. Through it all, Dr. Consigli has been amazing. Extremely compassionate, caring and kind to both me and my pet. His explanations are very thorough, he carefully explains all my options and helps me decide what is best to do (and sometimes what is best is to do is nothing - and he will tell me that). He stays in contact with me between visits and makes me feel like he has a personal investment in my cat's well-being. I agree with the previous reviewer about the office staff. Some years ago we were away for a weekend church retreat and left our healthy pup, Clarence at a local, reputable boarding facility we had used before. While away, the very worst thing happened that any of us can imagine when we leave a pet behind. He became sick and died. He rapidly developed stomach bloat and was taken to Quakertown for surgery and died during the procedure. The veterinarian was so nice on the phone. He spent a long time with me explaining it while offering me comfort. He seemed very upset about it himself. When I arrived later that day to pick Clarence up (to take him home to bury), of course I was crying and very upset. I had not even thought to bring my wallet, but the woman at the counter just kept telling me I would have to pay the bill and asking how I planned to take care of it. She was very annoyed and demanding and showed absolutely no compassion. It was unbelievable!Read Less

UPDATE: Since the incident, Quakertown Veterinary Clinic was very quick to contact my family and rectify the issue. I am very pleased with their customer service and the friendly staff we've since encountered. Our dog had his surgery at their facility and has received nothing but amazing care and the staff has done a great job in guiding my family during this time. Thank you to the customer service staff and those in your office committed to making things right, taking the time to address concerns, and turning a crappy situation into an amazing learning experience. And, more importantly, thank you for taking such amazing care of our Cooper :-) We had a terrible accident with our dog on Christmas Day and scrambled to find a place to take him. After being referred by our regular vet, we rushed him down to Quakertown Veterinary Clinic. Keeping in mind we all were distraught at the accident, it was compounded by hostility, impatience, and judgment by the veterinarian on duty and her aid. The front office staff was pleasant, and we are so thankful for that. But there's nothing worse when you have a hurt puppy than a veterinarian who insinuates you're abusing the dog. In my opinion, an emergency veterinarian is NEVER a place people WANT to be. Instead of being treated with compassion and care, they made a terrible situation that much worse. I could throw up just thinking about our experience. I am highly disappointed and, while we are thankful their staff was available to take care of our pup, I hope they realize that their attitudes, judgement, and condescending demeanor will go much further than the help they provided.Read Less

I called the vet and told them one of my kids were sick and I had to pick them up from school so I wasn't going to make my appointment. They suggested I come in as an emergency because it wasn't busy. I said OK. I arrived there at 2 PM and checked in. At 3 PM I could tell it was very busy and it looked like one or two critical emergencies came in. I asked one of the front desk staff if they could just check for an ETA for me. She said she would check and I sat back down. At 3:15 I got back up and asked another staff person if they could check because the first one never got back to me. I told them my dog emergency really wasn't an emergency so I could always come back. She told me she would check. At 3:32 I got up from the bench and walked out with my dog who had been laying there patiently for the last 90 minutes. I think they could have at least given me the courtesy to follow up and let me know how long I was going to be waiting there. I couldn't have been any more thankful for these guys!! My only time having to go here was for an emergency that ended up resulting in having to put my poor chocolate lab down. He was 10 years old and apparently had a brain tumor that we had no idea of until he started seizing and his health declined within a 24 hour period to the point of no return. The staff probably sees plenty of euthanasias daily but it didn't matter to them. They showed my dog and family so much love, care, and time it was overwhelming but they were so so so helpful. When I arrived they already had a stretcher ready at the door and not even 20 minutes later I was sitting down with the doctor. She was honest and straight to the point. My 11 year old cat was suffering from constant sneezing, runny eyes and mucus when I took him to this clinic. They 1st put him under anesthesia for a dental exam/cleaning to eliminate any dental infections. Then he went under again at a later date for a biopsy through his nasal cavity to make sure he had no tumors or cancer. At the end of it all I was left with a $1300 balance (after I already paid about $100-$300 at each previous visit) and his diagnosis was stamped "idiopathetc" which means "of unknown cause". I couldn't pay the remaining balance in full so I was put on a payment plan with them. I then took him to another clinic - this time a small family owned clinic in Stewartsville, NJ and the doc there suggested an allergy shot to see if his symptons subsided. Almost immediately he no longer sneezed, wheezed or had watery eyes. So...my cat has allergies!!! I called Quakertown and explained this to them in hopes that they could work with me on my remaining balance (which is now $600) and after calling and leaving 4 messages within a few of weeks I got a hold of the manager who then asked for his records from the other vet, which I provided, and then she told me the Doc would call me after reviewing it. Doc (Dr. Joe Consigli) calls me, gives me this crap about process of elimination then ended it with "I don't feel there is any justification to reduce the balance". He mentioned process of elimination but he couldn't eliminate the more obvious one before putting an 11 year cat under anesthesia TWICE to check for tumors and cancer? Sad that I actually thought that going to a larger facility like this would care about him, and not about an extra buck. I was a happy and satisfied client, both as a pet owner and as a volunteer for a shelter that referred our own clients to QVC until these past nearly 3 weeks when my pet received negligent care and management is ducking my calls. Here was the update I posted yesterday. Adele has still not returned my call or addressed my concerns a day later:10/17/2016 update: This morning Ducky woke me up while straining in the litter box. He didn't produce anything and vomited twice in rapid succession upon exiting the box. His post-op appointment was scheduled for 3 pm today but I called to tell them what happened and tried to bring him in earlier.Debbie the office manager told me in no uncertain terms that applicants for the Angel Fund for financial assistance were not eligible for emergency access and demanded an additional $1,000 deposit before Ducky was seen at his post-op visit at 3. I was not to come in earlier. When we got there, a new veterinarian Dr. Hoffman saw him. Not his surgeon as originally scheduled. She felt that the external exam looked good and his bladder felt soft so she took him back for an x-ray. His bowels were completely full. I had called twice during the week he was home with me expressing my concern that he was not pooping much, and the front desk personnel just told me to give him a quarter teaspoon of Miralax and keep his appointment on the 17th.I told Dr. Hoffman that the front desk never relayed my concerns to a vet and asked her how often he defecated during his 8 days as an inpatient there. Not a single bowel movement was logged. I expressed my anger to her but agreed that Ducky needed overnight treatment with an enema, stool softener, fluids and pain meds. I told Dr. Hoffman about my application for financial assistance, so she worked up an estimate for $397 and insisted on a $184 deposit. I paid so that they could start treatment, meaning I will have to skip refilling my inhalers this month. Read Less

Must agree with James Partner's review 100% BE CAREFUL! They will not provide estimates and will nickel and dime you. The quality of care is good you just can't afford it. They will talk you into procedures, it's a money maker not about caring for the pets. I am currently researching a new vet. Very frustrated and disappointed that I fell for the exact things the reviewer warns about they are spot on. Some of the vets they have working for them are great so it's a shame, but billing and front desk is disjointed. Took them many visits to get a thing we kept correcting like my name or my pets name accurate in the system. Gives conflicting medicine advice. Just an all around racket. Look elsewhere.Read Less

Our family has always used QVC for our collies and been very happy. They're attentive, responsive, and usually very competent. This week, we took our two 6 year old collies up to visit one of the cornerstone docs of the practice. We waited patiently in the sparsely filled waiting room for our turn and that's when things went south. In the exam room, the technician listed the shots the dogs were due for and advised us that refills would be available for heart worm meds and flea/tick meds. We were told that the doc would be right in. When the doc finally came in, the conversation quickly evolved to a discussion of which meds gave the best rebates... and which version of the meds (Merck vs Pfiizer) would work best! I couldn't believe it. We were there for an annual exam and any vaccinations that were due... and these idiots are arguing about whether the rebate for the 6 month treatment was a better deal than the 12 month! The exam of the dogs (which included a quick look at their teeth, a cursory look in their ears, and a VERY quick listen to their heart/lungs -- 3 minutes MAX) led us into another discussion -- getting their teeth cleaned! A process that includes general anesthesia and one that we've declined ever since starting with their practice many years ago. The teeth cleaning procedure was finally presented as "if you schedule for February, there's a 10% discount" on which the doc and the tech again disagreed on the level of the discount! It felt like we were bringing our car into a shady repair shop. We came for an exam of the dogs... have you noticed anything different? are they happy? how are they eating? pooping? having any physical problems?... These questions were never mentioned. Again, just a cursory, "their weight looks good." (Thank goodness, otherwise they probably would have tried selling us on a Spa Package!) Paying our bill for nearly $700... we were feeling kind of shocked. But then we arrived home to find that they actually gave us the WRONG meds!!!! This meant another 30-minute trip up to get the correct meds and home again. Overall, a very disappointing experience. These were the best vets at one time... and I recommended them many times to people seeing us out and about with our dogs. For me, that ended this week. Read Less

Sorry, QVC you have failed... This review pertains only to the boarding side of this facility... I travel almost constantly with work and want only the best accommodations for my dogs while I'm away...I was referred to Quakertown's boarding facility from my vet...This once the ideal place to take my Huskies - friendly and courteous staff, knowledgeable front desk people and my dogs loved coming here...The staff would have no problem feeding with my own food or giving any needed medications (Frontline/Interceptor)...Because I knew my pets were taken care of, I did not mind the 2 hour drive...Yes - I live just outside of NYC... However, things have changed...Different staff have now taken over the place, who have absolutely no courtesy or professionalism, and my dogs are no longer taken care of...On multiple occasions, I have gotten my dogs back full of energy (which means they weren't walked or ran enough), I was given back full bags of food that were not even opened and have seen my dogs dragged by their leashes...My dogs now hesitated even walking in the front door...I even once received my dogs with matted coats and reeking of feces... I complained to the boarding manager each and every time something wasn't right, but nothing was done...I phoned multiple times to speak with the owner who never returned my messages...I eventually spoke to the owners assistant, who was very polite and professional, as she heard me out on each and every issues, but still my complaints went nowhere...According to her, I am not the only one with these issues...Why can't something be done?!? I spend over $5000 per year on boarding, and my business alone should be sufficient enough to warrant some attention to my concerns...I have given plenty of opportunities to fix these problems, but alas, they weren't...I am no longer making the trip... We are new to house rabbits. She had been limping for days after a high jump (my fault). I called Friday night and got the receptionist who did everything she could to help and appologized that there would be an extra charge on off hours - kind of a Dah to me. Bunny was doing a little better but we kept the Monday appointment. The vet taught us so much in at least half an hour and gave us some anti-inflamatory. To make the bunny comfortable, the whole appointment was spent on the floor. We were thrilled and the appt.was very reasonable. We were convinced to have her spade. She is over 5 and we were afraid of anesthesia at her age. It seems that it was done just in time as she already had many cysts and a precancerous condition. Drs Clark and Mickley (and the surgeon) saved her life, that's all there is to it. She is happier and healthier now than any day since we rescued her. Read Less

Several years ago we took our cat to Qtown Vet Clinic to be neutered. She returned home to us and immediately vomited every food and began to waste. We took her back for IV treatment overnight- they sent her home the next day- but she continued to waste & died a day later. We called them to report this and receieved no condolence. Later we recieved a HUGE bill. I called them quite upset because I felt that our previously very healthy and outgoing cat had been exposed to something while she was there- and that I should not have to pay for the emergency visit that they caused. Their cold response was that we never had her autopsied - interestingly, they conveniently had never mentioned even a possiblility of autopsy when I called to report her death earlier- (now she was buried and it was too late!) Basically- in dealing with a mourning customer- their attitude was not careing- but literally said to me ""YOU CANT PROVE IT?!"" This head vet person had me in such tears- I had never heard of such coldness- especially from one who is supposed to be healiing and caring for animals! I would never recommend taking an animal there- even for an emergency- for apparently the money matters more to them than your pet. Read Less

Which isn't anything on them; it's just personal emotional baggage. Read Less

It's hard to rate this clinic because the doctors here are amazing but the front office staff aren't the greatest. I had an appointment there today at 1:30 PM. She wasn't out for the money (like some vets might be) but for what was best for my dog. I couldn't have been any more thankful. RIP Hershey (6/17/2006 - 12/18/2016).Read Less

Nonetheless I'll pay the 1k plus bill for his idiopatic diagnosis, but you guys will never see me or my 2 other family members and 3 or 4 friends that I have sent your way again. BTW, my kitty is doing well, thanks to Dr. Blease and his team at Common Sense for Animals in Stewartsville, NJ. Read Less

Read Less

Sorry, QVC you have failed... Read Less

I have been going to Quakertown Vet for about 5 years now. My dog has had 2 ACL surgeries done by Dr. Denardo. The staff there are wonderful as well as the doctors. Everyone genuinely cares about the animals. I once had to go in for an emergency visit on New Year's Eve and was expecting a bunch of miserable employees since they were stuck working on a day when most people are at home preparing to celebrate. You would have never known it was a holiday, everyone was very warm and pleasant, which helped me a lot since I was already upset that my dog was ill. Thanks Quakertown Vet for all you do! Read Less

I have been going to Quakertown Vet Clinic for over 10 years. I have brought my cats and dogs there and have had them treated by many of the doctors over time. The staff has gone out of their way so many times. You know that they care about the animals as much as you do. I cant say enough about Dr. Geller, who is very knowledgable and participates in studies to bring new treatments to the clinic. It's a busy clinic but they make you feel as if your pet is the most important. Thank you to all the staff! Read Less

Read Less

Took my sick cat there and he recieved the very best care! He couldn't walk and had stopped eating and drinking. They took the time to teach me all I needed to know to care for him at home. Dr Rupp did physical therapy on him for weeks and he is now able to walk. I never even knew there was such a service for cats. She was more than generous with her time and talent and I will forever be greatful for saving my baby! The time I have spent there I have gotten to know several other Dr's and the rest of the staff could not have been more supportive! Thanks again for saving Boomers life, you are truely amazing! Read Less

Do not go to this vet, I was stupid enough to return. Do not make the same mistake. I had to diagnose my dogs with Bloat and arthritis of the spine and demand X-rays. They also charged me for procedures that were not done. When I complained the ""personal representative"" hung up on me. They also did a Vet check for a horse I bought that I had to return when my farrier told me I could not ride this horse. Also when my dog was dying of bloat the staff was laughing at her X-rays saying they looked like a bobby pillow! I would not go back to this facility if they were the last vets on earth. Read Less
