Had my first experience here with an emergency last night, 9 PM on a Saturday, when my Pomeranian started bleeding and oozing pus from his rectum. I called first, and spoke to Ashley who not only was patient with my hysteria, but made me feel so much better when she explained it may just be infected glands and no, he probably wasn't on his death bed. We did wait a bit to see Dr. French, but 2 other more serious cases came in so I didn't mind waiting (especially after Ashley assured me his problem was easily treatable). She also treated my dog out of my sight, which I appreciated because I knew it was uncomfortable for him. She was very nice, thorough in her explanations, and most importantly, made my baby feel better! We were there for an hour and a half total, and the bill was much less than I was expecting, even with medications. All of the staff were wonderful, and even the other people patients were friendly and showed concern for each other's pets. When you're a pet parent and your fur baby needs immediate medical attention, a little sympathy and being treated with simple common decency goes a long way. That should be the norm, but I've been in situations where it wasn't. You're scared and hate seeing them suffer, and being at the mercy of robotic, uncaring veterinary staff makes it even worse. I was even nervous to come here because of past experiences at another emergency facility and expected the same inconsiderate treatment, but was pleasantly surprised.I don't have one negative thing to say about my experience (although my dog may disagree) and I'm happy knowing they are there 24/7 if we need them!
