Greener Pastures Veterinary Service

Saegertown, Pennsylvania
General Info
Greener Pastures Veterinary Service located in Saegertown provides compassionate and knowledgeable care for local pets. Their services entail Dental Care, Laboratory, Physical Therapy, Surgery, and Ultrasound. With a compassionate team of professionals dedicated to the well-being of pets and the families that love them, the practice emphasizes preventative care, management of chronic conditions, and treatment of acute illnesses. Families from Saegertown, Pennsylvania, depend on Greener Pastures Veterinary Service to initiate intelligent ways of creating an environment for their pets as they undergo examination. During the first few minutes, when no touching is allowed, one simply looks. The staff watch the pets as they try to figure out which corner they will move to while reacting to soft sounds. The diagnostic flow is customized in real-time. If a pet holds its breath during the eye exam or flinches when the neck is touched, the staff must rearrange the visit. Owner input enhances every medical decision by revealing the specifics of a pet’s wind response, sleep space adjustments, and home contact initiation frequency. Greener Pastures Veterinary Service assesses pain modeling and mobility-related health factors and offers important diagnostic evaluations for the environmental allergies’ stabilization program. Services for animals needing recovery time due to trauma or overstimulation can be offered in several time slots or combined with decompression breaks. Time-of-day patterns and home social environmental factors determine how results communication is carried out. The follow-up appointments are scheduled according to the pets’ recovery patterns and not on specific dates. Owners are instructed to observe certain behaviors in the following days, such as a cat’s tendency to avoid certain rooms or delayed stretching and vocal response. Communication avenues are always available for tweakings as routines change and new symptoms slowly emerge. Greener Pastures Veterinary Service offers veterinary care throughout Saegertown and neighboring Pennsylvania regions. We help pet owners listen to what their pets are saying in the silent moments between heartbeats, gestures, and glances.

One of the most emotionally difficult times of any individual responsible for the well being of their animal when approaching quality of life issues is experiencing sudden trauma. It is at these vulnerable stages that we rely on the expertise of local veterinary services to properly guide us. Recently our horse suffered some unknown medical complication and was trapped in freezing conditions unable to right itself in mud as nightfall was fast approaching with freezing temperatures threatening a certain unreasonably prolonged painful death. An emergency call went out to Greener Pastures, whose web site advertises the professional servicing of equine. The on-call emergency vet recommendation was to call 911, huh?!?, as the stature of the responder was insufficient to deal with an animal as large as this. 911 emergency services were dispatched but they were reluctant to aid in this hopeless situation. Meanwhile the animal was shivering in the freezing mud in desperate need of assistance. We were advised to find someone with a tractor as fire-responders abandoned the call. A subsequent call to Greener Pastures followed with a request at this late stage desperate to humanely put the animal down. The response was that If I come out now the cost is about $500 but it would be cheaper to wait until the following day. Ridiculous, who would leave their animal to suffer in this extremely callous circumstance? We reluctantly complied and the vet arrived to perform that which probably should have been expedited on first contact absent regard or recognition of the needless anguish that was a direct result of indifference to the plight of our lifelong friend Big Boy shivering in the freezing mud. she came out and did her job! I wouldn't have given them any stars, but one is mandatory... Read Less

Would like to give them zero stars. I wish I would have read the reviews before I took my Siberian Husky there. They charged me nearly $1500 to diagnose Tikaani Jameerah with diabetes. I had to give her insulin injections but after a couple months I stopped because she seemed like it really wasn't doing anything for her. Now, 4 months later with no insulin shots, she is fine. A total misdiagnosis I think. I also have a friend who took a cat there and all they did was charge her out the wazoo without helping her cat. She took Charlie to a different vet who informed her Greener Pastures misdiagnosed the problem. I highly recommend staying away from here unless you've got loads of money and really don't care what happens to your pet. Read Less

Read Less

I would trust Dr. Johnston every single time. I trusted my gut taking my Taffy cat to her and I am so glad that I did. Thank you everyone at Greener Pastures!!
