What do you do when a vet or vet technician makes a perfectly healthy animal sick or causes a hurting animal to hurt worse...
Schwenksville Vet is the reason I will never adopt an animal ever again. Our beloved, perfectly healthy, adult dog was raised with no chemicals, no shots of any kind. To adopt him we had to have the state required vaccines. The doctor at Schwenksville Vet gave him every vaccine, both state required and not while assuring us he'd be fine. He became deathly ill, but survived. Within a year his pearly white teeth began to rot ($100s to remove), he developed a heart murmur and liver enzymes. After the shots he's had persistent bouts of diarrhea and vomiting.
$100s later he's had infections; gastrointestinal issues that require a special diet and so many more vet visits. After the shots he developed spots around his genital area that could very well be cancer which the tech said could be prevented if he were neutered, another vet bill.
The latest insult is an estimate for ear cleaning where the lowest quantities are doubled from the last time he had the procedure...doubled! This is different from the high quantity which is more than quadrupled. There are also multiple other expenses that were not included on the previous ear cleaning bill. To make matters worse, the doctor we requested is not doing the procedure...the doctor who caused our beloved dog to become so ill is listed on the estimate.
We can't go anywhere else, we've tried. The vets we contacted require all new patients to have all the shots that made him so sick. Therefore, no more pets. When we first brought him in he was a healthy adult dog in every way. After going to Schwenksville Vet he's had to suffer in ways no one, animal or human, should be forced to. The number 1 excuse we hear: it's common for the breed. Well, it wasn't common for our dog till after they got their greedy hands on him.
And one last bit of info: after his neuter he came out screaming. The tech said he's acting out for attention. Uh, are you kidding? No, she was dead serious. This is the level of professionalism you can expect when you leave your pet at Schwenksville Vet.
Update: after his latest procedure to clean and trim his ears, he's still scratching and crying. The doctor who had originally done such a good job, did not, could not have done this to him. It was a lousy job and he will continue to suffer. His ears are filthy and irritated. And for double the cost we'd originally paid. Profits seem more important than pets at Schwenksville Vet.
