I wish I could give less than one star - as I feel like we were horribly mishandled.
Today, we should've announced a new addition to our furbabies. Instead, Skippack Animal Hospital, toyed with our hearts, wasted our time, our money and our sanity. Despite asking about if there were others interested, checking out completely, having a place ready and kitten-proofed; we lose out to another family. They claim this family had interest first - we saw the kitten Saturday, October 4th, called and left a message the next day, Monday thought all about her as she went through surgery to be spayed, and waited without any sense of patience on Tuesday so we could see her. Tuesday, October 7th we fell completely head over heels, spent an hour with her and tore ourselves away figuring this was a done deal. Wednesday we got Persephone updated on her shots, so she'd be ready, and waited to hear back with good news. We pestered our current vet to call Skippack Animal Hospital, so we could get confirmation. Tyler- my wonderful and dedicated husband, called DAILY - usually multiple times, to see what else was needed, had they heard anything from our vet, was there any news - we love her and can't wait - sorry for pestering. We were told if everything went well, we'd get to bring her home Friday. I'm not sure what changed between Wednesday, October 8th and Friday the 10th, but we got the run around several times on Friday. To not pester, since the "only person who can do the adoptions" wasn't in until Monday, we left it at that - missing out on spending time with a little kitten we couldn't stop talking about - thinking about. Today Tyler called for an update, got more run around and introduced to the fact that there was suddenly another family interested. We had to wait to see if this family's cat had once again tested positive for Feline Luekemia. Our cat has never tested positive, and we were willing to spend yet more money to ensure Skippack of this. We obviously lost to this other family, who magically came out of the woodwork. No apology will be enough to counter the melancholy I feel. You see we have been interested in getting another cat for a while now. I've seen plenty of adorable kittens - what kitten isn't too cute for words - and none have pulled on my soul quite like this one has. So I consider it a loss. We won't be adopting any new cat - probably ever. I apologize for my rant/long story on Facebook, as I try not to post stuff like this here. But my hope is that you think twice before using any services from Skippack Animal Hospital - especially if you consider adopting from them. I would hate for this to happen to anyone else.
As for me, until we consider adopting a new pet, I'll spend the adoption fee giving to rescues with competent staff who consider what is best for the pet versus - who showed interest first.Read Less
