I brought my bearded dragon in earlier this week on an emergency they were very quick to get me an appointment and even called me back to give me an earlier time. They over exceeded my expectations and did more than enough to make me and my little mushu feel comfortable and treated her promptly and properly. I without a doubt have found my vet and will recommend them to everyone and anyone with animals in need. You guys should advertise that you work with exotic animals there's more of us out there than you know and honestly I wouldn't have known you do without being recommended to you by another vet. I've taken my pets here for years and I wouldn't go anywhere else. The staff here are extremely friendly and helpful. In addition to cats and dogs, they also treat exotics- birds, snakes, hamsters, mice, lizards, etc. They have a separated waiting room so your smaller animals don't have to share a space with your bigger animals. Not only do they treat animals, they also have special events such as pictures with Santa and "cats night out" (a night for just cat check ups so they don't have to deal with the stress and anxiety some feel from being around dogs), they also have activities such as basket raffles that give owners a chance to win pet supplies! I have never had a bad experience here- the doctors are gentle and are eager to work with your pets. All pets are equal to them and they will treat your small and furry or scaly pet with just as much care as you're bigger furry friends! They've treated several of my hamsters throughout the years and they will do anything to help any animal. They even help owners through the grieving process of losing a beloved pet. I recommended them to anyone looking for a fair, compassionate, helpful and overall caring team of staff that are eager and willing to help and will provide the best care for your pets! Read Less

Amazing experience!!!      I own a rabbit and needed to get her spayed. We looked at many places around the area, but unfortunately very few places take rabbits. Even fewer have staff trained in rabbit care. Thankfully, Dr. Hanley was very knowledgeable in proper rabbit care, and the surgeon there has experience operating on exotics.       Even before we arrived, the friendly tone of the receptionist on the phone told us that it was a welcoming atmosphere. Once we did arrive, I was shocked by how well organized and clean the facility was! They had a separate waiting area for cats and exotics to keep them from being frightened of the dogs. It's this kind of attention to each animal's needs that makes a vet office a good vet office. Additionally, during the check-up, the doctors were very honest and also very caring. They even prescribed a special pain medication to help with my rabbit's dental issue.I highly recommend this veterinary office!!!! Read Less

We have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience. I have seen all of the docs there with one of my cats at least once, and they are all fantastic, caring, supportive, and smart! The techs and front-desk staff are wonderful as well. I do not feel as though they push expensive tests, or medications. I am so grateful this facility is here for my pets! We started going to this vet after relocating to the area stayed there for about 8 mths. The front office staff is terrible with the exception of 1 or 2 that actually know what they are doing - sometimes it would take more time to checkout than the actual appointment. Doctors were mediocre at best and showed no compassion. They told my mother her dog was dying based on some lumps that they found and just to keep her comfortable - without doing any tests and showing no compassion. Once they saw my mother starting to get upset they just said come back when she decides what she wants to do and left. We went a few weeks later to get a second opinion and come to find out they were just fatty tissue and her dog is fine. This place is way overpriced for the terrible service that they provide. We pay a fraction of the price at our new vet and the doctors and front office staff is 1000 times better than this place and they actually love animals. Read Less

I have never had a pet before, however we have a rescue bunny and Snoopy developed a cyst on his neck. Not only was he seen the same day I called for an appointment but the doctor and all staff were wonderful and treated Snoopy wonderful. I appreciate your help and we will be back. Read Less

I have been going there for 11 years everyone is beyond wonderful. Love the waiting area so clean and has everything to make you comfortable You don't wait more than a minute to see the doctor. The doctors are all wonderful but I have a special thing with Dr Novak. My dogs just love him!!!!! The people at the front desk are so wonderful no mater what your issue is they take care of it Wonderful!!!! The technicians are so great with your animals. You never ever have to worry about leaving your babies there you know they will be taking care of so well I have only one complaint... They don't take humans!!!! Read Less

I brought my two dogs in as new patients.  My Pug had a lump on her side near her back that has been there and we were told it was nothing to worry about, but, I wanted it looked at again.  Dr. Hartz said it looked like a fat mass. She asked me if I wanted it tested and cost would be 80.00. I sad yes do it.  She came back next day with a sketchy well... it looked like it had a few cells that were suspicious, she then went on to say "If it were my dog I would remove it.  That told me she was in it for the money.  My Boxer was having issues with urinating and drinking excessively, I thought he had diabetes, so they did B/W and he had negative results for Diabetes but his Liver Enzymes were 1662!!  the normal is around 150.  Instead of doing bloodwork to rule out what is the obvious cause the vet ordered B/W for Adrenal gland disease!  Now, I asked them why are you doing a test for that instead of the test where the numbers are so elevated?  Tech said that is hat Dr. ordered.   Here is what I found out.  I was angry because they are prolonging my babies test in order to bilk me out of money, why? because their office doesn't have an ultrasound machine and so Dr. figured let's get some money out of her first.  Dr. calls me with results and says Buster is giving us a run here, his adrenal gland test came back negative!! I again was upset and I asked to speak to the office manager. I told her I was upset that Dr. new Liver enzymes were extremely high, and that should have been the first test run after B/W came back.  She said I will have to speak to the Dr. and find out why he ordered the adrenal test first and not the Liver ultrasound.  I then asked who owns this practice and she answered "Dr. Hartz"  Well Dr. or office never returned my phone calls.  This is because they knew they had been caught.  People DO NOT bring your loving pets here because their best interest is not what this practice puts first.  Their first concern is the Dollar and this behavior proves it.   If a Vet truly cared about animals they would have said his liver enzymes are extremely high I want to do an ultrasound of his liver first!! but no, he ordered and adrenal gland disease test first.  This is either incompetence at it's best or total lack of concern for the pet. I took both my fur babies and went to Creature Comforts. They took one look at the results and ordered the ultrasound !!   Just like people we want the best care for our babies, this place is not it.  Money comes first with them.  BEWARE!! Read Less

I am so grateful to everyone at the Animal Medical Center and for the kindness and compassion they showed. My 12 year old son's tiny hamster was extremely sick and dying. For his sake, we brought his hamster to the office where we learned that she had pneumonia and would be best if we were to say goodbye. I have never experienced such compassion and kindness toward both our sick pet and my son. It was the first time he ever had a pet die, and she was not just a hamster to him, but a pet that was beloved to him. We picked up a rescue dog and needed a vet to review him as soon as possible because of his conditions. It appeared as if the dog was blind, deaf, under-weight, lost a lot of fur, open wounds, hot spots, ... You name it. Basically the dog was neglected for a long time before we picked him up. So the good news is that we got an appointment right away - which probably should have made us nervous and should have given it away already. Anyway, the visit at the clinic was somehow okay. The vet did a basic physical and took some blood to run tests. During the visit the doctor was pretty hands off and did not talk to us too much, considering the bad condition of our new addition to the family. We were promised that we will get a call within the next two days to discuss the blood work and next steps. That was 10 days ago and we still did receive a call from the doctor. I even called them several times to prompt that we are still waiting for results or a conversation - nothing! So if you are looking for a place that does not communicate and your are not expecting any feedback or help in a timely fashion, this is the place for you. Read Less

I don't know if I can explain how grateful I am to this veterinary practice. They were so wonderful, caring, concerned. We have two birds, and woke up to find one of them sick. Naturally we were terrified as a sick bird is often a very serious situation. They were able to get us in for a sick visit within a few hours. They also took our second feathered baby just to make sure he was healthy and ready for us to move next month. But our sick bird got the medical attention he needed; medicine for his congestion and a special formula to help him gain a little weight. When we arrived, the woman at reception was so sweet to me, carrying my giant bundles of blankets into the waiting room. They didn't seem at all bothered by Tootie's screaming. If anything it was like they sympathized with him. The prices were very reasonable, Dr. Novak explained everything to me about how and when to administer the medication and was very friendly both to me and to my babies. Tootie is now doing a lot better, and we got a call from the clinic to see how he was doing two days after they saw him. Highly recommended establishment. Thank you all so much! Read Less

I've used AMC for almost 9 years. Dr Brian is awesome. He has saved my dogs life from a nasty attack wound and from cancer. Very intelligent and AMC is very fortunate to have him on staff. Dr Brian returns calls/ messages quickly - even when your out of the country and your dog is injured at a kennel he is able to keep you calm knowing she is under his care. He is the best!  He is also an educator: you learn from him when he treats / examines your pet and explains the pet psychology and sociology behind their behaviors. I would like to thank the center, for there kindness they showed to me and my family, my beloved dog Chip was brought there after being hit and killed by a car on 113 and winding river road. He was brought there by a kind person who witnessed him being hit. And that person took the time and brought him to them. Unfortunately he did not survive. When we found out and arrived to the center the staff was very compassionate and helped me and my son during this anguishing time. I am so grateful to Dr. Brian Novak and the team here for taking us in last minute.  We had taken our conure parrot to another vet to have his wings clipped.  Instead of clipping them the proper way (1st 10 primary feathers) they clipped ALL of his wings and left the first 2.  Bird can still fly but he can't land in a controlled manner plus he flies wobbly.  When you look at the bird, it just doesn't look like what a bird's wings should look like.  Enough of the butcher job by the other vet.We called Animal Medical Center since they were recommended by the Association of Avian Vets in a panicked state.  We weren't sure if Ripley would be ok.  We were told to bring him in and they would take a look at him.  Dr. Brian cheered me up and made me laugh even though I was in tears with concern for our feathered baby.  He reassured us that Ripley would be ok, although he wouldn't clip him this way.  He said that since the way they were clipped, the ends might poke at his body and cause him to pick at his feathers, if that were the case they would give him anti-inflammatory to help.  They didn't charge us for the check-up!  They definitely have our business because of their caring in our time of need!  Thanks Dr. Brian for being awesome! There is not enough bandwidth here to do this awesome practice justice. I have been a client for several years now and I tell everyone I know that this is THE best practice in the area! The vets are all wonderful-very knowledgeable, patient, compassionate and willing to spend as much time as it takes to answer questions and soothe frightened pets and their parents (me). Dr. Novak has done wonders for my sick kitty and Dr. Crocker and Dr. Hanley have always taken terrific care of my other three. They are a certified cat-friendly practice, which is important to me and my scaredy cats who do not like people. The staff is just as awesome, always caring and supportive. The whole staff is wonderful, nice and very helpful. They played with my puppy while I filled out paperwork so I didn't have to juggle the leash and clipboard. One of the staff even came over and played with my three year old son while our puppy was getting shots etc. Highly recommended for anyone who feels their pets are members of the family. Most dogs are afraid of going to the vet...but not here!  Our dog loves going to the vet.  The vets and staff here are kind, gentle, caring and personable.  We have taken our dog here since we rescued him and he gets excited each time.  We have worked with Dr. Brian Novak and Dr. Bridget Hanley and they are simply the best at what they do!  These veterinarians really take the time to check on your pet and treat your pet like royalty.  They always ask if we have questions and they never pressure you to take the extra tests.  We did in fact spring for the recommended tests and they are quite expensive but I think they are fair prices and what other places would offer.  One of the nurse's, Ashlie, is awesome too.  She takes Rusty's weight and gives us general information before we see the vet- always friendly and helpful!If you're looking for a place to take your pet, I would highly recommend this place.  You can trust them with your pet and know they care for your family! My Golden Retriever Jenny contracted lyme desease and I came to Animal Medical Center to get prescription for antibiotic which is the only treatment for this bacterial infection. After examination Dr. Kara Stover insisted on conducting $200 of "necessary tests" that came back "inconclusive" because my dog was in heat and the vet have seen it before administering these tests. Eventually she prescribed the antibiotic but only half of the necessary dose while insisting that I bring my dog back for "additional tests" in two weeks and by the way if she will survive the lyme desease it would be a good idea to spade her. Fortunately when I phoned the next day the other vets at the clinic were able to correct the error in the insufficient dose prescribed by "doctor" Kara Stover and my dog is recovering now.
