After my boyfriend and his Mom recommended this vet, I took a small kitten there to be seen. That visit was fine. This has, or had, been the primary vet for their family for many, many years. This past week, one of their indoor/outdoor cats ended up with a limp. When it continued into the second day, we called them to set an appointment. We knew it was Friday and expected them to schedule him for Monday, which we were completely fine with, as this was clearly not a life-threatening injury. The woman who answered the phone started to suggest we take him to the emergency vet, as most people who have been to one would likely attest, those are easily $200+ for them to look at the animal and then send you home. When we said that Monday morning would be fine, the woman's attitude got very demeaning. She was very short and quite rude for the remainder of the call. About 10 minutes later, we got a call back from the office saying we needed to speak to their "medical director", so clearly the woman went and "tattled" on us as if we were allowing our beloved pet to sit in excruciating pain. We are WELL aware of how to take care of our pets. Our German Shepherd was rushed to AVETs for bloat. We get what an emergency is versus what is Not an emergency. They spent 10 minutes at least on the phone explaining why, basically, they felt we were not caring for our cat in an acceptable manner. It was rude, offensive, uncalled for and absolute bs. We called another well known vets office and relayed our problem to them, they said they also saw no reason to rush him in to an ER vet unless he became worse (also worth noting; the kitty was already improving from the limp, but since it was still semi noticeable, we just wanted him checked out. This was mentioned a few times as well as the facts he was eating, playing, walking, and using the bathroom normally.) I don't like to bad mouth people who seem to care about animals, but this is different. The woman has had cats for 30+ years, none have ever passed away before the age of 12, we feed them a good, quality food and keep them UTD on shots, flea and tick prevention and monitor them closely. They've lost their business of 4 cats and a dog. They were pricey, I was quoted over $300 for a kitten spay at one point. Just a shame that someone with a bad attitude answering your phones can ultimately cost you about $1,000 in annual income. Read Less
