I was referred here by a family member who breeds and shows dogs. She strongly recommended Dr. Gardner so we waited for a surgery appointment with her for our "grand dog" who was visiting from out west. The whole staff was wonderful - we must have interacted with at least six different people who were all very caring, compassionate and pleasant. The surgery went very well and Dr. Gardner herself escorted our dog out to us. I can't say enough about the care and will recommend Meadowlands highly to anyone I talk with. And I will also say, that the quality of the medical care was our top priority but when we were presented with the bill, we were astounded at how reasonable it was. Thanks to all at Meadowlands for creating such a comfortable and caring experience for us and for our Honey. Read Less

After visiting another local vet tonight because they were open 24/7 and I felt like I had an emergency situation that couldn't wait till my vet's normal business hours...I decided to take the high-road and say a huge THANK YOU to my vet instead of writing a terrible review about the one I just visited. "Thank You" to everyone at Meadowlands for being honest and sincere. "Thank You" for providing upfront pricing and giving options to accommodate various budgets. "Thank you" for letting your clients know when an extra wait may be expected, because of unforeseen circumstances. "Thank You" for being the kind of vet that makes a visit enjoyable and not one where you leave and want to tell everyone you know with pets how terrible things were and warn them to never go there. I can only say that I didn't fully appreciate how wonderful you were until I experienced the other end of the spectrum. Keep providing the outstanding service that you do and just know that you are truly appreciated! Read Less

Unfortunately, we brought our dog here for surgery. He was released to us within hours after his surgery, covered in blood, had to be carried to the car because he was still under anesthesia, and had a "gauze drain" protruding out of his neck. As directed, we made sure the surgery site was cleaned. We brought our dog back for a check up 2 days after with no additional instructions given. There was no follow-up phone call and there was no additional appointment to schedule. Our dog ripped open his wound and there was gauze protruding from his neck. Meadowlands failed to remove the packed gauze from his neck during our follow-up visit. They told us there was an assumption made that he scratched it out himself. We tried to remove the gauze ourselves; however, it had already adhered to the tissue. Had he not scratched the wound open, he could have died due to sepsis or became extremely ill. Unfortunately, this resulted in yet another surgery - of course, not from Meadowlands! Our golden retriever is like our baby. I would NEVER take him back to his veterinary hospital. Save yourself time and money and go somewhere else.Read Less

I brought my Olde English Sheepdog here to be neutered - he had been seen there a few times and we never had problems.  Post-neuter, they did not put a cone on him, so he chewed out his stitches.  When I arrived to pick him up, they found he had removed his stitches and put two haphazard staples in him - he is 60+ lbs, two small staples on a hyper large puppy were not going to hold.  They told me he was ok and not in pain - which was not at all the case.  I had to call later that day to request pain meds for him as he could not sit or lay without whimpering.  Of course, one staple popped out that night and I had to take him to an emergency vet, which cost me more than the original neuter visit (side note: University Veterinary Specialists in McMurray are AMAZING).  If you take your dog to Meadowlands Vet, know that they will not put a cone on him - they've since informed me they do not use cones unless it's ocular surgery, as they feel cones are distressing to pets.  I suppose having to get repeated staples in an already irritated incision is less stressful.  I would give zero stars if it was an option.
