I wish I could give 0 stars. My 3 month old puppy was hit by a car, and instead of taking him to our vet 25+ minutes away during rush hour I decided to take him to an animal hospital 2 minutes away from our house since I wasn’t sure how stable he was to travel all the way to our vet. When I arrived and explained the situation, the receptionist was extremley rude, unempathetic, and told me that I needed to wait and other people were ahead of me that had appointments. People in the waiting room were shocked on how I was treated and try to console both my puppy and I who were extremely distraught. The vet tech approached me and explained they were going to take him back and told me I was not allowed to come back, but instead needed to wait in the front. A minute later, the vet tech approaches me and explains “he’s fine”while giving him back and that they listened to his lungs and I can take him somewhere elsewhere for treatment. No vet ever came out to me to speak directly, I was never offered any care (no pain medicine, X-rays, opinion of what they suspected was wrong) but instead was referred to an emergency vet in Frazier, PA during rush hour. His paw was visibly broken, swollen, and he was moaning from the pain. After knowing he was stable enough, he was in executing pain and we drove an additional 30 minutes with a broken arm while we sat in rush traffic to take him to his regular vet. Once we arrived, our vet took 5 MINUTES to physically examine him, and took an X-Ray to confirm the fracture (even with other patients in the lobby). He splinted it up, gave him pain medicine and I was in and out in 15-20 minutes with discharge instructions. As a health care worker, I am extremley disgusted with the care and lack of compassion that this establishment presented to me and my new puppy who was just hit by a car. I did what any animal parent would do by taking him to the nearest place for care after witnessing their baby being struck by a moving vehicle. My vet was unbelievably dumbfounded that they did not offer to take any X-rays, offer care, or personally come out to me in the lobby as distraught as I was, to offer their opinion. I hope this review will prevent this situation from happening to any other person and their animal as it made the whole situation so much more traumatizing seeing my animal in so much pain longer than necessary due to a lack of compassion.
