Called to make an appointment for my baby hedge hog and got an appointment for the same day. And hour and a half before the appointment after getting my baby ready for the appointment and into her travel cage and comfortable I received a phone call to cancel the appointment because the "doctor did not feel comfortable" well in my opinion this should of been checked with the doctor before letting me waste all day waiting for an appointment when I could have found another vet to take care of her already. I can't say enough good things about this place.  We moved to the area recently and we had yet to establish veterinary care for our 14 year old cat.  When she suddenly lost the use of her back legs on a Saturday night we searched for somewhere local and we decided to call compassionate care because they're 5 minutes from our new house and they're open on Sundays.  Our cat was much worse Sunday morning and when I called them at 8 am and explained our situation the receptionist talked to the vet and then asked if we could come in immediately.  What followed was the most positive experience I can imagine for end of life care for a beloved pet. The vet was candid and realistic about the situation.  She did not push us toward additional testing or treatment that would have been unlikely to lead to real improvement.  We were given all the space and time that we needed and the staff went above and beyond to make things easy for us. When my husband arrived with our 3 year old she was able to say goodbye, and then the staff took her to the office and entertained her so my husband and I could focus completely on our cat at the end.  I am incredibly grateful to this office for their help that terrible Sunday morning.  Based on my experience I would bring any future pets straight to them. I've had 2 of my 4 legged family members taken care of here the vet explains everything good and bad and they took care of my dog that needed emergency surgery. I had taken my other dog to east Greenwich for the same surgery and it cost 6 grand which I paid without question when my other dog had the same problem someone told me about compassion and they were close to my home they did the same surgery for 18 hundred and she great the 2 dogs surgery were 3 yrs apart. They don't keep you waiting in the waiting room and the care and after care is great. I just think people should check around for a good vet when they bring there 4 legged family members into there home. Read Less

Took my dog here for months with issues with her feet also asked about why her nipples didn't look right was told her nipples are just ugly looking nothing wrong with them and her feet they said just had a infection well after a biopsy blood work pills and the visits came to over $2000 and she never got better . Went to another vet to have a 2nd opinion and come to find out my dogs nipples are ugly because she's riddled with cancer tumors as well as tumors in her feet and the dog had a small stroke they didn't pick up on 2 months ago my dog is now dying because of this place do not go her ever they also never sent in the biopsy I paid for witch would have certainly indicated cancer robbed me for over $2000 and my heart is dying because of there neglect Read Less

Our elderly dog was sickly, so we were referred to this vet. I was impressed by the warm welcome by the staff and cleanliness of the office. The vet had a great bedside manner, and did the necessary preliminary tests to exclude certain diseases...prescribed a medication, however after nearly 2 weeks symptoms didn't get better. We had to return, and ultimately were told that it was likely something much serious, and very costly. We had to come to a decision to put our dog down. The vet and assistant were very kind, nurturing and compassionate during the visit and allowed us to spend as much time as we felt was needed before/after with our beloved dog. I was so happy we decided to go here instead of the place we use to go for annual visits....the level of care was bar none. Absolutely horrible customer service! My Pets are my family and no one calls back or responds back to e-mail requests. Every time I call, I immediately get put on hold, and then a different person picks up and mentions someone else's pet's name! Called there because we have a chinchilla and our old vet no longer takes "exotic" pets. They were responsive, knowledgeable and treated him quickly. Great staff and doctors. There are not enough positive things I can say about Dr. Farrington and her staff!! Our pitbull, Dexter, is dog aggressive (something that makes vet visits very stressful for mom and dad). The staff at Compassionate Care ALWAYS goes above and beyond in making sure Dexter has a room immediately upon arrival. Dr. Farrington is always very thorough and informative, all while giving Dexter lots of attention and love during every single visit. I recommend Compassionate Care to everyone I can. 5 pets means a lot of vets. We have probably been to 7 vets with our pets and Compassionate Care really is the best we have been to. We have had issues from very unique to the mundane, but the care has been top notch and truly compassionate. In addition, the evening appointment times are much more convenient than any of our previous clinics. The prices are fair. They probably aren't the cheapest, but because the vets and staff take the time to truly exam your pet's issues you probably save in the long run. Read Less

Love Dr Linda and her staff. They took care of my very ill Dog and gave us another year with her when others said they couldn't help. Now we bring our ferret and dog. Staff is friendly, the facility is clean and welcoming.  Only complaint is the parking lot isn't big enough for all staff and customers. Overall great place Read Less

I adore Dr Farrington and her staff. I prefer some of her Docs over others, and pretty much will only go to her, but that is just likely a personal preference. With so many aging animals, a 23 year old cat with kidney issues, a Russian Blue, who recently needed an amputation and is now going through cancer treatments, and lastly but not least, my sweet diabetic baby Sumo, RIP, all of whom and others in my care that have benefitted from her care. I am blessed to have such a thorough, caring and helpful vet, who is always willing to listen and take the time to figure out the best solution for me, my budget and my behbies. Thank Dr Fartington. Why would I schedule an appointment with your company again after how rude and unprofessional way I was treated. No since making an appointment; you do not keep them. I waited over 1 1/2 for a scheduled appointment. After an hour I asked the receptionist when will my dog will be seen? The receptionist was so rude and said I do not know and I asked her could you find out and she said no. I asked her if you know your running late why did you not call or text the schedule appointment and tell them that we running late by hours; can we reschedule or come at this time? The receptionist said that they make more money on emergencies and they really do not care if I have an appointment or not. So it quite apparent that this company does not care about my time or energy. I received no care and believe me no compassion.But the rude unprofessional receptionist can gossip on the phone / play with a kitten/ but can not assist schedule appointments.No care no compassion. I left and I went to pet-co and got my 3 shots for half the price and no exam fee, no rude receptionist...so you may continue with your rude unprofessional behavior that your mean receptionist displayed and customers will go elsewhere. Also, the receptionist over charge me from my last visit; and the leash I bought broke the first day. Also, the Vet loves to put the temperature up the dog butt meanly. I may say most VET use the electronic dog friendly to take pet temperature but your VET and techs seem to love to stick it to the dog...not a good policy. I have been taking my dog there for about two months now, since she was 3 months, we have taken stool samples, and blood tests in which we have never received the results. They said my dog "needed" a liver test to ensure liver functions are well enough for a spay. It has been going on three weeks now, after multiple attempts of calling to receive the results. I have heard endless statements that I would received a phone call, in which in fact never came. I am dissapointed in the fact that I have not received what I paid for. I called today and was told "I have here a communication order that your dogs papers were faxed over to another vet and that you didnt want the doctor to call." I have never called about faxing paperwork over, and was never told this when I called multiple times. I am 25 years old and feel as if I have been taken full advantage of. Knowing I would go above and beyond for my dog, its sickning to know where the best interest really is $$. Not to mention my dog was given a shot in her muscle and had a reaction to it; shaking and could barely open her eyes, and was screaming due to soreness for three day, we took her back that night and were charged for fluid and medicines in which they had messed up with in the first place, before every shot we were charged for a shot of benedryl rather than them tell us to give our dog prior to the visit to save us 35 dollars each visit. My dog also had blood taken out of her neck and with a squirmy puppy at 3 months they ended up knicking an artery in which she didnt stop bleeding. We had taken her to two vets at this place hoping it would get better. I cant thinking of a more money hungry buisness. If you care about your animals please stay away, unless you have money to blow and want to put your dog thru numerous torture. Disgusted to say the least. Read Less

Worst vet I have ever interacted with (dr a). Condescending, tried to give me antibacterial med for a viral infection. Then tried to give me antibacterial antibiotic for an uninfected skin cyst. Basically just tried to throw antibiotics at every problem, no matter that they aren't diseases associated with bacteria. Complete lack of clinical judgment. Couldn't even inject a vaccine, half of it sprayed to ground. She left it there as a puddle. it's a vets office any animal could just lick it up.  Very unsafe. Also after biopsy left my dog to bleed on the couch that my dog sat on during the biopsy. A soft couch for humans and pets. Totally disgusting for next person to sit on.  This vet Asked me why I didn't just biopsy my dog myself. What kind of person asks that question. I'm not a veterinarian. Also I have more complaints (didn't even introduce herself or ask me who I was). Read Less

I had to bring my 22 year old cat there last week after suffering seizures in the middle of the night. The team went out of there way to console me and tell me what was best for my cat in regards to" quality of life" of course it was 2 days before Christmas. They took such good care of my loving cat, Gretch. I wanted to hold her through the process of putting her to sleep. The doctor and vet tech stayed with us and did what they needed also petting Gretch and talking softly to her. Have them there made my broken heart a bit less heavy. I had her cremated and the vet tech sat with me to go over what I wanted. The cremation box is beautiful along with flower seeds I can plant in remembrance of my Gretch, a medallion and a lovely sympathy card. My family now has our Gretch back home at rest. If you are searching for a great vet with reasonable prices you have found it. I adopted a cat from a shelter and the first day brought her to CCVC. They did a complete physical, and diagnosed her with an ear infection. At checkout the prices were so reasonable I was shocked! I recently brought her back for a checkup and blood work, which was 1/3 of the price of the vet I used with our last cat in Providence. I also haven't felt pressured to do anything, which I can't say for the last vet. They are also open 7 days a week, which is AMAZING and means they can fit you in quickly if needed. The name says it all, the staff here is wonderful. Friday night at 9pm I had an emergency with my Flemish Giant rabbit and to say I was hysterical is a huge understatement. There aren't too many vets in the state that care for this breed or rabbit due to their size, let alone ones that would be open at this time. They were so kind and calmed me immediately when we arrived. They were so gentle towards my rabbit and took the time to move slowly so she would be comfortable. I would have paid nearly anything for them to help, but I was pleasantly surprised with their VERY reasonable prices for an emergency visit. I already have a vet for my dog, but they were so great here I'm going to switch vets and bring her here too. The inside of this office is so comfortable for pets and people. The exam room and waiting room were both large with plenty of seating.  Thankfully they were open in our time of need. I love bringing my pup here (well I don't like the reasons but if I had to bring him anywhere it would be here!). They are super friendly and compassionate and loving for the animals AND the owners. While my pup was in their hospital care they called to see how I was holding up through the whole thing. They're very willing to answer any and all questions and take your worried parent phone calls when your animal child is in their care. I have had so many terrible experiences with vets, most rely on customers ignorance to make a quick buck, not here! vets are no frills, to the point and very much in love with the dogs and cats they work with. Our oldest cat wasn't well, and our regular vet was too busy to see us - but when we described his symptoms (his right paw was swollen to twice normal size, and looked totally freaky), she said we should get him looked at right away. She recommended Compassionate Care. The place was very clean, the people were VERY friendly and nice, and they got things done quickly.
