I recently started taking my dogs here after being unhappy with my current vet. All of the reviews I had read were stellar and there is a reason why....EVERYONE at Cumberland Animal Hospital is so nice. They explain everything clearly, up front with their prices. The office was extremely clean, Dr. Weed even apologized for a tuft of dog hair being in the exam room. He explained to me what my new puppy needed, what he would recommend and left the decision up to me without making me feel like a "bad dog mom." Literally THE BEST animal hospital in the state.  We were dissatisfied with the care we received at another animal hospital, so we started bringing our cats here in 2015 since it was a shorter drive.  Every doctor and vet tech there truly care about the animals and their well being.  My cats and dog mostly see Dr. Rochette, who is absolutely wonderful.  Whenever I bring them in, she treats them as if they were her own, hugging and talking to them.  I love how she brings the cats over the her computer while she finishes her notes.We recently had to say goodbye to one of our cats.  His illness was being controlled by medicine for well over a year, but his health started failing.  During this time, everyone was so compassionate, patient, and let us know we were doing the right thing for our old man.  If you are looking for an animal hospital you can trust, feels like family, and has fair pricing, Cumberland Animal Hospital is it! We have been taking our cats and dogs to Cumberland Animal Hospital for many years. We love all the doctors and the staff. Every one of them is an animal lover. You can tell they all love what they do.  Last April we had to put down our Jack,  he was a rescue we brought in to our family at 4 months old, we said goodbye to him at an amazing 17 years old! Everyone at Cumberland Animal Hospital helped us through this difficult time. We are asked when we make an appointment if we have a doctor preference,  and honestly we don't.  We have seen and are comfortable with all 4 doctors. Most people will do anything for their pets and when we are faced with a crisis, sometimes we have no choice but to leave it in the hands of experts to diagnose, care for and help treat our animals. I brought my 6 year old French Bulldog to Cumberland Animal Hospital recently, who suffered from a spinal injury, became paralyzed in both hind legs and could no longer stand up, never mind walk. Of course having to see my dog like this, my emotions were evident. Without even telling the story of what led to this, Dr. Rochette knew instantly what was causing this to happen. She explained the issue and together we agreed on a treatment plan for my dog. Her knowledge, professionalism and kindness really resonated with me and gave me the peace of mind I needed in that moment. My dog stayed in her care two nights in a row and by the time I picked him up he was already walking again. This clinic is absolutely amazing and so is Doctor Rochette. I was bringing my dogs to her at her previous place of work and when she went to Cumberland Animal Hospital I transferred all 5 of my dogs. I travel 45 minutes to bring my dogs to see her because when you find someone you trust with your four legged family members you stay with them. They are all very knowledgeable, trustworthy, kind and caring. Their pricing is very reasonable and the services they offer are amazing.  My latest pup was spayed by Dr. Rochette using laser and the difference was unbelievable. Had a emergency with my moms small dog, Cumberland animal hospital came highly recommended so we were happy when we got in to see them almost immediately! Moms dog would not stand up and appeared to have some weakness in his hine legs. The Vet that was on did a rectal exam and said she found what appeared to be a Golf ball sized tumor near his anal gland, she went on to say that this was a fast moving cancer and the surgery could cost 3-4K plus and then possible Chemotherapy after. My elderly mother at this point was sobbing uncontrollably. I asked if it was a possibility that it wasn't cancer, the vet said it was a 80/20 chance that it was cancer. I asked if we could at least try anti inflammation meds/anti-biotics she said we could try but would suggest no more than a week for a follow up because of the fast moving cancer. We left my mom devastated holding her dog and crying all the way home 2 days later my mother called me crying saying her dog was bleeding and she didn't know why or from where? I decided not to call Cumberland but to go to another hospital where the Vet had 50 years experience. Upon arrival of the new vet/2nd opinion he said the dog was suffering from a massive infection and a real nasty abscess (burst and caused bleeding) but he felt in no way any tumor. We left the dog (who required anesthesia to drain) until 5 PM the dog now is doing fantastic and almost back to his old self within 3 days of his mini operation at a total cost of $325 including meds! I know Cumberland has great reviews but mine was far from great! Thank god for this other vet because my mom did not have thousands to spend especially unnecessary!!Read Less

We actually see a different vet that we do love but we visited Cumberland Animal Hospital a few weeks ago with a sick guinea pig that needed to be helped to sleep. The entire staff was so compassionate and nice. I never expected them to be so caring with our little piggie. And they even sent us a thoughtful card a few days later. That stood out for me since many times my thought is that clinics will do more for their benefit and less in client's pocket. I appreciated that very much! Everyone who works at Cumberland Animal Hospital is so friendly and professional. It's easy to see that they all love animals and really care about your pet(s). I chose them to take my cat that I adopted because they have a cardiologist that comes in, and I'm so glad I did. Dr. Weed and Dr. Rochette are both very nice and have great bedside manner. The fact that Cumberland Animal Hospital also boards animals is awesome and really helps when we have to go away and cannot bring our cat that needs pills twice a day. After seeing a Facebook ad (yes, those FB ads can work) and looking this business up, I noticed the great reviews and knew I needed to find a nearby new vet for my cats. The moment I walked in, the office staff was as sweet as pie and quite complimentary of my pretty but nervous cat.  They got us in super quickly and the doctor had such a kind and sweet demeanor.  They handled her with care and you can tell they truly love the animals that come into their practice. Just recently switched vets!!! I was going to north smithfield animal hospital and just felt the place is starting to go downhill, there rude, it smells like a moldy basement. I looked up local hospital an came across cumberland animal hospital. The people on the phone were extremely polite an set a appointment right away.. I highly recommend Cumberland vet. The doctor is very nice and knowledgeable. The staff is great and has a clean environment. I was very comfortable and my kitten was too! Very easy to schedule an appointment and the prices are very fair. I was expecting my bill to be a little bit more and was shocked to find that I've been over charged at another vet for the same services for my other pet. I will be transferring records to Cumberland vet. And it did not smell like an animal in the areas either like some other vets office. Very short wait time as well. Very happy with their service!! I can't say enough positive things about the staff at Cumberland Animal Hospital!  After several years of bouncing around animal hospitals, we have finally found one that will stick. The facility kept beautifully clean and is a warm environment.   They are always willing to squeeze one of our pets in if they are having an emergent problem.We recently had to put our beloved cat down, and all of the Dr's and staff at the hospital were super supportive and kind through the whole process.  The Vet took the time to speak with us over the phone several times to advise us about medications and diagnostic options.  They worked with us on trying to get the right blood tests and keeping the cost down as much as they could.  They even sent us a sympathy card in the mail reassuring us that we had made the right decision when the time came.  I felt that they really understand how much we love our pets and we could tell that they care so much about every animal they treat! We took our pup here for the first time the other night. I really liked the staff everyone was very friendly and the vet we saw was great with our little girl! The only reason I give it four stars and not five is because we had to wait about an hour for our appointment. There were a couple of emergencies that night which we had no problem waiting our puppy was perfectly entertained playing with the other dogs in the waiting room and gathering pats and kisses from the staff and other customers! This is a wonderful vet practice.  Everyone from the receptionist, techs, vets are caring and so gentle with the animals.  I have been going here for 10 years.  During these past 10 years 3 of my cats had to be euthanized due to significant illnesses.  Dr. Devlin was wonderful to the cats and then to me as well.  She even asked me if I was ok to drive after it was over.  And if you have to have your animal in overnight, someone on staff lives in an apartment upstairs, so if there is any issue......the animals will be ok.
