My 12 yr old EB recently passed. Since there has been so much loss in my life recently I chose not to save her ashes. We brought her to the clinic to have them take care of her remains. We recently adopted an older pup (Lady) through the Humane Society of NE / Petsmart Adoption Center. She's a southern gal who went through way too many hands before ending up with us. She was, understandably, anxious while waiting in the office. It was in places like the vets office that she usually changed hands. Everyone spoke to her in soft tones, petted her gently and made her feel at ease. Well, as much "ease" as any dog feels at the vet! They managed to calmed my own anxieties a bit as well! Everyone ogled over what an adorable mix she is, and how wonderful her temperament is. She was doted on by everyone she met at the office! It seemed to me that everyone there genuinely enjoys working with animals all day.Things I really like, besides how they treated Lady. - * They have later office hours, so we were able to come to a 6:15pm appointment. There was only one other dog that we saw while there, which was good for our Lady, since she was already dealing with some anxiety. * They did not PUSH any unnecessary treatments or products. We were already planning to start heart worm prevention, and a flea/tick topical. So those things were an easy sell. But they did not try to push anything else. Lady has a little growth beneath the skin on her chest that does not cause her pain. They did not recommend doing a biopsy on it unless it started to grow quickly, cause her pain, or some other type of sudden change. You know some vets would have her on the operating table! * I found the price to be fair. She had a checkup with a stool sample. We also purchased 6 months of heart worm prevention, and flea/tick topical. All in all, the bill was about $250. The medicines alone can cost over $200 for 6 months! So I think that the pricing at the office is pretty reasonable considering that they are also doing a test. Read Less

I have been taking my precious dog to this vet clinic since she was a tiny pup.  The receptionists are always friendly and helpful.  My dog is treated like a celebrity when she arrives.   The vet techs come out front to see her as soon as we open the front door.  They love taking pictures of her (i dress her up just for them)! The veterinary care my dog gets is exemplary and phenomenal.  The vets love her and treat her like she was their own dog.  I had to have one of her molars pulled (she broke it and had an exposed nerve) and that procedure requires anaesthesia.  When I called later that day to check on her, I was informed that my dog was fine and....the vet was actually holding her so that she wouldn't wake up from anaesthesia alone.  One of the receptionists held her on her lap for 2 hours after that. The phones are answered promptly and professionally.  You can get emergency appointments usually same day.  They sell many veterinary products at excellent prices.  I LOVE my vet. Read Less

Having had cats most of my life, I was not worried about having them neutered, until I arrived the morning of the appointment. The staff from the getgo seemed very focused on upselling collars, ID chips, bloodwork etc, rather than explaining what the benefit might be to the animal/owner. When I asked for one vial of the pain med(have 2 cats) I was rudely told by the vet tech that I could not use the meds for both cats, only one, and that I must like one of the cats better than the other. The vet tech then abruptly took the carrier from me and marched out of the room. Not so much of a "don't worry, we'll take good care of them", or "the doctor will call you after the procedure for an update." When I spoke to the doctor later and explained how rude this tech was, the doctor told me what a good vet tech she was, and they understood how anxious people get when there pets have a procedure. Actually, I was not anxious until I got there and felt pressured to purchase services and products not needed, and then treated rudely when I didn't purchase them. Having used this clinic for 15 years, mostly when Doc Hansen was there, I can say I won't go back. BTW the kittys recovered well, one bottle of the pain med was plenty , just in case the vet tech reads this! I give 2 stars only because the cats survived the experience without complications, but providing good veterinary care is more than doing a surgical procedure accurately. Read Less

I didn't just love them, so did my Jax.... which is all that matters. My boy was sick. I called them in the morning and they did all they could to calm me and get Jax in asap. The visit was only $50. My Jax left there and came home with me happy. The two ladies at the desk were awesome! The Vet Tech... terrific. And I cannot say enough about the Veterinarian. . She was perfect. My Shepherd had seizure. .. they basically gave us directions for tuffs. Charge us $50 ...really. could have told me that over phone. COLD Hearted . Won't be going back. They turned a scary situation w my baby ... into something worse because they just show no compassion. Saddens me . Read Less

These guys are a bunch of jokes. I ask them to get my cat neutered and they say they need an annual visit first. I say the cat had it already....they say they need to "build a relationship" with the cat. I ask is there a medical reason for this? They say "its the law. So then I call Abbot Valley (4232 Diamond Hill Rd, Cumberland, RI 02864) And of course they tell me they can't do it without an examination. I ask why and the lady there was amazing. She told me the complications that can arise from anesthesia and cats, the types of tests, and the reasons for the tests. So ask yourself this? Do you want the people who say "its the Law" looking at your cat? Or do you want the people who actually know what theyre talking about? Read Less

My dog is petrified (he loves all people) of them so they want to medicate him before a muzzle? And they didn't give all the vaccines I requested which now prevents him from going to daycare for two weeks. They need their old vets and old techs back that new what they were doing. Already in search of another vet. Read Less

The staff was friendly and pleasant, I had no complaints about thier personnel. However, I was shocked at thier prices. They provided me with a $1,000 estimate to get a very small growth removed from my two year old pooch. The estimate included blood work and would require my pup to be completely knocked out. I took her elsewhere and had the procedure done for less than half the price. Additionally, they didn't need to use any sedation, they simply gave her local anesthesia. I am not a professional vet by any stretch, but it seems like this vet goes over and beyond what is needed which results in a larger than needed bill. Read Less

Beware of this clinic. They prescribed medicine for my cat that clearly stated on package "Only for Dogs". But since I left the building with my cat before noticing, they would not give me a refund. Can you say SCAM! It maybe the law that they can't take it back, but take the hit for your screw up, and refund my $32. Fool me once, shame on you....you won't get the chance to fool me again. I love this office. They were with me when we found out my older dog had cancer, and eventually had to euthanize him. They have been with me through my current dog and his two bowel resection surgeries (emergency performed at OSVS) always willing to help and I recommend them to everyone. Read Less

I am sorry but I will NEVER bring my pet to this place again. Let me tell u why My cat Mishu got sick. Wouldnt move and just laid there. His bladder was as big as soft ball. Because I couldnt pay for the operation to unblock him they wouldnt help him and were just going to let him die. They shoved me into a room with my cellphone trying to find another vet. Finally I called Synp clinic on 9 Church Street in Pascog and they saved him. Then on my way out they made me pay 75.00 because I saw the dr. I brought my one year old pup to Diamond Hill Clinic for a medical visit to check his eyes out as he was beginning to develop an irritation. Informed them that I believe it was allergies. When I called I was quoted 51.00 and wss assured that I can always call for pricing. When I came for the visit they began testing my dog for several issues, not informing me that each test would cost over 50.00 each. When they finally concluded that he does in fact have allergies they gave me two prescriptions to better the irritation. When I got to the counter they charged me 220.00! I explained that I was not told this and an explanation of costs should be told to the client before charged. She said she could take back the perscriptions if I'd like!! The only thing he needed!! I feel extremely disgusted that it cost me nearly an entire week's pay for them to tell me what I knew. I feel violated, broke, and disgusted.Read Less

I recently took my newly adopted dog to this clinic. The staff was friendly and really seemed to know there stuff. I had plenty of questions since its been many years since I've had a dog and everyone I talked to seemed happy to answer them all. They really held my hand every step of the way. The lady vet was great and even had her assistant let me know how much things would cost before they did them. He went over the costs of things line by line and explained what everything was. I think it was the same big guy the other reviewer talked about. He was great with my dog and talked to her the whole time to keep her calm. When I payed my bill there were no surprises and the cashier even came out from behind the counter to pet my dog. The icing on the cake is that I was in and out in about half an hour.
