I'm am so upset and will never bring my pets here ever again. The women that "treats" exotic animals was beyond incompetent. I brought my hedgehog in and she didnt know how/was afraid to hold him. She admitted to me that she had literally just looked at a textbook before my appointment and she must've not looked very well because she gave me awful advice. She really had no idea what she was talking about. She weighed my hedgehog and told me he weighed 123 grams yeah well when I brought him back to the breeder (who did such a better exam since the vet didn't even touch him) she said that yes he lost weight but he was actually 165 grams which is a HUGE difference for such a small animal. She got upset with me when I refused to feed him food that has awful ingredients and literally has wood in it and did nothing but torture him trying to force him to unball and would not listen to me when I told her how to get him to cooperate. so listen to this, i came in one day to ask questions. im new to the area im originally from outside of new england and i brought my 2 kittens with me, so i was asking front desk to cut there nails, spray and neuter my two fur babies. wellllll they dont have pro active listening skills to say the least they automatically assumed because i said i want to "cut my cats nails" they assumed i wanted to declaw them.. NO i know thats inhumane i would never! and they were getting off topic so many different times, i was expressing how important this is to me. considering i have an 8 week old kitten * male * and a 12 week old kitten *female* and what threw me off was this statement " if i was you id get them fixed asap before your condo smells like cat pee, and you will have a house full of cats", the lack of professionalism is not acceptable. so everybody do yourself a favor. take the extra drive and go somewhere else this place is a joke within the 1 EXPERIENCE i would never go here. I have been going to Lincoln Animal Hospital for about 15 years. The staff has always been extremely caring and compassionate toward my dogs. Currently I have two dogs and one of them has extreme stranger issues. The technicians have gone out of their way to get to know him so he is now very comfortable. I took my dog for his physical today. The staff is caring, and great with handling him, especially when he gets nervous. I was seen on time, and both the doctor and tech took the time to make him more comfortable in the exam room while performing their assessments. First of all, the Lincoln Animal Hospital website needs to be updated.  I called, based on research, because my lovebird is exhibiting some odd behavior and I want to have him checked out.  I called Lincoln Animal Hospital as their website clearly says, based on their 'Avian & Exotic Pet' section, that they have vets to treat these types of animals, INCLUDING BIRDS. When I called this morning, the girl was pretty rude and told me they don't treat birds.  She rushed through giving me contact information for two other locations in RI that do specialize in birds and then hung up on me. If I'm getting that kind of treatment over the phone, I don't dare even begin to wonder what kind of treatment I'd actually get if I were to step foot in this place.  ME THINKS NOT! Read Less

Don't take your pets here! Took my dog there just to change a bandage around his cast they charged me almost $200.00 the work they did was awful the bandage kept coming off doctor was very rude about it I took my dog back to ocean state and they told me that the Doc removed his cast which was supposed to still be under the bandage so I had to pay ocean state another $200.00 to remake another cast for my dog which shouldn't have been taken off in the first place and spoke with management they offers to refund me $30.00 for the bandage they had put on.!are you serious? I had to pay for something they did wrong and they would not pay me for the $200.00 I had to pay to have a new cast put on that should have never been taken off please do not bring your pets here. I used to go to this vet/clinic but not anymore. They are very heartless and don't seem to care about your pets. I took my cat there for an emergency visit and they were super rude & the wait was insane. Happy that we got a new vet. I don't suggest this place with their lack of customer service. Read Less

I followed Dr. Candace Harris from her prior location to Lincoln Animal Hospital.  I live in East Providence -- there are other vets closer, but none like Dr. Harris.  Following her was the right decision, as Lincoln Animal Hospital is a perfect fit.  All the vets and the techs and assistants at Lincoln Animal Hospital are compassionate, knowledgeable, kind and truly care about every pet that comes through the door.  The hospital is well-maintained.  I never feel pressured about procedures or making purchases of products I do not need.  In fact, I find quite the opposite.  My two dogs have both had issues that required ultrasounds, blood work, cultures etc.  The doctors took the time to research conditions that could have more than one diagnosis.  It is trial and error, just as with humans.  I find the doctors at Lincoln Animal Hospital always put the patients' best interest first -- they look for a direction to move forward before ordering unnecessary steps.    I highly recommend anyone bring their pet to Lincoln Animal Hospital.  You won't be sorry.  From your first phone call and conversation with the receptionists straight through to your visit with the vet, you will speak with quality staff who will answer your questions and heed your concerns.  Donna Mace Read Less

The workers here are so kind and loving to my new puppy! It's a local small vet clinic. Very clean and well maintained. The doctor was very nice and would answer all of my questions but I felt like she really didn't check my dog fully. She is a new puppy that I just got and I have grown up with dogs and gone to their vet visits my whole life. It felt like there were some things that my other vets have done in the past that were routine, like look closely in the ears, really feel different parts of the dog etc. Not sure if we will be back but I did like the service of all the other staff! The people here are nice but I felt as if they were more concerned about the money going into their pockets rather than my dogs health. They make you feel as though they have your animals best interest in mind while they're actually just trying to sell you products and medicines you don't really need. I definitely didn't leave here a satisfied customer and more than likely will not be back, I'd rather bring my dog to a vet that cares more about her and less about the money I'm spending. Read Less

Sadly, these vets do not care about animals, they only care about money and lining their own wallets. They advertise as a full service vet hospital, but this is far from the truth; rather, they can do nothing for sick animals, other than refer them to the East Greenwich Animal Hospital. They specialize in giving vaccinations and selling medications. They are unprofessional and GREEDY. My advice is to find a vet that gives low cost vaccinations, if you need to spay or neuter your animal check out the Spay and Neuter Clinic in Warwick, they are fantastic and charge a fraction of the cos. I've brought both of my cats here before. They have each been treated for tapeworms before (last was about 4 months ago which they have on record). I use topical flea treatment since they were old enough, but with 3 dogs in the house it's still a constant battle. Especially since our newest dog came to us pregnant and we had 5 puppies that couldn't be treated.With that being said my male cat had to go in for tapeworms again. I brought a segment in a specimen container I had from the last appointment. The woman at the front desk was wonderful. She said that it was definitely a tapeworm and maybe they could just prescribe the Profender and maybe check his weight and we could be on our way.Apparently Dr. Harris didn't feel that that recommendation was sufficient. So disregarding his full examination 3 and 1/2 months ago for the same exact issue. I was charged $59.00 for Dr. Harris to speak to me like I was an idiot who didn't know how to handle a small flea problem. Everything to told me to do to handle the flea issue, I had just finished telling her that we were already doing at home weekly (flea baths, collars, topicals, combing, laundering everything, vacuuming, treating the house, etc).She spoke down to me as if I were in a lesser being who couldn't possibly understand the complicated things she was saying. I was extremely insulted. They also were trying to force me to purchase Seresto collars with them (which I already had purchased) even though they were dead set against them the last time I was there for the same issue 3 and 1/2 months ago. They kept telling me they were so bad because they weren't breakaway and a dozen other reasons why they were evil.I'm guessing the sudden change of heart had something to do with the fact that they weren't selling them before, but now they were...and at the customary inflated rate of most veterinarians. And when I let the woman at the front desk know that I had no intentions of purchasing the collars with them, she pushed very hard to get me to buy at least 1. At least she wasn't rude. Clearly Dr. Harris is more concerned with making herself feel superior while she gouges your pockets than just doing the right thing to help the animals who go there. So sick of money grubbing vets with no bedside manner.Definitely looking for another doctor for my fur babies. Read Less

About 10yrs ago I was taking my dogs to lincoln,I had 3 dogs so I was there often,one day I called my dog screaming in the background and they said they couldn't see me till the next day.i called another vet and he took him in and he had to have emergency surgery if I would have waited for lincoln he would have died..I was a regular there with one of my dogs and cats,just know how they are still in business. I love the Lincoln animal hospital! They are so nice, gentle and efficient when dealing with my 100lb dog Tuxedo. I recently moved to the area and had brought him to a place prior who was trying to get me to put him under to X-ray his hips and potential brake them and urging me I needed to do this based on just looking at him. I have now been to the Lincoln animal hospital 5 times and they have not once mentioned this or pressured me into any of my purchases. Tux recently was diagnosed with Lyme disease after waking up on a Saturday and could not move his front leg to walk at all. Not having an appointment and being extremely busy they took the time to look at my dog and help him to get better.  I LOVE this location... I've been coming here for a few years now with my 2 cats. One is now about 12 and the other is 17. The older one has had early stages of kidney failure and terrible gum disease. I love it here. The girls are all very kind and compassionate. They have a few different vets, I don't choose one, so sometimes I don't get the same one every time. Not a problem for me but, if you want one in particular, you may want to ask.I've had my Bubba for 7 years and along the way he had what we thought were constipation issues. His old vet just extracted what was in there and nothing more. When I got to LAH I told them I have financial difficulties and they ran EVERYTHING by me before they did it! Even called the house when I had to leave him there one time so we could discuss the next best course of action for Bubba and my wallet. We were able to hold of on blood work and ultrasounds, saving me hundreds for sure. It ended up he has kidney disease and weak muscles- poor boy!These people are all animal lovers- they want to help your baby, not pick your pocket. No unexpected expenses or tests. Overall I like the vets and the facility, but the last visit was so much of a let down in terms of time and cost. We had scheduled an appointment over the phone over a week before the date, only to find out when we arrived (on a weekday) that the receptionist didn't save the appointment in the computer. The lady helping us said we could wait if we wanted, but that they were booked. Obviously, sitting around for a couple hours so we might get squeezed in was not in our schedule. So, we had to schedule a new appointment and come back. If it weren't summer, this would have seriously messed up our hours in terms of our jobs-- we just happen to be lucky that there is a lot more flexibility in our work during the summer.Then, when we had the appointment the vet ran two in-house wellness blood tests without warning me that it would cost a LOT more money. I almost cried when we checked out. 531 dollars! The blood tests were more than the vet exam. Ouch. I expected something in the range of 300 dollars, since that's how much is usually costs for the exams for two animals, the routine vaccinations, and the Heartguard. I was also getting as-needed medication for one dog, so I expected a bit more of a charge, but not two hundred more!Since the vet was aware one of our dogs had 2 major surgeries recently, I really wish she would have considered warning me about the cost when deciding that running the blood tests before going ahead with the vaccinations would be a good idea. Seriously, 531 dollars...that's half an MRI test for a dog at the ER. (I would know).So, the crimp in our finances and the dropped appointment makes me have to give LAH three stars for now...if they redeem themselves I promise to come back and revise the review. This is a great vet! My pet was sick and they fit him in right away (unlike any other place I called). This is the best vet I've ever been too. Very comfortable place and everyone is very friendly. My two cats have been going here since they were kittens. They r 11 now. Dr Almeida was their dr forever and then on their recent visit, they got a new doctor-no one called to let me know which i was annoyed about, but whatever they had to have their check ups. Dr Scotto discovered one of my cats was severely constipated and the other one she found out after bloodwork, has kidney disease. She said it would cost $2000 to treat her and she couldnt promise a good quality of life. She basically told me i should just put her to sleep. I was waiting for the blood tests for patches-the constipated cat-and a different vet called me to say she had high calcium levels, and "its either hormonal or Cancer" i was like what? Wouldnt cancer show up on the blood work n she said yeah. I was dumbfounded. If cancer WOULD show up on bloodwork, and it obviously didnt, how could Cancer even be an option?? She too asked what i decided to do with Peaches. I was annoyed that they were trying to rush me into putting my cat to sleep! I said shes doing alot better so im not doing anything for now. Dr Scotto didnt know if what she was feeling was a tumor or a kidney. Didnt she go to veterinary school? How can she not tell? She made me nervous enough to get me to do an xray. Anyways, the last thing about Lincoln Animal Hospital that pissed me off is plain old customer service. They gave me a bottle of meds for Patches constipation and i asked the girl to mark on the syringe the proper dosage. She made a rude remark saying, "its on the bottle" i wanted to say I DONT CARE IF ITS ON THE BOTTLE JUST DO WHAT I ASKED but im not a rude person so i brushed it off saying im forgetful. She again made a snide remark, "I dont even know what id use to write on it with.." To which i returned my own remark, "How about the Sharpie thats right there??" She said oh i didnt even see it. Then she marked the syringe and ONCE MORE said another sarcastic/catty comment-Is that good enough for you?!" She was such a bitch but the other girl w short dark hair was pleasant as anything. The girl im talking about has blonde highlights and is short. The next time she was strangely alot nicer; maybe someone complained. I know one thing; i will never in my life go back here because they are just out for the $$$$ and to simply put ur animal to sleep instead of pushing treatments! The only reason i will go back (if i have to) is to get a copy of both my cats' records! Read Less

We got our pup about 2 years ago and i looked everywhere for a vet since i was new to the area at the time, and was referred here. They're always extremely friendly here and not just to me but to my little guy as well. Last summer the little guy got sick and like any mother i was in an absolute panic.. he kept throwing up everything he ate and i was freaking out. I brought him in and the vet tech remembered my dog right off the bat, and even remembered details of our last visit. I'm sure its in notes they write down but it definately put me at ease and made me feel like i wasn't just dollar signs coming in. Rather then running all these expensive tests that i probably would have been all for at the time out of desperation to make him feel better.. they started off with the cheaper option and told me to see how it goes and if he wasn't better than they'll run all the tests. Turns out, the new food they gave me for stomach issues was exactly what he needed at the time. It only cost me about 50 bucks and he was fine by morning. I was so thankful. They run deals on flea meds as well as heartworm meds and it's my go to place. They're always extremely accomodating and they'll reccomend things over the phone to save me an unnecessary vet bill. I've been going to LAH for 22 years after they were recommended to me by a breeder. Through those 22 years we have had terrific care. Starting as puppies, through midlife into old age LAH has provided outstanding care for my dogs. They understand the needs of the animal and those of the owner. Aw this place. The vets are always so kind and compassionate to my family and our pets we have had. Last fall my dog was diagnosed with cancer and they were so helpful while and gave us all the information we needed. When my dog did eventually pass we were touched to receive a sympathy card from them. Also when my mom went in to give them the leftover and unopened medicine our beloved dog didn't get to use they happily gave her some money back even though I'm sure they threw it out.  When I get another dog or pet I'll be sure to bring them back here.
