This entire organization is wonderful and even better served with their new facility. Dr. Lorenson in particular is just phenomenal. She was so kind when putting down my two childhood pets (separately) at home euthanizations. She has treated all of my pets as if they were members of her own family.Recently with my new kitten she spent at least 20 minutes just playing with him. Since it was his first visit, she was careful and calm. I could not believe that she and the assistant were so patient, bribing him with treats to get on the scale to gain his trust rather than just grabbing him. It significantly increased his mood and has kept the vet from being a stressful experience.Appointments are easy to get and they have flexible hours. Additionally, I have never had to wait long to be seen which can be a blessing with a stressed animal in a loud waiting room.I am forever grateful to this organization! Read Less

Being a new pet mom I have lots of questions I called about chew toys for my teething puppy, I got answer instantly on phone but Kailin felt like she got off phone abruptly (which she didnt-IMO) to care for an another dogs need. So she called me after hours to explain dental care at full length and set aside a dental kit for my puppy. Very personable doctors. Highly recommended, prices are reasonable. I was referred to this vet by a coworker whose dog ate socks frequently lol and the staff here were available during closed hours during this time which i always want to here. my pup is 12 years old and we come here for our annual check ups. they have 3 rotating vets which are all great as well as the vet techs! I think my dog wants to go to the vet everytime we get in the car now! She had an eye ulcer (we later found out) and i was unable to get off of work so my fiance dropped her off in the morning and i asked if i can pick her up after work and they were able to work with us so that she can be seen. They closed at 6pm and when i got there she was hanging out on the lap of the receptionist! which im sure she loved all of the attention she was getting. 2 revisits later and a medicine adjustment she is back to normal and loving all the treats she got during her vet visits! Very happy I found a vet i like and a staff that loves my dog and treat her so well!Rechecks are $39, and they are fairly easy to get an appointment specifically when there is a specific issue. Dr Bergmann and his wife run a wonder vet clinic.  The atmosphere is very clean and organized.  Everyone that works there clearly loves animals, and are great to deal with.  There appointments are very timely we have had positive experiences every time we bring our dog in.  I would highly recommend the Wickford Veterinary Clinic, and will continue to bring my dog there for years to come! Wickford Veterinary Clinic was very supportive during the time our dog had a leg injury. We were visiting family with our dog and didn't anticipate any veterinary needs. The clinic took us in immediately and the staff was helpful and professional. The injury ended up being much more serious, ultimately requiring amputation. Her diagnosis was unclear and despite not being our regular office they went above and beyond by offering additional expertise and a second opinion when we were facing the amputation. Their advice ended up being absolutely correct. It was the right call and we hope our dog will have another 10 years of happiness with the kids. Thank you Wickford! Read Less

We have been bringing our dogs and cat to Wickford Clinic for almost 10 years.  The quality of care is exceptional.  The intelligence of the practitioners, the care of the entire staff and the sound advice make this the best practice for large dogs that we have experienced in over 40 years of having large dogs in our home.  Dr. Rodehorst goes the extra mile through the good times and the tough times of living with large dogs.  I was in the process of recommending the practice to a friend with a sick large dog  and noticed the last review which prompted my posting this review.  Our experience with four large dogs is that the Clinic is very good value and like any medical issue you should be prepared to discuss the pros and cons of various treatment options.  They have been fair, balanced and honest. We have been going to Wickford Vet Clinic since 1985. Dr Pepin saved a stray (they weren't rescue dogs back then) we adopted that had a very serious case of heart worm. Dr Wietsma took care of oxide dog and two cats. Dr Rodehorst is taking care of our current German Shepherd. Regardless of which Dr. saw our pets, In the 30 years we have being customers we have always received the most reliable, accommodating, friendly and compassionate care from the Doctors and staff. They truly recognize that your pet is a cherished member of your family. I would recommend them to new pet owners as well as folks who are looking for a new veterinarian service. Read Less

My dog has a chronic heart condition. WVC has helped him reach the age of 14, years past his prognosis. Now he had developed kidney and liver failure, and they are balancing the requirements of his heart disease w the need to improve his renal function. Not easy to do, but nearly six months into it, my beautiful friend is doing well, way beyond my expectations. Again, really not an easy accomplishment. Highest recommendation. Read Less

these guys are great! very friendly and professional. I called in the morning and they got right back to me. I managed a slot throughout the day and what is usually a somewhat traumatic visit for both me and my cat seemed effortless. I live in Providence and between my daughter and I, we have 11 pets. We would go to the ends of the earth to see Dr. Lorenson and Dr. Saslaw. We followed them because they are the BEST. They help our animals and us when our animals are ill. They care as much about the owner as they do the pets. We have had some pretty tough patches with our animals and are always extremely happy with the love, care, concern, treatment and hand holding they provide us. Place is a rip-off. All these doctors will do is try and get you to pay for unnecessary tests, bloodwork, iv treatments, etc... Just took my puppy there and they convinced me to do a parvo test even though she was already vaccined for it 2 months prior and, sure enough, it cam back negative. They also told me the parvo test would take 30 minutes to setup so I should come back. They used the time to conveniently hook my puppy up to a iv for sugar and claimed my puppy probably would die if I didn't send it to an overnight clinic like Ocean State(another rip off joint!) as I'm sure they would be getting commission for hooking up the referall. I told them give me my dog back now and I would take care of it. I went home, called for a 2nd opinion and simply was told hypoglycemia is very common in toy breed yorkie puppies and that i could simply wipe its gums with honey every 4-5 hours to keep it's blood sugar level up. I was told many yorkie puppies suffer from this for the 1st 4-5 months of their lives but making sure it's sugar level is up and is eating will most likley prevent any seizures or anything bad. What a crock trying to get my dog into an overnight stay for $1000 plus. Not the 1st time this place has tried scaring my wife and I into unnnecessary treatments at top dollar.
