I've brought my dog here for years for physicals and vaccinations.  I boarded my dog (who has anxiety issues that they are well aware of) last year.  He ended up breaking some of his teeth while attempting to get out of his crate (no one noticed this??) and I wasn't informed until the next day.  I still gave them another chance (figuring as his vet they would go out of their way to make him comfortable after the last mishap) and the person I spoke to on the phone confirmed that the vet would be giving him some extra attention and anxiety medication if he needed it.  I got there to check him in and the individual checking him in could give me none of the guarantees the person I spoke to on the phone did.  He spoke to the vet that was there multiple times in the back and no one came out to talk to me.  No thank you.  I ended up taking my pup home and missing my vacation.  Thanks Gansett! I boarded my 3 dogs with the Gansett Animal Hospital for 3 and  1/2 days because they are the sister facility of the vet office I've been taking my dogs to for over 8 years. I will never board my animals with Gansett again. The care we got was less than desirable. To say that I am upset is an understatement!Two of my three dogs came home with severe diarrhea. If that's not upsetting enough, when we picked the dogs up from the facility Sunday morning - one of them was caked in his own diarrhea. He had clearly been sitting in his own feces all night. It was on his neck, his back, and his hind legs...which then got all over the upholstery of my car because the vet tech was unable to clean him off.The vet tech was the only person there. She seemed overwhelmed and unequipped to deal with all the dogs alone. My dogs clearly had not been taken out to relieve themselves as they all immediately had accidents on the office floor the minute they were brought out of the kennels.I paid an extra fee for them to administer ear and eye drops to my female dog. I found out the same morning that the vet tech was administering the drops to the wrong dog. She had been giving it to my boy dog who was covered in his own feces instead of the dog I specially had them make a note of. She said she was unable to give him his drops today because she was dealing with his poop situation. Ok...but it's the wrong dog!I left three healthy dogs in their care and now I have two dogs who are suffering from severe diarrhea. We even brought them their own food to avoid any stomach upset issues because they have food allergies. I honestly have no idea how two of them ended up getting sick while in their care. For 540 dollars, at a vet facility - no animal should come out of boarding ill and covered in their own poop. Read Less

The doctors at Gansett took excellent care of my cat for his entire 16 years. The vet techs, receptionists and other employees are also warm, friendly and welcoming. They even sent me a condolence card after my kitty died. Read Less

Brought our older dog in for an exam with short notice because he just wasn't acting himself. Tyler was so caring, thorough and extremely helpful! He made us and our pup feel comfortable and answered any of the questions that we had. It's reassuring to know that the staff members actually care about the pets! Read Less

My son brings his pet rats here for healthcare. I came along for the ride (40 mins each way) & was seriously impressed with how clean the place is and smells. Hate the parking lot but the rat care is highly recommended. Read Less

I had a horrible experience. There all about the money. Took my dog had to pay 350 and didnt even fix the problem. I wouldnt bring your pets to this place . you wont get any results. My dog still in pain. Dont waste your time. There all for the money Read Less

I glad I checked them out for myself.... there were a lot of reviews about high prices but I'm new to the area and I needed my puppy checked asap! The staff was wonderful not only with my anxious screaming puppy, but answered all of my (I'm sure) stupid questions and never made me feel like I was overreacting or prolonging the appointment. Been bringing my animals here for years. Super friendly staff. Take me in for acute visits. Vets and techs are fabulous. But the prices feel high. I had to pay over $200 for some fluids and to straight cath her to try to get some urine and meds. Shot and oral meds. For a UTI! Of course I paid for it and that's not the first time I was like oh wow that's a lot of money for that. So if you're prepared to spend some money then you'll get awesome care. They allowed me time to be with Jasmine after we passed over the Rainbow Bridge. They gave me some of her hair. And a couple of days later, they sent me a beautiful card with Jasmine's paw print. I took both of my dogs there at the last minute for their shots. Not only did I not have to wait, they were swift with the procedure and even took the time to examine a tumor that had just shown up on my pug's neck. Not only did Dr. Schneider reassure me that she didn't think it was anything bad, she explained what she thought it was, and how to treat it st home. I called today to bring my dog in who i thought at the time was dying.. found her on the floor spread eagle when i got home form work and they said theyr were too booked to take her in now. i said i live 5 blocks away and she wnated me to take it to some north kingston place at 5 in the pm.. the is the 2nd dog they told me no to... will never again call or go there and not recommend to any one. and the other dog i had to put down and i wasan't even a client where it took her to.. immedialtely Read Less

For the first time I left the vet feeling that the vet was competent! They gave me great advice, didn't treat me like I've never owned a dog before and were able to give me a treatment that worked. If you want to feel confident that your money is well spent this is the place you should go! Sure if you live on the east side this might be a little "far" but hey, if you have the time to spare this is the place to go! The only thing that I would ask is that they need to be a little more efficient up front at the desk. I think I spent half my time waiting for someone to check me in and check me out and even when there was someone there they just slowly went along....They have a lot of parking both in front and in back. This place use to be the BEST place ever to take your pets. My dog was taken there when she was a puppy 13 years ago, the original doctors were the best!! The new owners are money hungry snakes!! They charge you crazy prices with poor bed side manner!!! I had to put my dog to sleep and she couldn't go to her normal vet for this process because the prices were so high. The ONLY person within this organization that was at all sympathetic was Bill who answered the phone. I will NEVER EVER EVER recommend this place to anyone. Do not bring your animal here!! The vet is crazy. My sister was in the room while her cat received 5 shots and had her temp taken. As you can imagine, the cat was a bit unhappy. The vet continued to examine her, and when it came time to pay, my sister was suddenly told that her cat had bitten the vet and broken skin. My sister was in the room the whole time and not once did the vet even act like nor mention that the cat had bitten her. She was told that the vet was contacting animal control and that they would have to take the cat for 10 days. This was completely ridiculous and seemed extremely suspicious since during the entire exam, the supposed ""bite"" was never mentioned to my sister, nor did my sister see the cat bite the vet. They had no problem continuing the exam and taking the payment, but suddenly, after payment was received, there was an issue... This place is crazy - do not bring your pet there!!! Read Less
