All I can say is that I have never met more compassionate , caring and honest people as I did these past two weeks. The entire staff at Scituate Animal Hospital..from the woman at the desk, the techs and the vet are all wonderful. Two weeks ago we had to take or very ill Honey to be checked... she did well on the medication diet she was given then went downhill..we returned yesterday only to find that the opening into her stomach was the size of o fingertip if that...the vet explained the 3 things which could be causing this..a stenosis, cancer or inflammation..there were made for inflammation but if taken and it was not that she could have ruptured and bled out at home. Since she had gone through a major surgery last year, and was 13 years old, we knew that she could never withstand surgery and if cancer was the diagnosis she definitely would never have tolerated the meds. So we had to have her euthanized. The whole staff was so compassionate and caring. I cannot say enough wonderful things about everone... they treated Honey with dignity and made one of the saddest days of our life as tolerable as possible. I have looked far and wide for a vet that can handle my Chesapeake because he is not an easy dog to work with. They took my dog in quickly even though I wasn't a regular customer there yet and my dog needed surgery. Dr. ONeil was amazing, patient and extremely competent. She made me feel confident in leaving my dog in her care. They are also extremely well priced. I wish I had come here a long time ago. I drive an hour just to get there, past many other vet hospitals with "great reviews & good reputations" because it is that important! I'm thankful for Dr. Oneil, her team, and their wonderful care. Five stars is not enough for situate animal hospital!! They love your animals as much as you do.... they love what they do and it shows!!! last year our Mi-ki had to have knee surgery and they consistently were calling us at night to check on her....!!! Read Less

We love Dr. Farren and all the staff at Scituate Animal Hospital. They are so compassionate.They were with us when our 2 senior dogs crossed the rainbow bridge and they are with us with our 2 labs now. I know I can ask them anything without feeling like a crazy dog mom lol. Read Less

Dr. O'Neil has been taking great care of our 3 bichons and 1 sheepadoodle for years now. I wouldn't trust anyone else with the most important members of our family. She has fantastic bedside manner with her patients, she's always happy to answer questions, and I've never felt rushed in our appointments. Rheumatoid arthritis, allergies, lick granulomas - you name it and Dr. O'Neil has helped us with it. I can relax knowing that if anything ever goes wrong, our dogs have an awesome vet and would be in very capable hands. Thanks, Dr. O'Neil!Also had a visit with Dr. Farren once. She was there to help us when one of our bichons went into organ failure and had to be put down. She was compassionate and just as attentive to us as she was to our dog. We recently had to put our beloved dog down and Dr. Farren and the staff at Scituate were amazing, sympathetic and supportive. Shout out to Dr. Karen Farren, Thank you for your Complete, Confident, and Caring ways while doing My Greyhound Girl Sofie's exam and vaccinations. We did blood work as well, as Sofie is almost 11 years, the blood work was done at 11:30 A.M. One day, with the results emailed to me at 8:30 A.M. The next day! How good is that! Read Less

Great vet!! Been going there for years for all of our pets!! Some of our dogs and cats have had to been treated elsewhere to deal with stuff like cancer and orthopedic surgeons that they don't handle.. They always recommend good places to take your pets NEVOG (New England Veternary Oncology Group) dealt with one of our dogs for cancer treatment and they did the best they could and it was a good job.. I have not had any reason to complain to the vets or Veternary assistance.. Read Less

Very expensive...and don't have an emergency because if you don't have enough money your animal will die because they won't even see you and I've been taking my pet there since they where little and still no compassion Read Less

Drs. O'Neil and Farren gave our two very large dogs the best of care into their ripe old age. We've always found their explanations to be well-reasoned and sensible. Their diagnoses are pretty much on-target.  We wouldn't think of taking Ruska, our newest family member, to any other veterinary practice. Furthermore, the support staff tends to be quite friendly and communicative---a pleasant bonus. Fortunately, Warwick is only a half-hour drive from Scituate! Read Less

Scituate Animal Hospital is a comprehensive, compassionate, incredible veterinarian's office!  We've taken our dog to see Dr. O'Neil for ~ 8 years now.  Our dog has multiple GI issues and the staff here is always thorough with her care plans. They've taken excellent care of our girl and are always accessible for emergency visits (not on weekends though).  Just the best! Read Less

I began taking my dog here this past summer. I had concerns about her, as she had been receiving injections more than once per month to regulate her and I expressed my concern and wanted to explore alternatives. The vet took the time to review the faxed records I sent over and took us on as a new patient. She has been very accomodating with our schedule. I spent a long time looking for a vet I would like (even almost as much) as our past vet, and I'm glad I did the research, as Dr. Farren is great. Read Less

The most kind and compassionate animal hospital that I have ever been to. My bunny was sick, so we went here and Dr. ONeil was so kind and knowledgeable of rabbits, as well we every other animal. She gave us tips on how to help her and medicine for her. She got worse so we took her back in. They did not make us wait and took her in right away. Unfortunately she had passed. They were so compassionate to us and did everything they could to save her. Dr. Chen gave us a hug and promised she was happier now and no longer in pain. I did not feel like I was at a vet... I felt like I was with a close friend mourning the loss of a loved one. She truly felt for both us and our bunny Fluffs. I would highly recommend Scituate Animal Hospital for any breed of animal... especially rabbits... because they know how to treat and care for them like nothing I have ever seen (not many vets do).
