Wish I could give you less then one star. Iv used this place with all my animals and used to love Mello. This place has went totally down hill they killed my 4 year old American bully. He was acting odd so we brought him in and even asked for extra blood work to be done. They said he was fine nothing is wrong. My boyfriend and I were Confused because he wasn't himself didn't eat much and was losing weight putting himself to bed and not wanting to play not to mention drinking water and throwing it right up I explained all this to them and they still said he was Fine. Well 2 days later I come home from work and my dog is dead on the floor. Worst day of my life I bring him back there just for Mello to say if I seen him not my daughter I would have knew he was going down hill  I looked at him pissed off. My dog dies of liver and kidney failure. So when we got blood work how the fuck did they miss this. Will never ever return to this place ever again they lost all my trust. They killed my dog of over 9 years. Had other vets look at her and all her records come back that she is health and as been goes here for one visit and on surgery and then dies 3 months Later I will never ever bring another animal to you. My father pulled his dogs out of there saying they had things wrong with them when they never did. Went here with my dog today. My other vet closed down about a year ago and I had tried to take him to another vet after they closed, but had a horrible experience there, so because my dog was having issues, I decided to try WAH, on the referral of my sister.My 14-year old dog all of a sudden was unable to walk. His hind legs were giving out on him and I was devastated. Was thinking the worst... kidney issues, Lyme Disease, etc. I was VERY hesitant to bring him to the vet because of the last experience I had with a vet, but I knew he needed to go.I called at 8:30 this morning to see if they could see my dog and luckily, they said they could see him this afternoon... okay, good start.... brought him in and this place is busy.... we definitely had to wait, but it wasn't an outrageously long wait... someone else wrote about the 'chaos' behind the desk, and I definitely could see a lot of action and people all over there place back there. So, my dog goes into the exam room and a very young-looking woman comes in and checks him out and instantly finds that it's his 'back' that is the issue, he somehow hurt his back... (I went in there with dread, thinking they were going to tell me the worst and that he needed to be put down)... she prescribed 3 different meds for the pain and inflammation and told me to keep in touch if it gets worse. I was quite relieved.I waited only about 5 - 10 minutes for them to get the meds ready and the girl at the desk went over the dosage info. for each med. But, the bill? The bill was only $84.00 for the visit and the meds.A little over a year ago I had taken my dog to that 'other' vet when the left side of his face and jowl was all swollen on one side. The other vet checked him out and basically told me they had no idea what was wrong, threw about 5 different meds at me and charged me SEVEN HUNDRED DOLLARS!.. they also suggested I bring him in for a CAT scan and other very expensive tests at another facility... and the kicker was that they said that 'euthanasia' might have to be an option, too.... all he had was an ear infection that traveled down. Within a week, he was perfectly fine again with no help from them! I tell that story because I was very gun shy about vets after that, but I was very pleasantly surprised that this young lady seemed to know exactly what it was right away and the fact that they didn't completely screw me with the bill..... very reasonable prices.So, despite some of the bad reviews on here, I had a very good experience with them today. Awesome vet!! Took my dog there as an emergency. (Knew they were good from a friend who took their pets there). They stitched his foot up. Prices are very good ($275 for visit, anesthesia, procedure, unlimited visits for bandage change, stitches removed, antibiotics & pain meds). Excellent staff. They saw my kitty on an emergency basis with no wait. Evaluated the situation and explained what should be done WITHOUT MENTIONING COST FIRSTHAND. They really care about animals. Another place would have turned my kitty away and he would have died in a matter of hours all because I couldn't afford the cost up front. I brought my 16 year old cat for a checkup. It was our first time there. Sadly I don't bring my old man to the vet regularly because of bad experiences. But I heard great things so I gave this place a shot. He hasnt been feeling well and because of his age Ive been extremely worried. Dr. Cooney took care of us and she was absolutely the most pleasant vet I had ever met. She was great with Troubles and he responded quite well to her. She explained thoroughly everything she was doing and why she was doing it. She answered every question I had and was friendly enough to offer some free food samples for him to try a new diet to slowly help Troubles' possible early onset kidney disease. I was completely overwhelmed by how friendly the staff was. I will definitely return with Troubles. Although it took 16 years to find, I think we have found our Vet home. Read Less

One vet said my moms dog had a 75% chance of cancer and it would cost 3-5K to operate, devestated My friend suggested Warren animal Hospital for a 2nd opinion ! Thank you is not enough! !! I've been taking my "kids" to Dr Warren for a few years now and wouldn't ever consider going anywhere else. The professionalism of Dr Warren and her staff is outstanding. A couple of years ago I had to have my amazing Labrador put to sleep and can't thank Warren Animal Hospital enough for their understanding and compassion. Just an update to this review. We now take our dog to Harbor Animal Hospital. Believe me you don't realize just how bad a place is until you leave and find much, much better. They have no windows in their waiting room doors, large exam rooms, no shaky metal table you have to lift your 90 lb dog on and the staff is very concerned with your concerns. As a bonus they are open late so I don't have to take time off of work or interfere with my weekends. My husband and I could not believe our dog hardly growled or barked as they gave him time to get familiar with the room before they came in to do the exam. The doctor answered every question we had as did the vet tech with him. I will NEVER...repeat NEVER go back to WAH again. I also have friends I work with that have left WAH due to bad experiences...don't they get it? Maybe they don't read these reviews...they should. Too many bad ones for an animal hospital as far as I am concerned. We started taking our dog to WAH a while ago. Our dog is very difficult and has to be muzzled and held down to visit the vet. We started seeing Dr Katie and we loved her. She understood a difficult dog a had a lot of patience with him. But when we made appointments and asked for her, when we got there they would schedule us with someone else. Now Dr Katie has left and they stuck us with someone that has no experience with this type of dog and could not answer our questions. When we were in the exam room and he was barking a growling the whole staff from the front desk was peering in the door window as if to see how this newbie doctor would handle the situation...like it was a joke on her. I'm still not laughing. $333.00 later we were not satisfied with our visit. Questions we asked we got "gee I never heard of that before" or "you can schedule another appointment and we can look at that issue further". I would say their front desk staff has something to be desired and they should not put fairly new doctors with difficult patients. We are currently looking for a new vet. Dr Katie we miss you!!!!!!!! We are in the year 2016 and we treat animals a lot better then in the 70s, but what I see is a vet who is stuck in time and truly doesnt care about the pets or customers. 90 degree day out not one water bowl in main waiting room or in exam room, no chair for customer in exam room. 7 people behind desk laughing and eating while dogs are not comfortable. Has not been renovated since the 70s, so hes pocketing all this money when he should be giving back to the clients. Listen there are plenty better vets out there, I walked out there knowing it was the worst vet around just for the fact of if you truly care, you take care of every pet and person as if they are your family, to this place you are a source of income. What you spend your money on is what you support, supporting this guy is supporting his retirement plan and the 7 people standing around eating and drinking plentiful as your dog is in a insane asylum. Two years ago (2014) I brought my dog Foxy, a rat terrier, to have her teeth cleaned. A few hours after I picked her up, she started to develope problems walking. She would randomly fall halfway through her steps. I took her back to Warren Animal Hospital and they said one of her spinal discs was inflamed. They added that if she fell, she could end up paralyzed. I couldn't prove anything, but I believe they dropped her while she was under anesthesia. This morning I left her at East Side Vets to get her teeth cleaned and polished. I just received a call from them. They had to extract 12 (yes TWELVE) teeth! My concern is, how did a dog that eats only Blue Buffalo kibble  for breakfast, carrots, Greenies, and Blue Buffalo canned dinners suffer such tooth decay in a matter of 2 years. I don't believe Warren Animal Hospital did a thorough cleaning. I'm so mad that two years later, I'm still dealing with their incompetence.Don't take your loved one to this place. You will regret it! Dr. Mello is the BEST and Most Experienced Vet in the New England area. We have been breeding AmStaff since 1988. Every time one of our AmStaffs had a medical problem Dr. Mello and his Staff was right there to treat or save the life of our Precious Show AmStaffs. Every ear crop, C-Section, complications during whelp, OFA X-Ray, or any other medical issue was diagnosed and treated at a reasonable price. When my dog George had a big tumor taking off of his forehead they took great care of him and he was no pain what so ever and it only took about 1 hour. And now my dog is so happy that he can roll over again and now I can give him a belly rub so where will not get blood all over the floor and now he can finally have some fun again. Horrific customer service. I purchase my cat's food from them although I have never brought my cats in for a check up because I have ALWAYS had a bad feeling about this vet.I will no longer be purchasing my food there either after the last time I went into the office.I stood in line, behind three people. A man eventually came in and stood in line behind me. I waited in line for TEN minutes, which I didn't mind..... UNTIL they asked the man behind me what they could do for him. AM I INVISIBLE????? An employee eventually finished helping the man that was previously behind me in line. Before he could even turn away from the counter the woman quickly walked away from the desk!! I would have been content with a simple "we'll be right with you", but it was more like "I don't want to help anyone else...I'm outta here!"To add insult to injury five minutes passed before any of the employees asked what they could get me (not "is anyone helping you?" or "sorry for the wait"). It took me over 15 minutes to pick up ten cans of cat food due to the rude and incompetent staff. These situations have happened every single time that I go there, however this was by far the worst I have ever been treated there. If they are this rude towards paying customers I wonder how they treat the pets when their owners leave. You couldn't PAY me to walk back in there. Read Less

I took my cats here but that stopped in 2009. My cat of 16 years woke up one morning and was unable to walk. It was clear that she was very sick and I was unsure weather she needed to be put to sleep. I told my daughter of 11 years old to kiss Sambuca goodbye because she was not doing well and I wasn't sure of what was going to happen. I was on jury duty that day and had to get to Providence as soon as possible so this was devastating for me.When I arrived at the hospital I had Sam wrapped in a blanket because she was incontinent. I came in with her and there were no other customers in the clinic. The rude woman at the front desk yelled at me "Do you have an appointment?" I told her that my cat was very ill and I didn't know if she needed to be put down. She asked again even louder, "I said do you have an appointment?" I told her "this just happened this morning how can I make an appointment? My cat is dying. "She huffed and went to go get the doctor. They sent me into the room, and Dr. Mello came in. He took one look at her then turned around and produced a needle. He proceeded to administer the shot. I said "wait a minute. Is there nothing you can do?" He said there is nothing we can do she needs to be put to sleep. He didn't give any explanation, just came after her with the needle. I held her in my arms bawling  my eyes out. He then threw a box of tissues on the table, turned around, and left the room.I have never in my life been treated with such apathy. Clearly, he doesn't care about his patients and his owners. Putting animals to sleep is just another day for him. Needless to say I will never bring my animals to this place ever again, and I tell everyone I know who has animals,The trauma I went through that day, and to never bring their pets to this vet. We lost our cat of 17 years about a year ago. We used to bring our cat to a nearby vet in Seekonk. They were ok at first but we did not perceive them as a friendly staff. They became too much business, and showed less compassion.  Their prices were also getting too high. Our cat towards the end was slipping downwards with many health problems.  Our vet for many years wouldn't even see him unless we had the money up front. I didn't know what to do until I asked someone at my work who referred us to Warren Animal Hospital.  They showed compassion, and prescribed treatment which gave our cat an extended life.  Their prices are also very reasonable. We took our cat here in August of 2012 to treat a crusty nose and he came back with fleas. He is a housecat that has never been outside and the incubation period for fleas tracked exactly with his visit. However when we called to bring up this possibility the woman on the phone was very rude and pretty much told us it was impossible for him to get fleas there, then reeled off a bunch of inexplicable other scenarios.We didn't call expecting confrontation. I mean, there are animals moving through that place all day, it's not surprising that there could be fleas there. We weren't even demanding free treatment (though I thought it would be offered). But the denial and rudeness really threw us off and put us into an offensive, angry consumer mode. 100$ spent, our house now smells like weird cleaning products and our cat appears worse off than before.We talked to some local pet shops and get some recommendations for better places. I adopted a kitten a while back. The Warren Animal Hospital was more than happy to spay her at right around 6months old. She had to stay overnight (at no extra cost) because of a small complication (floating ovary) but they let me into the back to see her right after work. They even started a de-worming treatment and explained how to do it, when to do it and what to look for. The staff was fantastic and friendly, The prices are fantastic. I was extremely pleased with the caring and efficient staff at Warren Animal Hospital. Jan the Vet Tech was so helpful. My little dog had been frightened by his experience at the groomers and I was so pleased with the caring concern of both she and Dr Crane showed.My dog had an infected ear.I was taught to apply the medication , and given follow up instructions. Jan called the vet where my dog was vaccinated for rabies and had the certificate faxed , so now I have a copy.She also enrolled him for his micro chip.I had not gotten around to doing this because I am not great with the computer. When I arrived at the vet, I thought "Oh my I am going to be here awhile" for the waiting room had quite a few patients. All were well behaved. The owners of the dogs friendly.Quickly , one by one the patients were directed to one of the exam rooms .I noticed the exam rooms had no numbers, but were identified by color. We started bringing our pets to Warren Animal Hospital after the second of our previous vets sent us there for surgery that he did not have the expertise to perform. We decided that if two prior vets (chosen for their proximity to our home) were gonig to refer us to WAH...we should just cut out the middle man and go to the best...and I do mean the BEST! Every single person we've encountered at WAH has been caring and compassionate from the staff to the vets. No matter what we are there for, the doctors always have kind words and are straightforward with us about our options.Dr. Mello brought my aging cat back from the brink of death (kidney disease) several times over the last few years before we finally made the decision to let him go (at age 16!), but through it all, everyone at WAH was wonderful, kind, compassionate and caring.We currently have three Boxers and a cat, all of whom are seen regularly at WAH.
