UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW WHICH YOU CAN READ BELOW THIS REVIEW. ***These people DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PETS!! I received a letter from this vet stating that they read my Google review (a photo of the letter as well as of our pets are included in this review-see below. Also, the blood on the top of our dog’s tail is NOT from the abscess-the vet literally shaved SKIN off of his tail with the hair. He required additional medication from our new vet to treat this injury that Greenwich Valley gave him. I thought vets knew how to shave safely. Yes, the VET did that!) and that my dog was no longer a patient as a result of my review. They dropped him MID TREATMENT for an unresolved abscess and while he had a follow up appointment. We found a new, wonderful vet who very much cares for the animals and whose staff is courteous and appropriate. This is not the first issue we had with this vet. We had another dog previously, who was our world for 14 years. ON THE DAY HE WAS EUTHANIZED for congestive heart failure which the doctor stated was not treatable, I had to BEG for an appointment, once again from Nicole. My dog could not breathe, would not lie down, and was gasping for breath while Nicole tried to tell me that it was “just because he’s an old Pug.” I could write volumes of issues we went through with this place. I can assure you that your pet does NOT MATTER to them. Obviously money matters to them more than anything else including inept office staff, because if they cared about pets they would take steps to correct issues brought to their attention rather than send a customer who left an unfavorable review their pet’s medical records while the pet is activity being treated by them for a serious infection. That’s not caring about animals. That’s cold and greedy and those are two characteristics I do not think anyone would want to entrust their pets’ lives to. Also, our present dog whom they discharged from practice mid-treatment because of an internet review that the pet had no part of, is a 2 year old, blind American Eskimo Pomeranian mix. His name is Ralphie. He did not deserve this. My beloved Pug was Walter. He did not deserve to have to suffer as long as he did because Nicole didn’t want to give him an appointment and who chose to make diagnoses over the phone, which she is not qualified to do. They make the money here at Greenwich Valley Vet, but it’s your pets who pay. And they DO NOT CARE. Punishing people who leave honest reviews on Google by discharging their pets from care because of a review the pet had nothing to do with is NOT compassion for any animal. We used Greenwich Valley for about the past 5-6 years for our rescue mutt. When Dr. Sheckles discover a large tumor a weeks ago, we knew our poor guy only had a short time left. She suggested an x-ray to get a better diagnosis. Last week I took time off from work and brought my dog in for the x-ray, and asked if I could talk to Sheckles about the procedure before leaving him. Rather than discuss the matter, SHE TOOK A CUSTOMER WHO ARRIVED AFTER ME INTO AN EXAMINING ROOM AND SHUT THE DOOR!!! The receptionist informed me that Sheckles wanted me to just drop off my dog, who would then be caged, and in between appointments Sheckles planned to take care of his x-rays. I could return in a few hours to pick him up.There was just so much wrong with this whole arrangement- most of all, the fact that she saw me waiting to speak to her and couldn't be bothered to take a minute to meet with me.I am sincerely grateful for the assistance I received from Barbara, who arranged for a prescription to make my dogs last days on earth more comfortable.And I am profoundly disappointed in Dr. Sheckles. My family has used this vet and it's staff for over 10 years. We have brought in our three cats and now our dog. When our cat got into a neighborhood brawl,, we rushed to a closer vet who was more then willing to set up payment plans and left us feeling beat up like our cat, Beau but once we went to East Greenwich, told put some Neosporin and keep it clean..When it was time for our animals to transition, they treated us w empathy and honesty. Cannot say enough about this clinic. I have been taking my 14 year old golden retriever there since she was 8 weeks old. They have knowledgeable doctors and technicians who truly care. Just starting taking my aging dog Belle who has osteoarthritis for acupuncture with Deanna and I have found a nice improvement with her joint pain and stiffness. The best part about this clinic is that Belle truly enjoys all the attention and kindness shared by the entire staff everytime she has a visit. Nothing but good things to say about Greenwich valley vet! They treat all three of our dogs with nothing but compassionate care. Friendly, caring, always able to fit us in when something happens, and no unnecessary things ordered when we go in for sick visits. The vet techs are so nice here, they love my fur baby. They are nice to him and myself. They are quick with checking in, and the visits! They also have great affordable prices! I do wish that some of the other clients wouldn't be so rude though. They act very uncalled for when they see my dog because of his breed. They don't stop to ask if he is friendly, instead they act ignorant and scared and make comments infront of my face basically assuming he is vicious and will harm them or their animals which is NOT the case for ME AND MY DOG. so I really do wish that someone would tell them to stop acting so foolish!!!! Next time I won't be so nice about that kind of behavior. It's RUDE! Don't judge an animal by the breed!!! I will praise the vets for being welcoming to him and hugging and kissing him, because that's all he wants! So thank you to the vet staff and great service. I do recommend this place. This review has been a long time coming. I tried a few different vet clinics, including an upscale holistic one, but none made me trust them with my dear girl like Greenwich Valley, especially Dr. Nelson. The entire staff is caring and knowledgeable (in particular Barbara at the desk). But Dr. Nelson is beyond comparison as a vet but also as a friend to my dog. She displayed such skill and dexterity that I once asked her if she was an army medic. Her experience gives her wisdom. There was never a sense that we were overdoing anything or that I was being pressured into spending money on excessive treatments (in fact, my charges here were always more than reasonable). But above all, she had such compassion. I'm tearing up now, writing this, because I remember Dr. Nelson crying with me the last time I brought my girl in, which was just a few days before she passed. Afterwards, I got an extremely kind sympathy card in the mail. This clinic always went out of their way to help us. Thank you, everyone at Greenwich Valley. Read Less

I've been bringing my Dog to this veterinary clinic for a few years now. The facility is extremely clean at all times. The front desk staff is unmatched. They are knowledgeable, efficient, professional and really friendly. My calls are always answered promptly and there is minimal hold time. I've seen both the male and female vet. They are both very good vets, however, the female's bed side manner is better and I prefer to see her. They are not like other vets that constantly nickel and dime you and jump to recommend costly procedures. I've never had to wait to get in to see a vet and and I have never had to wait long upon arrival. Can't recommend this clinic enough. Read Less

I have a vet at another location. I will not name it, but I will offer one contrast that this place to my vet. A friend recommended this place to me. I decided to take a ride by to check it out. The first thing I noticed before I was even completely inside was the smell of poop and pee for lack of better words. This place is supposed to be an animal hospital. This odor was very unsettling to me. This is supposed to be a animal hospital more or less. I would expect not to smell any odors like this at a place like this. My vet is very clean and odor free, like an actual hospital.Despite this, my friend highly recommends the vets for their love of animals and their sincerity, one thing my vet seems to lack. As a volunteer for FRIENDS OF HOMELESS ANIMALS, it is difficult to find quality vet care at a price the donation based rescue could afford. WELLLLLL....Dr Nelson and staff were amazing with my senior foster, Dhaka! This poor blind and deaf dog had a mouth full of rotten teeth and stopped eating. My bulldogs love everyone at Greenwich Valley Veterinary. My bulldog Otis was a patient with them from 8 weeks old until his unfortunate demise at the age of 12. He was the love of our lives and was treated like a king there as well. We now have 2 Bulldog puppies. Brooklyn and Bronx. They are already regulars there and love everyone. There is a lot of room in the waiting areas to keep the more nervous dogs separate from the others to help avoid any conflicts. Everyone at the desk was very friendly and helpful. I've been to a number of vets in the last few months, all of them not knowing how to help my extremely sneezy and coughing cat. Many of them said that "This was just how he is" after I spent a ton of money, and sent me on my way. This was the first vet to have a plan, and a back up for if things didn't go right. He got my boy on a month of antibiotics, and now I haven't seen in sneeze or cough in 2 weeks! Very friendly and very accommodating. I would recommend. Read Less

I wish I could give Dr. Kim and the Greenwich Valley Veterinary Clinic more stars! After having some awful experiences with our former vet, I had to find a new one. Enter Dr. Kim. We walked in early on a Saturday morning and we were the only people there. We have two very excited dogs (new people? new smells? YAY!!!) and the staff was down at their level playing with them the second we walked in the door.When it was time to see Dr. Kim, the first couple of minutes were spent with her getting a tongue bath from the dogs. You can tell she loves animals and they love her. She explained everything she was doing and let us decide what vaccines we wanted to give the dogs. She gives options of vaccines based on the dog's lifestyles and does not judge if you pick some and not others. She does not believe in over-vaccinating, but wants to make sure your pets are healthy. Also, when we were all done and got our bill (after several shots and tests) it was very reasonable!Dr. Kim and her staff get 8 very enthusiastic paws up! Read Less
