My friend took a 13 week old puppy to them for the third round of booster shots. The puppy had a hair lip and the vet said there was something stuck in it. He had the vet tech hold the puppy while he tried to clean it out. The puppy began to struggle, they let the puppy rest for second then continued. The puppy this time peed and pooped on the table while struggling yet the vet continued until the puppy started vomited, stopped breathing and then died. They asked my in laws if they wanted the dog cremated, while they were still in shock. When I went to the office the next day to confront the vet he was cold and showed no remorse. When I told him I was reporting in him to the licensing board and an attorney, he then said he couldn't release the body of the dog until he took pictures. When asked why he didn't do that before freezing the dog, he stated well the dog was to be cremated but now with legal matters being taken he needs to take pictures. The vet through out the whole encounter was cold and showed no empathy. I told him that he should not be in practice if he doesn't understand animals. When asked why he did what he did, the vet could give no answers nor any apologies. The vet kept repeating that the puppy had a cleft palate. The puppy had no cleft palate, he had a hair lip which was not causing any issue other than cosmetic.

Both vets are caring and knowledgeable. They take their time with you and your fur baby.
Prices are less then the hospitals at Port Royal and surrounding areas which greatly helps.

Do not go here!! Service was horrible!! The lady at the front desk asked me “do you even have enough funds for your appointment” with an attitude. Like excuse me I did have enough funds. But how dare you ask me that as a customer.. I will never bring my dogs there again. On top of that when I spoke with the lady on the phone before going into the clinic the other lady gave me the wrong information and yet again with an attitude the lady at the front desk tells me “well you got your information wrong”!!!! Do not go here unless you want crappy service

Really liked this place. Reasonable prices, short wait time, friendly staff, and personable doctors.I only came for a yearly check up and shots for my dog, so that's all I have to go on, but there was no notable difference from my last vet I've been dealing with for years before I moved here. Also to note, they deworm dogs here as a routine, and it's only $7. Don't skip the vet, because you're embarrassed or hesitant about a big vet bill.

I took my two pups here after we moved here and they were friendly and caring. They answered any stupid question I had without the appearance of judgement. The cost was manageable and the meds I get for them aren't an arm and a leg.
The day one of my pups was tragically hit by a car and I needed his remains taken care of, I called them, after all other options were exhausted, to see if they handled such things. They were closed for training (still in the building) and open up for me to bring him in and even let me bring my other dog in with me so she understood him not being at home... They even sent a sweet card in condolences afterward.

I absolutely love both Dr. Smith's. They work with me every time I've have to take my sweet pups in. Dr. Smith (Senior) was so incredibly caring and compassionate as one of my sweet babies was nearing the end. He worked with me and changed the treatment plan to whatever worked best to make my Maxi as comfortable as possible. I'm a bit crazy when it comes to my pups but they are always kind about all my concerns. P.s., their pricing is really affordable. They may not carry all medications but they can provide an RX. I have discovered that other vets in this area will market some medications up to 60% higher than Publix Pharmacy. Outrageous!

They took me in for my cat acting super strange at 115 when they closed at 2 that day . Needless to say , that was super appreciative and calming to my nerves when I've never been to a vet for an actual sick pet . They took me in , cleaned up my cat from peeing in his carrier , asked what was wrong from beginning to up into vet room . After the exam , it was a small issue that could have gotten worse if left untreated . Treatment and visit and last minute walk in was 82 bucks !!!!! I give them 4 stars only because , although we all knew it was last minute , they didn't have to act all rushed and in a hurry to get me out after I had a few more questions . Overall , great experience , and I will definitely take my pets there again . DONT FORGET TO MAKE APPTS !

Absolutely the best, great care that is truly affordable. All animal lovers want to provide medical care for their pets but sometimes the cost makes that difficult. The Vets at Affordable Pet Care love animals, they are kind and caring, the cost of vaccines, treatment/ procedures is well below what you would pay elsewhere. They don't try to push care/ special food, unless your pet really needs it. A big thank you to Dr. Smith and staff for the care our kitties have been given!

Amazing! You can tell they really care about pets because they don't make it prohibitively expensive to get them the care they need. Well that and the just stellar skills. We've had our 2 dogs spayed at Affordable Pet Day Clinic and in both cases the surgery was perfect, with fast recovery and no complications. There isn't even a scar.
Last week we had our littlest dog spayed there and within just a couple of days she was back to her perky self with 0 signs of infection or pain. They also cleaned her teeth while she was under. Our vet vet in Savannah wanted $500 just for the teeth cleaning.
That said, make sure you plan ahead. There is a significant wait but it's well worth it.

I love this place, Dr.Smith is so nice he treats you like family. The staff is awesome and they are respectful of there prices. My 6 month old English Cocker Spaniel is going there to get spayed in March and I couldn't feel more comfortable with leaving her there to get spayed. The only thing I have to say that's bad is that there wait times are long I called last week and the earliest opening they have is in March, but I will wait all year to have her spayed by Dr.Smith.

I have used this location many times before when living on the area, I think Dr. Winters is great. But the reason for my low rating is the terrible and scary predicament that I was put in.
I called on a Monday to get an appointment for a health certificate that I would need for my flight on Sunday. I was scheduled for an appointment on Friday at 11. At 8:40am Friday, I received a voicemail canceling my appointment and that the very on during the weekends is not accredited to do health certificates.... I called back and of course there is nothing that can be done but was given phone numbers to other vets offices to try.
I called several locations, all but 2 could not see me in such short notice, one in Bluffton could for a huge price tag of $170!!! That's 3 times the price I was planning on paying. Finally found another location that would see us the same day for a much lower rate.
Please beware of visiting here if you have a short time frame because you could be put in a terrible predicament like I was.

I LOVE this vet. He is way cheaper than many of the vets in Beaufort. (Way better than the Animal Hospital of Beaufort.) I am retired military dependent and the base vet actually recommended this place. When our Mastiff died they were very compassionate and allowed us to stay with our dog as long as we wanted after she had passed. I can't say enough nice things about him. Before that, he did 3 surgeries on her and only charged us $150.00!! I hope someone reads this review before suffering the overcharged fees of the Animal Hospital of Beaufort.

Absolutely LOVE this vet, I wish I could take them with me when we move! We have been coming here since we moved here in 2011, and have gone through the transition of doctors from Dr. Winters, to the 2 Dr. Smith's. We loved Dr. Winters, but the new doctors at Affordable are great also. We have three cats and three large breed dogs who all love coming to the vet! Two of my cats get slightly anxious, but the staff here are excellent at handling them! My dogs absolutely love this place, and so do we! Their prices are very fair, and the staff seem to truly care about every pet that comes in. When I had my male Akita neutered a few months ago, the doctor explained every step of the procedure before taking my baby boy into the back, and made sure he answered all of my questions, and calmed all of my fears. The same was done for my female Akita almost three years ago, which had been my first experience with my own pet going under for surgery. If I could take this place with me to our new home, I definitely would, I will miss this place!

We took our 2 cats to Dr. Winters several times before we were supposed to ship out to japan. He was amazing! He doesn't believe in overcharging for services, and doesn't perform needless tests. We actually had a conversation about this one day, (he wasn't gloating - we had just given him a compliment =) ) and it showed how much he really cares about the animals he sees as well as their owners. He even bought a special microchip thing, since the one he had wasn't the right kind for entry into Japan. (We originally got our cats in Japan the first time around but going back *to* Japan was a different story regarding chip type according to the consulate.) There was no extra charge! We felt bad after all that when the orders changed, and hopefully he's able to use it on other animals from PI or the air station who are shipping overseas.So, now we're still in California, and 2 weeks ago we were charged $250 by a local, highly-recommended vet to lightly sedate our cat to see what was wrong with his ear since it was too swollen to see all the way into with a regular instrument. It was a blown eardrum. He flushed it with saline and gave us antibiotics. Now, today, our other cat received an x-ray and two blood tests to see why her belly is inflamed, and that's costing $344 for basic tests! If we have to put her down, it will be another $170 including cremation. I realize this is California and it costs $$ to breath in the air, but supposedly this guy here in San Mateo is the cheapest and best around. -_- It really makes me wish we were back in SC, not only because of the cost, but because Dr. Winters was so honest and up-front about everything. I always knew our cats were in good hands. Thank you for taking such great care of our cats while we were in Beaufort!!

I advise anyone to stay FAR away from this from affordable pet clinic. They charge me twice for an examination that I did not request (Over $ 80.00. Plus they refuse to send a prescription to a on-line pharmarical firm because they want to sell the med to you at a much higher price.

Both vets are caring and knowledgeable. They take their time with you and your fur baby.
Prices are less then the hospitals at Port Royal and surrounding areas which greatly helps.

Do not go here!! Service was horrible!! The lady at the front desk asked me “do you even have enough funds for your appointment” with an attitude. Like excuse me I did have enough funds. But how dare you ask me that as a customer.. I will never bring my dogs there again. On top of that when I spoke with the lady on the phone before going into the clinic the other lady gave me the wrong information and yet again with an attitude the lady at the front desk tells me “well you got your information wrong”!!!! Do not go here unless you want crappy service

Really liked this place. Reasonable prices, short wait time, friendly staff, and personable doctors.I only came for a yearly check up and shots for my dog, so that's all I have to go on, but there was no notable difference from my last vet I've been dealing with for years before I moved here. Also to note, they deworm dogs here as a routine, and it's only $7. Don't skip the vet, because you're embarrassed or hesitant about a big vet bill.

I took my two pups here after we moved here and they were friendly and caring. They answered any stupid question I had without the appearance of judgement. The cost was manageable and the meds I get for them aren't an arm and a leg.
The day one of my pups was tragically hit by a car and I needed his remains taken care of, I called them, after all other options were exhausted, to see if they handled such things. They were closed for training (still in the building) and open up for me to bring him in and even let me bring my other dog in with me so she understood him not being at home... They even sent a sweet card in condolences afterward.

I absolutely love both Dr. Smith's. They work with me every time I've have to take my sweet pups in. Dr. Smith (Senior) was so incredibly caring and compassionate as one of my sweet babies was nearing the end. He worked with me and changed the treatment plan to whatever worked best to make my Maxi as comfortable as possible. I'm a bit crazy when it comes to my pups but they are always kind about all my concerns. P.s., their pricing is really affordable. They may not carry all medications but they can provide an RX. I have discovered that other vets in this area will market some medications up to 60% higher than Publix Pharmacy. Outrageous!

They took me in for my cat acting super strange at 115 when they closed at 2 that day . Needless to say , that was super appreciative and calming to my nerves when I've never been to a vet for an actual sick pet . They took me in , cleaned up my cat from peeing in his carrier , asked what was wrong from beginning to up into vet room . After the exam , it was a small issue that could have gotten worse if left untreated . Treatment and visit and last minute walk in was 82 bucks !!!!! I give them 4 stars only because , although we all knew it was last minute , they didn't have to act all rushed and in a hurry to get me out after I had a few more questions . Overall , great experience , and I will definitely take my pets there again . DONT FORGET TO MAKE APPTS !

Absolutely the best, great care that is truly affordable. All animal lovers want to provide medical care for their pets but sometimes the cost makes that difficult. The Vets at Affordable Pet Care love animals, they are kind and caring, the cost of vaccines, treatment/ procedures is well below what you would pay elsewhere. They don't try to push care/ special food, unless your pet really needs it. A big thank you to Dr. Smith and staff for the care our kitties have been given!

I took my cat for a check up and to check for allergies. The staff is super friendly and you can't beat the price for shots!! His allergies were treated with drops and are now gone.

Amazing! You can tell they really care about pets because they don't make it prohibitively expensive to get them the care they need. Well that and the just stellar skills. We've had our 2 dogs spayed at Affordable Pet Day Clinic and in both cases the surgery was perfect, with fast recovery and no complications. There isn't even a scar.
Last week we had our littlest dog spayed there and within just a couple of days she was back to her perky self with 0 signs of infection or pain. They also cleaned her teeth while she was under. Our vet vet in Savannah wanted $500 just for the teeth cleaning.
That said, make sure you plan ahead. There is a significant wait but it's well worth it.

I love this place, Dr.Smith is so nice he treats you like family. The staff is awesome and they are respectful of there prices. My 6 month old English Cocker Spaniel is going there to get spayed in March and I couldn't feel more comfortable with leaving her there to get spayed. The only thing I have to say that's bad is that there wait times are long I called last week and the earliest opening they have is in March, but I will wait all year to have her spayed by Dr.Smith.

I have used this location many times before when living on the area, I think Dr. Winters is great. But the reason for my low rating is the terrible and scary predicament that I was put in.
I called on a Monday to get an appointment for a health certificate that I would need for my flight on Sunday. I was scheduled for an appointment on Friday at 11. At 8:40am Friday, I received a voicemail canceling my appointment and that the very on during the weekends is not accredited to do health certificates.... I called back and of course there is nothing that can be done but was given phone numbers to other vets offices to try.
I called several locations, all but 2 could not see me in such short notice, one in Bluffton could for a huge price tag of $170!!! That's 3 times the price I was planning on paying. Finally found another location that would see us the same day for a much lower rate.
Please beware of visiting here if you have a short time frame because you could be put in a terrible predicament like I was.

I am retired military dependent and the base vet actually recommended this place. When our Mastiff died they were very compassionate and allowed us to stay with our dog as long as we wanted after she had passed. I can't say enough nice things about him. Before that, he did 3 surgeries on her and only charged us $150.00!! I hope someone reads this review before suffering the overcharged fees of the Animal Hospital of Beaufort.

Absolutely LOVE this vet, I wish I could take them with me when we move! We have been coming here since we moved here in 2011, and have gone through the transition of doctors from Dr. Winters, to the 2 Dr. Smith's. We loved Dr. Winters, but the new doctors at Affordable are great also. We have three cats and three large breed dogs who all love coming to the vet! Two of my cats get slightly anxious, but the staff here are excellent at handling them! My dogs absolutely love this place, and so do we! Their prices are very fair, and the staff seem to truly care about every pet that comes in. When I had my male Akita neutered a few months ago, the doctor explained every step of the procedure before taking my baby boy into the back, and made sure he answered all of my questions, and calmed all of my fears. The same was done for my female Akita almost three years ago, which had been my first experience with my own pet going under for surgery. If I could take this place with me to our new home, I definitely would, I will miss this place!

We took our 2 cats to Dr. Winters several times before we were supposed to ship out to japan. He was amazing! He doesn't believe in overcharging for services, and doesn't perform needless tests. We actually had a conversation about this one day, (he wasn't gloating - we had just given him a compliment =) ) and it showed how much he really cares about the animals he sees as well as their owners. He even bought a special microchip thing, since the one he had wasn't the right kind for entry into Japan. (We originally got our cats in Japan the first time around but going back *to* Japan was a different story regarding chip type according to the consulate.) There was no extra charge! We felt bad after all that when the orders changed, and hopefully he's able to use it on other animals from PI or the air station who are shipping overseas.So, now we're still in California, and 2 weeks ago we were charged $250 by a local, highly-recommended vet to lightly sedate our cat to see what was wrong with his ear since it was too swollen to see all the way into with a regular instrument. It was a blown eardrum. He flushed it with saline and gave us antibiotics. Now, today, our other cat received an x-ray and two blood tests to see why her belly is inflamed, and that's costing $344 for basic tests! If we have to put her down, it will be another $170 including cremation. I realize this is California and it costs $$ to breath in the air, but supposedly this guy here in San Mateo is the cheapest and best around. -_- It really makes me wish we were back in SC, not only because of the cost, but because Dr. Winters was so honest and up-front about everything. I always knew our cats were in good hands. Thank you for taking such great care of our cats while we were in Beaufort!!
