Simply outstanding. My 8 month old pit bull mix was quite ill with what turned out to be a bacterial infection in his digestive tract. He was vomiting & couldn't even keep water down. Our local vet was no help (wouldn't even see us), so we drove the 45 minutes to Beaufort. Dr. Cifranick and his staff were thorough, caring & kind. Medication initially did not resolve the issue, and surgery was required. Dr Cifranick called me multiple times through the weekend, and was genuinely concerned for Bo's welfare. While the whole episode was not inexpensive, I thought the pricing was fair, and the service received was tremendous. We will certainly be using them as the vet in the future for all three of our dogs.

Dr Cifranick and his staff proved proved themselves very rude, incompetent. My wife left in tears after taking our Great Dane puppy, Larry in for a routine appointment. The Doctor told my wife (rudely and condescendingly) that our 3 month old 35 pound happy go lucky, outgoing, crazy puppy was underdeveloped, malnourished and not socialized. All of which are wrong. They told my wife "you can just leave the room because your dog isn't socialized and he'll do better with you away from him" like what? This puppy is beyond socialized and very well trained. The incompetent Doctor recommended getting our GREAT DANE PUPPY on puppy food... Now I am a former veterinary technician of 6 years and I have seen the results of that. I'd like my dog to not have hip dysplasia by age 3 and live past age 5. As for being underdeveloped? He is 3 months old and 35 pounds. PERFECTLY within the weight spectrum for a growing dane, actually a little on the higher end. Very sorry excuse for a Doctor of veterinary medicine...

As a new member to the Beaufort community, I was nervous taking my pup Obi to a new veterinarian. Obi is 2 years old and has only ever been seen by one other vet at our previous home. After much research I found Animal Medical Center West online and was pleased to see such great reviews. Making an appointment online was quite convenient and easy to do. My visit to the clinic was a great experience. The environment was tidy, the staff was friendly & Dr. Cifranick was wonderful. Doctor came into the room and sat on floor to interact with Obi, I've never seen this done before and it was such a sight to see! I'm so happy I found this place and will be a returning customer. Medical Center West has been wonderful in every way possible with our little River. We just came cross country and I have come to known in past times that it can be difficult to find a new vet whom you enjoy being around and feel comfortable leaving your pet with. The staff at Center West are so warm and welcoming. We had to recently have our puppies dewclaws removed from his back legs and it was a 10 day heal with the cone on, but they healed so well within 7 days that they were able to remove the stitches early and we have had no trouble since. I highly recommend Dr. Cifranick and his staff at Medical Center West!

I can truely say, that I have never been treated so good after making a mistake that could have cost me my dogs life. The entire staff was professional and caring . Dr Cifranick saw my girl (house cat, mixed breed) at 2000 at night and did EVERYTHING he could think of to help her after she started throwing up randomly. He didn't charge anything unreasonable and saw her for 2 follow ups to make sure we did her take home meds correctly and that she got better. He had a specialist consult on her X-rays to make sure everything was fine (no additional charge to me) and really made me feel better without knowing anything about us. We will definitely go back and there's no other vet or vet clinic for our little family!

He took his time and answered all of my questions very respectfully. Dr. Cifranick was able to give me several treatment options/recommendations and advice for raising a new puppy. My wife and I have two Golden Retrievers, and we --and they-- are absolutely delighted with the responsiveness, courtesy, and professionalism that has been received from Dr. Doug Cifranick and his wonderful staff.
Our experience has been such that there are no silly questions, no question is left unanswered, and each explanation is given in a patient, understandable, and medically comprehensive manner. All of this makes it clear that our dogs are at the right place and in the right hands.
If you have animals, this is the place to go!

Normally I take my animals to another vet, but he was out of town this weekend when our 16 year old Norweigan Elkhound had an apparent stroke. My regular vet mentioned that ya'll are now seeing emergencies over the weekend and recommended that we call. I left a message and got a very quick call back from Dr. Dohm (I hope I am spelling her name correctly!) who then met me at your office ASAP. Charlie indeed had either a massive stroke or perhaps cancer--either way, he was not going to recover. Dr. Dohm and Milani (again, I hope I spelled her name correctly) were *incredibly* compassionate, kind and patient with my mother and I as we made the decision to humanely euthanize our sweet boy. He passed in my arms, with no pain and no noise. The fact that he was seen so promptly, and with so much love means more to me than words can say. It was a dark and rainy night, and I really did not want to have to drive to Charleston or Savannah. Thank you for seeing us, for not letting Charlie suffer for a minute longer than he had to, and for making a very painful experience as compassionate, kind and warm as possible. Dr. Dohm and Milani are amazing and I would recommend them to anyone seeking veterinary care for their pets.

They squeezed me in as a same-day appointment when my cat was in pain and my regular vet couldn't get me in for days. I was impressed with Dr. Damm and how thorough and patient she was. The vet tech was friendly and the front office staff was too, especially with my son. They seem to really enjoy working there. I plan to make them my vet for both my cats permanently!

These amazing people not only saved my oldest pug's life when we first moved here, they continue to give us amazing service through their loving and caring attitudes. I would recommend them over and over with no regrets! 2018 Edit: It's taken me a while to write this. I recently lost my youngest pug to colon cancer. But, the entire staff at AMC could not have been more helpful, kind and loving in his last year of life. They always made sure to find time to squeeze us in during one of his emergency blow-outs and worked hard with us to find alternative treatment when his only option was a life-threatening surgery. Their love and kindness really helped me to make it through the whole process. As I said before, I would over and over recommend the AMC to anyone who wants the best for their fur baby!

Simply outstanding. My 8 month old pit bull mix was quite ill with what turned out to be a bacterial infection in his digestive tract. He was vomiting & couldn't even keep water down. Our local vet was no help (wouldn't even see us), so we drove the 45 minutes to Beaufort. Dr. Cifranick and his staff were thorough, caring & kind. Medication initially did not resolve the issue, and surgery was required. Dr Cifranick called me multiple times through the weekend, and was genuinely concerned for Bo's welfare. While the whole episode was not inexpensive, I thought the pricing was fair, and the service received was tremendous. We will certainly be using them as the vet in the future for all three of our dogs.

Dr Cifranick and his staff proved proved themselves very rude, incompetent. My wife left in tears after taking our Great Dane puppy, Larry in for a routine appointment. The Doctor told my wife (rudely and condescendingly) that our 3 month old 35 pound happy go lucky, outgoing, crazy puppy was underdeveloped, malnourished and not socialized. All of which are wrong. They told my wife "you can just leave the room because your dog isn't socialized and he'll do better with you away from him" like what? This puppy is beyond socialized and very well trained. The incompetent Doctor recommended getting our GREAT DANE PUPPY on puppy food... Now I am a former veterinary technician of 6 years and I have seen the results of that. I'd like my dog to not have hip dysplasia by age 3 and live past age 5. As for being underdeveloped? He is 3 months old and 35 pounds. PERFECTLY within the weight spectrum for a growing dane, actually a little on the higher end. Very sorry excuse for a Doctor of veterinary medicine...

As a new member to the Beaufort community, I was nervous taking my pup Obi to a new veterinarian. Obi is 2 years old and has only ever been seen by one other vet at our previous home. After much research I found Animal Medical Center West online and was pleased to see such great reviews. Making an appointment online was quite convenient and easy to do. My visit to the clinic was a great experience. The environment was tidy, the staff was friendly & Dr. Cifranick was wonderful. Doctor came into the room and sat on floor to interact with Obi, I've never seen this done before and it was such a sight to see! I'm so happy I found this place and will be a returning customer. Medical Center West has been wonderful in every way possible with our little River. We just came cross country and I have come to known in past times that it can be difficult to find a new vet whom you enjoy being around and feel comfortable leaving your pet with. The staff at Center West are so warm and welcoming. We had to recently have our puppies dewclaws removed from his back legs and it was a 10 day heal with the cone on, but they healed so well within 7 days that they were able to remove the stitches early and we have had no trouble since. I highly recommend Dr. Cifranick and his staff at Medical Center West!

I can truely say, that I have never been treated so good after making a mistake that could have cost me my dogs life. The entire staff was professional and caring . The way they handled my Ivy was like she was a piece of precious crystal . Even with my special circumstances , they took care of her needs. I give the whole staff five stars and 10 At-A-BOYZ! Dr Cifranick saw my girl (house cat, mixed breed) at 2000 at night and did EVERYTHING he could think of to help her after she started throwing up randomly. He didn't charge anything unreasonable and saw her for 2 follow ups to make sure we did her take home meds correctly and that she got better. He had a specialist consult on her X-rays to make sure everything was fine (no additional charge to me) and really made me feel better without knowing anything about us. We will definitely go back and there's no other vet or vet clinic for our little family!

My wife and I have two Golden Retrievers, and we --and they-- are absolutely delighted with the responsiveness, courtesy, and professionalism that has been received from Dr. Doug Cifranick and his wonderful staff.
Our experience has been such that there are no silly questions, no question is left unanswered, and each explanation is given in a patient, understandable, and medically comprehensive manner. All of this makes it clear that our dogs are at the right place and in the right hands.

Normally I take my animals to another vet, but he was out of town this weekend when our 16 year old Norweigan Elkhound had an apparent stroke. My regular vet mentioned that ya'll are now seeing emergencies over the weekend and recommended that we call. I left a message and got a very quick call back from Dr. Dohm (I hope I am spelling her name correctly!) who then met me at your office ASAP. Charlie indeed had either a massive stroke or perhaps cancer--either way, he was not going to recover. Dr. Dohm and Milani (again, I hope I spelled her name correctly) were *incredibly* compassionate, kind and patient with my mother and I as we made the decision to humanely euthanize our sweet boy. He passed in my arms, with no pain and no noise. The fact that he was seen so promptly, and with so much love means more to me than words can say. It was a dark and rainy night, and I really did not want to have to drive to Charleston or Savannah. Thank you for seeing us, for not letting Charlie suffer for a minute longer than he had to, and for making a very painful experience as compassionate, kind and warm as possible. Dr. Dohm and Milani are amazing and I would recommend them to anyone seeking veterinary care for their pets.

They squeezed me in as a same-day appointment when my cat was in pain and my regular vet couldn't get me in for days. I was impressed with Dr. Damm and how thorough and patient she was. The vet tech was friendly and the front office staff was too, especially with my son. They seem to really enjoy working there. I plan to make them my vet for both my cats permanently!

These amazing people not only saved my oldest pug's life when we first moved here, they continue to give us amazing service through their loving and caring attitudes. I would recommend them over and over with no regrets! 2018 Edit: It's taken me a while to write this. I recently lost my youngest pug to colon cancer. But, the entire staff at AMC could not have been more helpful, kind and loving in his last year of life. They always made sure to find time to squeeze us in during one of his emergency blow-outs and worked hard with us to find alternative treatment when his only option was a life-threatening surgery. Their love and kindness really helped me to make it through the whole process. As I said before, I would over and over recommend the AMC to anyone who wants the best for their fur baby!
