I can't say enough about Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic! Everyone is exceptionally warm, caring and courteous, from the doctors to everyone on the staff. Although I have only seen Dr. Bink and Dr. Dana a few times, I've seen Dr. Daniel Iyer many, many times. All three doctors are kind and loving with my two Scotties, but Dr. Iyer has been "our" vet for the past five years, and my "girls" and I think the world of him! He is a lovely man, very kind and gentle, who relates exceptionally well to both his patients and their owners. More importantly, he is a very thorough doctor who has helped me manage the health care of my dogs with competence and compassion. I've never, ever felt rushed when in his presence and he patiently listens to all my questions and answers them completely. He is sweet and gentle with my dogs and his concern over their care, and how they're faring after their visits, is manifested by his phone calls the next day to check on them. He also encourages me to phone him any time I need clarification about the girls’ treatment plans. When I do call the office with questions, or if I want to book a last minute appointment because of a new health concern, the office staff have always done their best to answer my questions or find me an appointment time promptly. If they don’t know the answer to my questions or I request to talk with Dr. Iyer, they pass along the message and I receive a phone call that day. I have never had anything but a positive experience with Dr. Daniel Iyer and have complete confidence in him. He is a gem! I called today because I had a life threatening emergency with my two year old French Bulldog. They are closest to our house. The receptionist was rude, flippant, and said that they did not see dogs who were not patients, emergency or not. Thank goodness Bluffton Veterinary Hospital actually cares, because they did care for my dog and saved her life. Shame on you Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic. Read Less

My German Shepherd was scheduled to be spayed on a Wednesday at 7:00AM. I arrived at 7:25AM to a dark office with all the doors locked. I tried to call to announce my tardiness and could not get anyone to answer phone. Someone finally came to my knocking at 7:35AM and was very short with me. While knocking and peering through a secondary window, I witnessed a dog being dragged across the floor by a leash in a not so accommodating manner which left a bad impression with me. I talked to Dr Bink afterwards and didn't trust his sincereness. I was late and I understand that, however I do believe it was for the best as I saw the true side of the practice. My wife previously handled the appointments so this was my first visit. The bottom line, whether I was late or not, is that I bet not one animal was completely prepped in the 25 minutes that I was late. I do not trust this practice with my animals and I am glad that it turned out the way it did. I am sure my pet feels the same way. Read Less

Like all pets that become part of the family, our little green cheek queen aka-Misty the t-Rex, was due her yearly checkup, wing and nail trim.Our appointment was on time, the examination room was clean and had no area where a small bird, or any animal for that matter could get hurt. You can tell a lot about the level of care based on how an examination room is kept.Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, including the front desk, nurses and of course Dr. Bink. The manner in which they handled Misty was caring and professional. Our appointment was not rushed, in fact Dr. Bink took the time to provide us a host of pointers on feeding, health and tips on best practices. You always can learn something new when you talk to someone who knows their stuff. We took our green winged macaw to DR. Bink Monday. I can not begin to say enough wonderful things. He was super caring for our feathered friend, listened to all of our concerns and addressed all of them. He even took the time to trim her nails. Today was my first experience with Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic and I could not be happier! Dr. Bink was so friendly and caring. He listened to all my concerns and thoroughly explained what he was doing and answered any questions. Being i have a bearded dragon not many vets around here see reptiles, I am so happy Dr. Bink does. He took great care of our Hercules. It’s definitely not all about the money there...he was so kind to discuss different options with me that i could afford...being a single mother right before Christmas that meant A LOT to me! I just moved in the area and had an appointment today with my cocker spaniel. I was 15 minutes late according to them because they had me scheduled for 1115 and I had 1130. They sent me a text that I could not even reschedule. I walked in at 11:30 and told them I was here for my appointment and one of the 3 girls said I sent you text and that I had missed my appointment. She said I'll ask the doctor what he wants to do. The doctor sent her back out to turn me away and said they could recommend other vets. I said you mean I can't reschedule. The three front girls were rude and snotty and said I'm sorry!  I'm 60 years old and I have never been treated this way. It was a mistake on my part but they had no professional right to act that way. Shame on this doctor for giving his front people the job of telling me to find another vet!  I also don't want a doctor this curt and rigid to take care of my precious dog.  My review is a zero! I had not used this clinic but a few times but only had positive and caring experiences. Dr Iyer was wonderful when I brought our beloved 9 yr old lab in for exam. She was experiences several problems and was diagnosed with kidney failure. It was a complete shock to us, but Dr Iyer broke the news and gave us options with great compassion and empathy. He loves his work and cares deeply for his fur patients and their owners. Thank you and your staff for your caring and compassionate care and support on the passing of our lovely girl. We miss her. I was recommended to this clinic by a friend of mine who has been bringing her pets here for years. She only will bring her fur babies here and I can see why! First off, I checked in at the front desk and was happily greeted by Liz who took copies of my baby's records and brought me into a room to meet with Dr. Iyer and his nurse. They both took the time to address all my problems and gave it to me straight, which I love. We had all of our vaccines updated and even got a nail trim! The staff were all wonderful and kind to me, I'm not sure what happened to those other people who left bad reviews, but it was a great day for me and Mimi! I can not say enough about the doctors and staff at Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic.  Unfortunately, I met them under the worst of circumstances after my greyhound had been attacked by a pit bull.  Though I had lived in the area for a while, I still regularly took him to his vet in Savannah.  Due to the severity of his injuries, I had to get him somewhere quickly and the Savannah office recommended Buckwalter...Dr. Resetarits actually worked for both offices and was already super familiar with Ringo. They saw us immediately, spent hours treating his injuries, and provided constant feedback on his progress.  He ended up passing two mornings later, and they allowed me time to sit with him and even sent me a card and flower arrangement afterwards.  Since then, I have taken in two smaller pooches and they both have only been to Buckwalter.  They had expanded the office since that first visit.  EVERYONE there has been exceptional.  The front desk can be busy, but I have never waited more than a few minutes and they are always super friendly.  The techs are amazing and are beyond caring and patient with both dogs...even my little, squirrelly maniac.  Drs. Iyer and Resetarits have been awesome.  Both always call a day or two after every appointment to check on them and/or provide test results, no matter how minor the reason for the visit.  Both have sat and taken enough time to fully explain things to me, though I know they have many patients waiting on them.  Anywhos...again, I am very appreciative of the levels of compassion and professionalism I have experienced with each visit and would recommend them without reservation. Completely unprofessional behavior on social media. I have never seen a business act in such an unprofessional manner on social media in quite awhile. The quality of staff is reflected by their condescending attitude. Please stay away and find a clinic that values their customers. UPDATE 06/30/2017: We were turned away today on our second visit due to the first review I posted two weeks ago. I was immediately turned away by Liz, the front end receptionist for "posting a nasty review" and "unless I deleted the review," the vet refused to see my 6 month old Golden Retriever. I told her I was extremely careful about not using "he/she" or naming any specific vet in the review and the first review was based around how I felt as a pet owner. Liz responded by saying "the vets look out for each other here at the practice." I was then also told to take my puppy elsewhere and that they would gladly print out his records so I could take him to see a different doctor for his follow-up shots. Dr Dana, the vet my puppy saw on the first visit, did not even acknowledge us when we walked into the clinic while she was in the lobby and instead went straight to the back. None of the vets came to address the issue or attempted to see if anything could be resolved. I did not receive a call ahead of time telling me that they were going to cancel my appointment unless I deleted the review. Buckwalter Vet has also hidden my review on their Facebook page and I do not understand how a clinic with such poor customer service exists.Original post: 06/09/2017:I was referred to Buckwalter Veterinary Clinic by some friends who could not stop talking about how great the vets here are. We went for our first visit today and after telling the vet the reason why we were behind on shots, the vet continued to belittle me and lecture me about the importance of regular visits. Not only did it make me feel like I wasn't being listened to, the vet seemed to only care about product-pushing, selling me items I didn't need or ask for. After the first lecture, the vet began telling me I needed to neuter my puppy even after I told them I am planning to in the future, just not until he was much older. Again, it felt like I wasn't being listened to and my main concern for the vet visit in the first place, which was to get my puppy's last round of shots, was completely ignored. Then, I was told my puppy was being taken out of the room for a stool sample but when he was returned to me a while later, I was told he was given his shots as well. Without watching and seeing my puppy receive the shots, I do not and can not feel confident that he was actually given shots. I was charged for items I didn't need and when I called back to discuss how I felt, the front desk told me extremely abruptly "once something leaves the building we can't take that back." I can't help but feel extremely disappointed and taken advantage of. Unfortunately I will have to follow-up with his last round of shots at the clinic but I did request to see a different vet. What an amazing group of people work at Buckwalter Veterinary clinic! It is so very clear that each person there truly cares about you and your pet. They are professional and personable. I have three rescue dogs that have had their fair share of problems. They have seem me through everything. I have so much confidence in Dr Dana Resetartis and the entire staff. I have no doubt or question in the competency and expertise of the Doctors here. However, I have a friend that works at the clinic. My dog had recently and quickly declined into acute renal failure and was most likely nearing death. That friend called to tell me one day that my family member had come in during their shift and was refused service [for a critical dog] because that member [of my family] asks too many questions. That family member trusted and even bragged about how great our Vet "was/is" as do many other clients, I'm sure. But, upon hearing that not only was that decision made and allowed, but that other members of the staff were aware and collaborated with such untrustworthy and wrongful acts, allows me to question the integrity and motivation of not only the clinic but all members involved in the practice. I trusted them too, and it saddens me to this day to know that this has happened. I hope that I am the only case, but ask yourself (many of you consider your pets your family), would you not ask questions if your family member was suddenly dying? For this reason, I have to assume that, while this may not be an everyday occurance, it must not be rare. It is a shame that Dr. Ayer is in a position to do this and that the staff perpetuates this behavior. I did not share the information with my family member, and I will not. We were busy losing a family member, as we later rushed our animal to a clinic in Savannah for seizure treatment and uethanasia that same night of the incident. For those of you that read this, I would have requested Dr. Bink had we further interactions at this clinic. I've heard nothing but great things of the Doctor, including great love and passion for the animals and their owners even behind closed doors. Read Less

Just started taking my three dogs to Buckwalter Vet. I have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Iyer and the entire staff. They have all been very kind and caring. I know we are in the best of care when they are at Buckwalter Vet. He has done surgery on both my dogs and they both have healed wonderfully. We are so thankful for him and the staff! Thank you! We're new to SC and just paid our first visit to Dr. Bink with our anxious pointer--and we all loved the experience! I'd heard Dr. Bink is a "dog whisperer," and it's true! we moved here from outside of Boston and had superb animal care there.. I had tried two other vets locally and while they were good, I wasn't thrilled and this time was looking for more of a homeopathic experience coupled with traditional medicine. Dr. Bink has been AMAZING. he is willing to explain to me the pros and cons of what I believe I want to do and starts with the least invasive treatment and then we rachet it up if we need to.. I feel I have found my Marcus Welby for my pets. we have been using them since spring of 2014 and have not been disappointed .. . ever... are they cheap? no but my animals are worth it and I had mis diagnosis elsewhere which ended up being more costly. I cannot thank Dr. Bink and his staff enough for their help today! My sweet boy got his ear ripped (his older sister is very cranky and very territorial) while we were heading home from vacation. The clinic was the closest one we could find and I couldn't be happier with our decision to go there. All the staff were very calming (very important to this hysterical furmama) and accommodating and Dr. Bink got Bear stitched up and taken care of in no time so we could get home. This clinic deserves more than 5 stars!!! I got my greyhound Lucy straight off the track last week! My neighbor referred me to see Dr. Iyer and going to Buckwalter Vet Clinic was the best decision of my life! The front staff and the technicians were so kind! In my many years of owning dogs, I have never met a vet quite like him! He was so knowledgeable and really cared about my dear Lucy! He even called me the next day to check up on her! Wow! Dr Iyer and Mary were incredible. We moved from Ohio a little over a month ago and never dreamed a venemous snake would bite our little 10 pound dog.. Thank god I called the SPCA when we arrived to get referrals in case of emergency never dreaming we would need it. We walked in and they took her and began immediate treatment. She was in for five days but six days later she is doing amazing. The entire staff are extremely accomodating. They kept us updated at least twice daily and did what they stated they would do. Dr Dana is hands down the most caring, compassionate and knowledgable veterinarian we've ever known. She and her staff went the extra mile to take care of our cat Dudley who was extremely sick and near deaths door last week. She and her staff stayed after hours and did what it took to diagnose and treat our sick little kitty. Thank you to Dr Bink and his team! My Uromastyx Lizard had bad infection in his tail and he had to have half of it amputated! (It wont grow back) That same day I took him in he said I'll take good care of him and fix him up! He's now home and doing very well. I feel so bad he only has half his tail now but it was for the best, if not it would've spread and he could've died...very friendly staff! Great experience! Read Less

Dr Iyer is by far the most compassionate veterinarian I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We are new puppy parents and brought our mini schnauzer, Bixby, to Dr Iyer based on rave reviews from neighbors. We are very impressed with the tender loving care Bixby received on both his visits. Was berated by a receptionist because I care enough about our pets to ask questions about their care. Charged large sums of money for a series of surgeries and office visits, then told, 'sorry. Can't fix it.' This is more like a boutique vet's office where you take your toy poodle to get vaccinations & nails trimmed. Avoid if you have a serious problem with your pet. Read Less

Dr Daniel Iyer is amazing!! We came in from Ohio on vacation chigger bites on our baby Bentley. Dr Daniel was wonderful he plopped down on the floor and held Bentley against his chest to examine him. Dr Dana is the best, you can tell she truly loves animals. After visits to three other clinics in the area she was recommended to me, l was told she has 'magic hands' and this was proved to be true. We were able to have almost another year with our sweet Katie. l have rarely met a veterinarian who so obviously has a great love of cats, she is gentle and compassionate. We made the mistake of thinking "conveniently located" was a factor in deciding which vet to use. Initially, things were okay (not great, just okay), but when we started having serious problems with one of our animals, and given the runaround, we began to realize this was not the vet office for us. Things you should know:This is a 8 - 6 office. No weekend (Saturday) hours. It's only convenient if you don't work weekdays, during the day.  The office is located in shopping center, in the middle of several other storefronts and has no designated parking. This is fine if you can pick up your animal and walk from the parking lot to the door. If you have a large dog, and it's July, and it's 100 degrees, you might not want to go here because you will have to walk your dog across hot pavement to get there.The waiting room is big enough to hold one Great Dane, and maybe 4 other "lap" animals. Put two medium size dogs in there that don't like each other and it gets interesting. *Edit: Waiting room size has been increased since I posted this, but still has parking / hot pavement issues.The reception staff seems like they don't want to be there. One of the female staff (Lynn or Liz - I can't remember her name) had an attitude every time we were in there. The young man working the desk made us stand and wait to check out one day while he scheduled a drug test (for himself) on the phone.The techs were AWESOME (the star in the rating is for them) they were caring, understanding, and gentle with our fur babies. They seemed genuinely affectionate to them all. They were the only reason we hung around for as long as we did.The final straw and why we left this office was after about a thousand dollars invested in care on one animal, we were told, by one of the doctors, "I can't help you." We were told we had to drive 4 hours get the problem fixed. If we had to go elsewhere to get the problem fixed why weren't we told that before we spent so much money on somebody attempting to fix it?Fortunately, a co-worker recommended another local vet who was able to resolve the problem within a week, in one visit, for half of what we spent at this place. We will NEVER go back to Buckwalter. Read Less

By far the worst customer service. I can't even imagine how they treat the pets if they can't even treat customers with respect. Very argumentative reception. They will verbally correct you and role there eyes at you. I guess it's also my fault for giving this business a second chance. This is my first time ever rating a business below five stars. I love this vets office! We have had nothing but super positive interactions and caring doctors for my two kitties. We started coming here when my cat had an emergency and we were new to the area. Even though we had never been in they stayed open late for us, started helping my cat right away, keeping him for the next three days for recovery. They let me come in and see him during those days, which I very much appreciated because my cats are like my kids and this was our first big medical issue. Everyone is always very knowledgable and they are happy to explain anything or answer any questions. We've since been back for normal vaccines and had equally positive experiences. Each time the vet is very happy and gentle toward my cats and seems to genuinely care about their well being. If you are looking for a friendly vet office with really knowledgeable staff members then this is your place!Read Less

We were new to the area and needed a vet. After much Internet research I chose Buckwalter Vet. Excellent decision! The facility was clean, the people were friendly and seemed genuinely interested in what was best for my furry friend. My cat is a hybrid and the Dr was familiar with the do's/don't of the breed plus I didn't have to take out a loan to pay the bill =) Read Less
