We switched to Air Harbor Veterinary Clinic because we were unimpressed by Dr. Patrick downtown. It was the best decision for our pup! We love Dr Southard jr. because he is so thorough and incredibly knowledgeable. He also explains everything in detail. He diagnosed an anatomical eye issue on our rescue dog that we were originally told was just allergies. I feel much more comfortable taking my dog here and always leave with my mind at ease. And to top it all off all of the staff there are incredibly friendly. Visit cost is always reasonable as well!

Thanks to Dr. Southard Jr for taking such good care of my boys Chappy and Doc. The ladies at the front are always sweet and take the time to answer all my questions. Having worked in the vet field myself for many years, it's nice to have an office that is passionate about the welfare of animals as well as upfront with pet owners. We also use them for occasional boarding, so it's a win win for us, thanks for all you do.

What a wonderful team of pet lovers and medical professionals! I brought my new 6 week old pup Charlie here to begin his vaccines and the girls in the office were sweet and caring towards Us both! When Dr. Southard, Sr. came in he was very descriptive with everything going on (little Charlie had worms at the time) and he offered advice for training, feeding, care and maintenance, etc. He loved on Charlie just as I would! Every time I go back the staff loves seeing Charlie and comments on how big he's getting! They always give me treats to take with us as well. When I brought Charlie for his second set of shots, I asked if I could bring my two year old dog as well for a vaccine she needed. They were pretty booked up, but didn't want me to have to come back so they made some room for my Shelby as well. Gina is great and the doctors clearly love dogs and want to make sure they and their owners are taken care of! Charlie is ready to be neutered in a few weeks and they asked if I wanted to set up his appointment but I told them I would be going to Charleston Animal Society because it's less expensive and they didn't scold me, they smiled and winked and I didn't feel pressured to go to them for it at all.Thank you Air Harbor!

The vets and staff at Air Harbor are truly one of a kind. The genuine care and professionalism they show us is outstanding. As the mother of a rescue dog who has many social issues, it was difficult to find a vet who would take the time to understand my dog and act in a way that made everything less traumatizing for her. Dr. Southard Jr. did that and so much more for my sweet pup. They are the perfect vet office for me and Daisy. With no reservations at all, I highly recommend them to anyone in the Charleston area looking for a veterinarian.

I've been taking my animals to Air Harbor practically my entire life! My parents always went there with my childhood pets, and now I continue the tradition. Who else would know you and your pets by name, whether you come in once a year or six times a year?! Which other vets would remember every detail about your sweet babies' health?! The personal relationship with Air Harbor vets and staff is immeasurable. The care received is invaluable. They treat you like you and your pets are their only, and most important clients, and that means a lot nowadays!

All of our dogs have been members of the Air Harbor family. We have depended on them for everything from puppy shots, annual visits, and illnesses to boarding. They excel at diagnosis and treatment of unusual conditions and the personal attention they offer every family. The entire staff makes sure you are comfortable with any treatments given as well as assuring you your pet will receive personal attention during their boarding stays. From the girls in the front office to the vet techs who handle your pet, you and your pet are welcomed with a smile and greeted by name. Our grand dawg is a beautiful Golden Doodle who we refer to as our special needs child. Drs Sr and Jr have continually updated his treatment for food allergies, staph infections causing itching and hot spots, and ear infections. Both he and our family appreciate having him symptom free. We recently had to put our second, elderly Shih Tzu to sleep. Both doctors worked with us to allow him a few more months of quality life with us and we appreciated every day. When the time came the entire staff comforted us from the time we walked in the door. We recommend them highly for the care of a new pet or the transfer from another vet's office. You can be confident that your pet will be well taken care of.

There are no words to described how well trained, educated and caring these people are. As a child my parents took our dogs to Dr. Jim Sr. & now I drive out of my way just to take my 2 Great Danes (Roxanne & Ace), Chiweenie (Penny) and now a very young Chihuahua (the later 2 being rescues as well as a couple of other rescues throughout the years). Matter of fact Dr Jim Sr. just helped me put down a 10 yr. Irish wolfhound that was a rescue with dignity (Roscoe) while I sat crying on the floor. Another time 1 of my Danes got into something she shouldn't have and we spent the night at the e-vet trying to get control of her heart rate. Dr. Jim called several time the next day to check on her and even spent over a half of day looking for a certain med. for her. Both Dr.'s Jim Sr & Jr. care for & see all of my dogs. And I wouldn't have it any other way. As a result of the expertise my daughter even takes her German Shepard to them. The whole staff (Gina, Cindy & girls) are just beautiful beings for what they do.

Found a dog and call this place like five minutes before they close trying to find out if the dog have a microchip, I was like 3 minutes away from this clinic and they just pretty much didn't care this is what they said: "we are about to close , you can bring him first thing tomorrow morning". I know they are not 24 hours, But something like this I don't think It should have being a problem, it doesn't take more than 10 minutes to check for a microchip.

I went here on the recommendation of a friend and I was pleased. Dr. Southard is extremely friendly and personable. He is very thorough and treated my dogs with affection. He discussed every little detail with me and I felt so good leaving the office. This was a breath of fresh air compared to Banfield, where I have always gone! One thing I would suggest is to order your flea-tick-heartworm prevention at an online retailer as it will be much cheaper, but that's probably the case for most vets.

Dr Southard, Sr is well known and loved by my whole family. In my dog Roxy's farewell, he went so much above and beyond for her and "her people" that I was left speechless. Overwhelmed by grief but gratitude. Roxy hated vets, but never him, she loved him. Dr Southard always ensured we never left with questions still unanswered, and he just had this way of making us feel like his favorites every visit (to all my family members & their furry babies), but his empathy and efforts and kind support were beyond 5-star care!! Plus he went above & beyond (& out of his way) to help allow us to give Roxy the best, most peaceful transition possible. I never would've expected such kindness as what he gave us for our final moments together, proving his continued passion and love of his job in caring for our pets. From her first year through her last, he was always the best doc in the world for my baby. Thank you, Dr Southard Sr! It's heartwarming to see your passion for keeping pets safe/comfortable still shines daily! We love you!

I grew up watching him on television working for the shelter and just wanted him to know that he made a major impact on a little girl many years ago and I appreciate all he did for my grandmother and I (Regina "Jimmie" Crouch). Terrible. Do not take your pet here. He will look at them and just guess what is wrong. Had to spend double money to take my dog somewhere else where they actually did tests and found out what was wrong. (And the medicine for his misdiagnosis was doing him damage. My poor baby.)My puppy also missed shots because no one told me he needed then. They acted like it was my fault that I didn't call and make an appointment. Sorry I don't know puppy vaccination schedules that is your job. There are plenty of vets in West Ashley. Chose a different one. Your pet deserves better.

Having worked in the vet field myself for many years, it's nice to have an office that is passionate about the welfare of animals as well as upfront with pet owners. We also use them for occasional boarding, so it's a win win for us, thanks for all you do.

What a wonderful team of pet lovers and medical professionals! I brought my new 6 week old pup Charlie here to begin his vaccines and the girls in the office were sweet and caring towards Us both! When Dr. Southard, Sr. came in he was very descriptive with everything going on (little Charlie had worms at the time) and he offered advice for training, feeding, care and maintenance, etc. He loved on Charlie just as I would! Every time I go back the staff loves seeing Charlie and comments on how big he's getting! They always give me treats to take with us as well. When I brought Charlie for his second set of shots, I asked if I could bring my two year old dog as well for a vaccine she needed. They were pretty booked up, but didn't want me to have to come back so they made some room for my Shelby as well. Gina is great and the doctors clearly love dogs and want to make sure they and their owners are taken care of! Charlie is ready to be neutered in a few weeks and they asked if I wanted to set up his appointment but I told them I would be going to Charleston Animal Society because it's less expensive and they didn't scold me, they smiled and winked and I didn't feel pressured to go to them for it at all.Thank you Air Harbor!

The vets and staff at Air Harbor are truly one of a kind. The genuine care and professionalism they show us is outstanding. As the mother of a rescue dog who has many social issues, it was difficult to find a vet who would take the time to understand my dog and act in a way that made everything less traumatizing for her. Dr. Southard Jr. did that and so much more for my sweet pup. They are the perfect vet office for me and Daisy. With no reservations at all, I highly recommend them to anyone in the Charleston area looking for a veterinarian.

I've been taking my animals to Air Harbor practically my entire life! My parents always went there with my childhood pets, and now I continue the tradition. Who else would know you and your pets by name, whether you come in once a year or six times a year?! Which other vets would remember every detail about your sweet babies' health?! The personal relationship with Air Harbor vets and staff is immeasurable. The care received is invaluable. They treat you like you and your pets are their only, and most important clients, and that means a lot nowadays!

All of our dogs have been members of the Air Harbor family. We have depended on them for everything from puppy shots, annual visits, and illnesses to boarding. They excel at diagnosis and treatment of unusual conditions and the personal attention they offer every family. The entire staff makes sure you are comfortable with any treatments given as well as assuring you your pet will receive personal attention during their boarding stays. From the girls in the front office to the vet techs who handle your pet, you and your pet are welcomed with a smile and greeted by name. Our grand dawg is a beautiful Golden Doodle who we refer to as our special needs child. Drs Sr and Jr have continually updated his treatment for food allergies, staph infections causing itching and hot spots, and ear infections. Both he and our family appreciate having him symptom free. We recently had to put our second, elderly Shih Tzu to sleep. Both doctors worked with us to allow him a few more months of quality life with us and we appreciated every day. When the time came the entire staff comforted us from the time we walked in the door. We recommend them highly for the care of a new pet or the transfer from another vet's office. You can be confident that your pet will be well taken care of.

There are no words to described how well trained, educated and caring these people are. As a child my parents took our dogs to Dr. Jim Sr. & now I drive out of my way just to take my 2 Great Danes (Roxanne & Ace), Chiweenie (Penny) and now a very young Chihuahua (the later 2 being rescues as well as a couple of other rescues throughout the years). Matter of fact Dr Jim Sr. just helped me put down a 10 yr. Irish wolfhound that was a rescue with dignity (Roscoe) while I sat crying on the floor. Another time 1 of my Danes got into something she shouldn't have and we spent the night at the e-vet trying to get control of her heart rate. Dr. Jim called several time the next day to check on her and even spent over a half of day looking for a certain med. for her. Both Dr.'s Jim Sr & Jr. care for & see all of my dogs. And I wouldn't have it any other way. As a result of the expertise my daughter even takes her German Shepard to them. The whole staff (Gina, Cindy & girls) are just beautiful beings for what they do.

Found a dog and call this place like five minutes before they close trying to find out if the dog have a microchip, I was like 3 minutes away from this clinic and they just pretty much didn't care this is what they said: "we are about to close , you can bring him first thing tomorrow morning". I know they are not 24 hours, But something like this I don't think It should have being a problem, it doesn't take more than 10 minutes to check for a microchip.

I went here on the recommendation of a friend and I was pleased. Dr. Southard is extremely friendly and personable. He is very thorough and treated my dogs with affection. He discussed every little detail with me and I felt so good leaving the office. This was a breath of fresh air compared to Banfield, where I have always gone! One thing I would suggest is to order your flea-tick-heartworm prevention at an online retailer as it will be much cheaper, but that's probably the case for most vets.

Dr Southard, Sr is well known and loved by my whole family. In my dog Roxy's farewell, he went so much above and beyond for her and "her people" that I was left speechless. Overwhelmed by grief but gratitude. Roxy hated vets, but never him, she loved him. Dr Southard always ensured we never left with questions still unanswered, and he just had this way of making us feel like his favorites every visit (to all my family members & their furry babies), but his empathy and efforts and kind support were beyond 5-star care!! Plus he went above & beyond (& out of his way) to help allow us to give Roxy the best, most peaceful transition possible. I never would've expected such kindness as what he gave us for our final moments together, proving his continued passion and love of his job in caring for our pets. From her first year through her last, he was always the best doc in the world for my baby. Thank you, Dr Southard Sr! It's heartwarming to see your passion for keeping pets safe/comfortable still shines daily! We love you!

He was always very kind to me when we lost two of our cats and explained things and just really made an impact on me that's carried through to today. I grew up watching him on television working for the shelter and just wanted him to know that he made a major impact on a little girl many years ago and I appreciate all he did for my grandmother and I (Regina "Jimmie" Crouch). Terrible. Do not take your pet here. He will look at them and just guess what is wrong. Had to spend double money to take my dog somewhere else where they actually did tests and found out what was wrong. (And the medicine for his misdiagnosis was doing him damage. My poor baby.)My puppy also missed shots because no one told me he needed then. They acted like it was my fault that I didn't call and make an appointment. Sorry I don't know puppy vaccination schedules that is your job. There are plenty of vets in West Ashley. Chose a different one. Your pet deserves better.
