Honestly such a waste of time and money going here for both grooming and the hospital. I've been here twice and both times the vets literally have no idea what they're talking about or they suggest to do 50 tests on your dog. I had two tests done on my dog because she was losing hair. They both came up negative and one of the tests took 3 weeks to get results. No one ever called me to tell me the results and I called twice and left messages and they never called me back. This place doesn't deserve even half of a star. My dog had been bit by another dog and I arrived with him 15 min before they closed and was refused help. Ive been a member of their plan for 7 years but 2 different doctors refused to take an extra 15 minutes out of their day to help my baby. Loving animals and wanting to help them is supposed to be your passion?? Ha!! Get a new job, you're heartless. I'll never go to this location again. Summerville at Bacons Bridge location said they would have seen me if I'd been able to get there by 5 but I wasn't able to because of the road conditions, which is why I rushed him to Rivers Ave but ended up wasting my time. We have been going to Banfield since our puppy was five weeks old.Everyone has been knowledgeable, friendly, and very kind. They always treat our baby with lots of love. So a hospital that's suppose to be all about animals, a staff who has gone to school for this very thing, they really don't care about your animal...very money hungry any time they can get more money from you they will. If your animal has had a procedure done months ago they will try to do it again, just to get extra money.... My dog has had a skin rash for about 6 months and every time I go in they just give me a different prescription and say it might work... I even told them about her having a diarrhea problem and because I was already coming out of pocket of over 200 dollars they didn't even suggest anything I could do at home for her...... Now let's talk about the staff, not only is the staff very rude and just completely nasty they come off very money hungry as well and even though my dog has been going here for months shots and everything up to date the receptionist came off as if I couldn't afford the treatments, telling me about the prices as if she knew I was going to decline the offer, they wanted me to spend 400 dollars on something that they say could or could not work and when I said I'm not paying for a treatment that they are not sure will work, she gives me a different price and comes off very sarcastic and ask me if that's better in price for me... NOT sympathetic at all, I'm very attach to my dog and I would do anything for her but sometimes you have to give and take and at that moment I didn't want to spend that amount of money for the same thing over and over again and not even given any hope that the treatment could work and not even offered an alternative treatment... The staff here is not very knowledgeable, in my experience. I brought my dog in because she had a very itchy coat for months, with scabs beginning to form. They charged me $250 in tests just to tell me that the problem was *likely* some sort of infection from a flea bite, but they couldn't tell me for sure. They also said that if I get flea prevention the problem will go away in a month. As I had noticed a flea or two lately, I got frontline, and the fleas disappeared. 6 weeks and 0 fleas later, I go in again because the problem has only gotten worse, and they are once again unable to tell me the problem. They charged me $300 for another set of tests, as well as a prescription medication they claimed would help. Another month later and no progress having been made, I decided to go with a small local vet. They charged me $90 for everything, including medication, and the itchy coat was cured within 3 weeks. This place will take as much money as they can convince you to fork over, and give you care of the poorest quality. HIGHLY unrecommended. Read Less

Just used the grooming salon for first time at this location. I loved it!!  We had Amanda and she was so patient with my fidgety puppy. I don't usually remember names of the groomers but this one I made a point to look. I think she will be our go-to from here on out. Friendly service. I peeked around the corner after an hour to see how my puppy was doing and caught Amanda sneaking her a puppy kiss on her nose! So sweet!  The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there was no sitting area to observe from behind the glass and I think prices are kind of steep. Extra for oatmeal bath and $40 groom for a 3 lb dog??  Good thing Gidget only needed a puppy trim for now since she was a little too squirmy for a full cut. Will never go back. My dog has an eye infection. It's been getting better.. Then this morning it was getting worse. I looked online and it said that this place was free if it was your first visit. And it was relatively close by. Website said it takes walk ins. Well I sat in traffic for so long that I miss the walk in cutoff by 10 minutes and was stonewalled. "You should have called"... "Come back tomorrow"..."sorry we have too many other sick dogs" I asked if there was something OTC I could use until then... And all I got were condescending responses and to come back tomorrow. Luckily a friend of mine offered to take my dog to a real vet office tomorrow while i have to work. Read Less

Usually I don't do reviews but I'm pretty upset at how this was handled. I went in 3 weeks ago exactly to get a few shots done for my dog along with an abscess that formed on her neck from her getting in a fight with my mother's dog. Got the necessary procedure done along with her shots and everything. My first complaint is the fact that they stabbed my dog in the neck a few times to see if there was fluids. It's apparent there were fluids and I get that they needed to pull some out. I'm not happy with the fact that they weren't gentle with her and at one point brought her into the back... which I'm sure as hell hoping they weren't hurting her because they weren't gentle in the least. Anyways, I was told to come back in 3 weeks exactly for a booster shot. I asked them if I could do it on one of those weekends and they told me no it would have to be done in 3 weeks exactly. I asked for their latest appointment because I work 45 minutes away (not another one closer btw) and I get off work at 6pm. They told me their latest appointment was 6:30. I said "Okay, but I won't be able to be here until 6:45" idk who I talked to but she said that was fine as long as I got here before 7pm. It is now 3 weeks later and a few days ago I got a call asking to move the time to 6:15. I told them no but they were firm on it so my fiance said yes but we still wouldn't be able to get there until 6:45pm. He then asked if we showed up that time if we would be purged from the system. They said no, as long as you're here before 7pm. Guess what happened? We showed up and they gave me an attitude telling me they stop taking appointments at 6:15. It was a simple booster shot, not a full check-up or a surgery. The worst part was the fact that the vet was standing right behind the receptionist not doing anything. Just keeping her mouth shut and literally not saying anything or doing anything. Within the time of me bitching to them about how they screwed up... the shot could of been done and over with. Unknowledgeable staff about simple rules they have along with giving me an attitude over THEIR mistakes. I wouldn't of been upset if we didn't ask them so many times about the times and if things would be okay, only to get told yes it's fine as long as you're here before 7pm. Never going back here again. West Ashley has a much better Banfield and I only went to this one because they had an appointment open to look at my dogs neck 3 weeks ago. I have been bringing my dogs here since they opened a year ago and have had no issues thus far.  The W. Ashley location is great,but too far for me.   My dogs were there for shots and one had dental cleaning recently and I let them cut his nails.  I have not had to bring a dog there with medical issues so cannot comment on medical treatment.  They do suggest the expensive routes to dog care as most vets I have visited do, but cost options are clearly communicated beforehand...and I've come to the conclusion that their wellness plans are probably a good thing to participate in as that $40 office visit per animal can add up.I don't use their flea /heartworm medications. .prefer to order online...am considering the 6 month shot option for the heartworm preventative.   Staff seems friendly enough.  Like all newer places, perhaps they have some growing pains as sometimes they were hard to reach on the phone and there were some scheduling kinks due to doctor shortage. The 7 day availability of hours until evening on weekday nights can't be beat for single working people like me...and pets can be dropped off in the am for some things. Read Less
