Feels like coming home...I walked into this lovely, warmly and beautifully decorated lobby in an old house, was greeted with a warm "Welcome" before I even closed the door and my very sick dog and I were put into an exam room without a minute of wait time.Even the exam rooms are decorated so that humans can feel like they are just hanging out in someone's house while having their pet checked out. Nice chairs, super clean, cute curtains and pictures and a big, pretty rug for my dog to lie down on.Now for the most important stuff: my 10 yr old greyhound was incredibly sick...stomach/bowel stuff, I'll spare you the details. She was extremely dehydrated, had lost nearly 5 pounds, not much interested in eating, and very lethargic. The vet tech came in (please forgive me, I don't remember everyone's names or who did what when)...any way, she came in and got down on the floor, (big dog, can't lift up to an exam table), with Maggie to greet and comfort her first thing. Then she entered all the information about what was happening with her and called in Doctor Blackwood, who was there in a minute or so.She too got down on the floor with Maggie and talked to her and petted her and said comforting things to her. They did the entire exam in the room, including a blood draw and administering fluids. Never before has a vet or vet tech done everything in the exam room so I could be with my dog while they poked and pricked and prodded. After 40+ years of taking my pets to the doc, I have finally found someone who realizes the need for me to stay with them while they're in this scary place.Long story short, we ended up in the hospital for a couple days because she needed IV fluids and meds overnight. She benefitted greatly from that. We did a follow up visit this week with Dr. Blackwood and Maggie is nearly her old dog self...whew!! Bottom line, great doctors and techs who treat your animal like he or she is your child and comfort you and the animal from the moment you enter the office. "Office" is a misnomer, care and comfort center would be more apt. Read Less
