We just arrived in North Charleston today and I just realized I left my dog Maxie Heartgard pills at home in Atlanta. She need her pill today, especially since we want be returning home until Thursday. So I googled the near by Vet, this place came up. Boy I'm glad they were open on President's day, they were nice, understanding, and accommodating. Anne (I think) called my doctor's office in Atlanta to make sure they could give my dog another brand because they didn't carry the one I needed. Dr. Katherine Benton is an excellent vet who is always smiling and helpful. She answers any and all questions to the satisfaction of her clients. She has been around animals all her life and is genuinely concerned about your pet's health and welfare. She has a very caring nature and always gives the best care and advice. I am SO thankful for Dr. Benton and her staff. My husband and I were in Charleston on vacation and we had brought 2 of our dogs with us. My pug starting coughing and feeling puny on our 2nd day and kept us up all night long with an awful hacking cough The next morning I called Charleston Heights Veterinary Clinic after a quick search on the Web and they were able to set me an appointment for not only that day, but within just an hour of me calling! The building is not fancy, but Dr. Benton is thorough and treated us as though we'd been clients for years. She immediately identified my pug's sickness as bronchitis and got him started on antibiotics, cough meds, and steroids. By the afternoon he was 10x better. She even gave me instructions for medicating my other dog in case she began to have the same symptoms as bronchitis is very contagious and insisted that we call immediately if our pug was not getting better or our other dog started getting sick as well. When we come back to Charleston and need a vet (hopefully not, but you never know), I will ABSOLUTELY come back to see Dr. Benton. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone looking for a great vet. Also, as a side note, her pricing is very reasonable and the office visit was about 1/2 of what our regular vet charges. (i.e. office visit was $48 + 3 medications = $78. The same treatment at my home vet would have easily been $150.) Read Less

OMG! I love, love, love Dr. Benton! The staff is awesome! Dr. Benton is the most honest Vet I've ever meet. Her prices are so reasonable. I'm so sick of Vets getting rich off of me and my 6 kids.
