Absolutely the best vet I have ever been to. They are kind, smart, companionate people. They have been our vet for seven years and I wouldn't take my dogs to anyone else. Their rates are reasonable and are always close or spot on when it comes to their estimates. My senior dogs test their skills and I've been super pleased every visit.

Our pets are our children, so we want to go to a veterinary hospital that is worthy of our "kids." We found that worthiness in James Island Veterinary Hospital. The doctors and staff are amazing, and they take such great care of our two cats and two dogs. Dr. McCullers has a compassionate soul, and always takes time to be thorough and answer all your questions and concerns. So does Dr. Chavis. We just love that she will get in the floor with our dogs to make them more comfortable. (We think she is a dog that has come back as a human. She is so in tune with all animals.) Shout out to Kayla who is like a cat whisperer. Our cats just loved her. No hissing this time because they were so comfortable with her. We truly put our trust in JIVH with the care of our "babies."

The staff of James Island Veterinary Hospital has been treating my pets for more than 30 years. I moved to Walterboro two years ago, and there are several vets here. However, I still take that hour long drive so that my kitty can be seen by Dr. McCullers. He and is staff are not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but they are warm and compassionate also. I can't say enough good things about them.

This morning we had to have our daughter's 15 year old doggie put down. Sandy and Wendy were both very helpful and then Mason carried buddy in on the gurney for us. Dr Evans came in and explained the process and answered questions. I could not have asked for nicer and more accommodating personnel. They were so understanding.
Dr McCullers has been "Christmas" doctor for 15 years and I have always trusted his good judgment and professionalism.
I would highly recommend this staff without any hesitation.

Dr. Chavis and her staff were the only people in town we found to take our concerns seriously and treat them as such. We have quite the itchy dog and as it turns out quite the allergic dog. Dr. Chavis was quick to diagnosis this however we had to proceed with standard protocol of what an allergic dog is. Sure enough it was environmental allergies after all, (not fleas like a vet down the road told us numerous times before and charged us hundreds of dollars for). If you want a caring Vet and also an extremely knowledgeable one I would recommend you see James Island Veterinary Hospital

Quick to recommend positive or less expensive treatment alternatives. Staff is helpful in applying for coupon rebates as well as point out certain stores that may even supply certain drugs for free. Do yourself a favor and give this office a visit with your fur baby. Ive not been disappointed.

After my last visit to this vet, in August, they called an ex, a violent criminal against whom i have a restraining order, to give test results, and also gave him personal information about me and my family. A simple removal of a number from records from over a year ago was not performed, and it is most troubling that it was blown off as an inconsequential error. The call, possibly, but giving personal information once they knew they called the wrong number is just not cool. They were made very aware of how necessary it was that he be removed from the records in 2015, and had assured me several times that the records were edited. I have only met the vet once in three years. My smaller dog is traumatized from her last visit, I have never seen a simple blood sample draw become a Benny Hill level event until then. I have yet to be mailed my money from a test that they could not perform, because there was not enough blood after the bungled blood draw. I should have gone elsewhere a year ago, and my own laziness has cost me.

My boxer Clemi was given up by her owner due to her age and Dr. Chavis took her in, treated her for some minor health issues going on, and found her a home! Lucky for us that home was ours!! Wish I lived closer because this would be the vet office I would trust my pets with!

I brought my kitty to James Island Veterinary Hospital as Hurricane Matthew was headed towards town. My regular vet was closed, and bad cat mommy that I am I had let his shots lapse and was desperate to update them before we evacuated so that I could board him when we got out of harm's way. They graciously fit me into the schedule before they closed early themselves for the storm. I was frazzled, and my cat was less than pleased to be there. They were great with both of us. I think we've found a new regular vet!

Really didnt overcharge for what was done and showed us how to give her cat a special medicine. Recommended a senior lab work, same kind I get! I guess when you get old you need some help! We have used this vet for 8 years and have been very happy with them! Their doctors are excellent, keep us informed and exercise extreme care for our animals. They have also performed 2 successful surgeries on both of our dogs to clear a blockage and remove a tumor. Their prices are very fair for the level of service they provide. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I just moved to SC last year and have been exploring the many veterinarians located in our community. I have a very allergic dog that requires ongoing medical attention. James Island Veterinarian Hospital has really helped us with stabilizing our pooch. Dr. Mitch has a kind and gracious bedside manner and takes time to explain and listen to concerns. The staff is professional and responsive. I also don't feel like their fees for office visits are excessive. We've been to three vets...we're sticking to James Island.

Mitch & the staff at JI Vet Hospital are all angels. My family has taken pets there for 30 years and my toy poodle was a patient of his for 17 years. He could NOT have taken better care of her or me! The staff put up with an over-protective mother many times and never made me feel like I was wasting their time!
I look forward to many more years with them as they take care of our new baby, Marcus.
Could not ask for a more patient and compassionate staff. Love them all!!

I would highly recommend this veterinary clinic. We are visiting and I brought my 11 year old springer spaniel. She has been been very painful in her legs and joints, but today she started limping and toe touching. I wasn't sure if I should call my vacation short, or try a vet in the area. I called and even though they were booked on this Saturday, the Dr. agreed to see us and we went right in. They were so nice and made us feel as if we were long time clients. Thank goodness it wasn't anything major. Dr. McCullers was very informative, and reassured me that if we changed our diet and add some supplements, and pain meds, he feels things will get better soon. I felt their prices were reasonable and in line with our vet at home. We would like to thank them for working us in and helping my stress level decrease. Unfortunately no chasing birds on the beach this weekend for my girl, but that's ok as long as she feels better soon. I would highly recommend this practice have as our own if we lived in the area. Thanks again Dr McCullers and staff!

Our pets are our children, so we want to go to a veterinary hospital that is worthy of our "kids." We found that worthiness in James Island Veterinary Hospital. The doctors and staff are amazing, and they take such great care of our two cats and two dogs. Dr. McCullers has a compassionate soul, and always takes time to be thorough and answer all your questions and concerns. So does Dr. Chavis. We just love that she will get in the floor with our dogs to make them more comfortable. (We think she is a dog that has come back as a human. She is so in tune with all animals.) Shout out to Kayla who is like a cat whisperer. Our cats just loved her. No hissing this time because they were so comfortable with her. We truly put our trust in JIVH with the care of our "babies."

The staff of James Island Veterinary Hospital has been treating my pets for more than 30 years. I moved to Walterboro two years ago, and there are several vets here. However, I still take that hour long drive so that my kitty can be seen by Dr. McCullers. He and is staff are not only highly skilled and knowledgeable, but they are warm and compassionate also. I can't say enough good things about them.

This morning we had to have our daughter's 15 year old doggie put down. Sandy and Wendy were both very helpful and then Mason carried buddy in on the gurney for us. Dr Evans came in and explained the process and answered questions. I could not have asked for nicer and more accommodating personnel. They were so understanding.
Dr McCullers has been "Christmas" doctor for 15 years and I have always trusted his good judgment and professionalism.
I would highly recommend this staff without any hesitation.

Dr. Chavis and her staff were the only people in town we found to take our concerns seriously and treat them as such. We have quite the itchy dog and as it turns out quite the allergic dog. Dr. Chavis was quick to diagnosis this however we had to proceed with standard protocol of what an allergic dog is. Sure enough it was environmental allergies after all, (not fleas like a vet down the road told us numerous times before and charged us hundreds of dollars for). If you want a caring Vet and also an extremely knowledgeable one I would recommend you see James Island Veterinary Hospital

After my last visit to this vet, in August, they called an ex, a violent criminal against whom i have a restraining order, to give test results, and also gave him personal information about me and my family. A simple removal of a number from records from over a year ago was not performed, and it is most troubling that it was blown off as an inconsequential error. The call, possibly, but giving personal information once they knew they called the wrong number is just not cool. They were made very aware of how necessary it was that he be removed from the records in 2015, and had assured me several times that the records were edited. I have only met the vet once in three years. My smaller dog is traumatized from her last visit, I have never seen a simple blood sample draw become a Benny Hill level event until then. I have yet to be mailed my money from a test that they could not perform, because there was not enough blood after the bungled blood draw. I should have gone elsewhere a year ago, and my own laziness has cost me.

I brought my kitty to James Island Veterinary Hospital as Hurricane Matthew was headed towards town. My regular vet was closed, and bad cat mommy that I am I had let his shots lapse and was desperate to update them before we evacuated so that I could board him when we got out of harm's way. They graciously fit me into the schedule before they closed early themselves for the storm. I was frazzled, and my cat was less than pleased to be there. They were great with both of us. I think we've found a new regular vet!

Really didnt overcharge for what was done and showed us how to give her cat a special medicine. Recommended a senior lab work, same kind I get! I guess when you get old you need some help! We have used this vet for 8 years and have been very happy with them! Their doctors are excellent, keep us informed and exercise extreme care for our animals. They have also performed 2 successful surgeries on both of our dogs to clear a blockage and remove a tumor. Their prices are very fair for the level of service they provide. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I just moved to SC last year and have been exploring the many veterinarians located in our community. I have a very allergic dog that requires ongoing medical attention. James Island Veterinarian Hospital has really helped us with stabilizing our pooch. Dr. Mitch has a kind and gracious bedside manner and takes time to explain and listen to concerns. The staff is professional and responsive. I also don't feel like their fees for office visits are excessive. We've been to three vets...we're sticking to James Island.

Mitch & the staff at JI Vet Hospital are all angels. My family has taken pets there for 30 years and my toy poodle was a patient of his for 17 years. He could NOT have taken better care of her or me! The staff put up with an over-protective mother many times and never made me feel like I was wasting their time!
I look forward to many more years with them as they take care of our new baby, Marcus.
Could not ask for a more patient and compassionate staff. Love them all!!

I would highly recommend this veterinary clinic. We are visiting and I brought my 11 year old springer spaniel. She has been been very painful in her legs and joints, but today she started limping and toe touching. I wasn't sure if I should call my vacation short, or try a vet in the area. I called and even though they were booked on this Saturday, the Dr. agreed to see us and we went right in. They were so nice and made us feel as if we were long time clients. Thank goodness it wasn't anything major. Dr. McCullers was very informative, and reassured me that if we changed our diet and add some supplements, and pain meds, he feels things will get better soon. I felt their prices were reasonable and in line with our vet at home. We would like to thank them for working us in and helping my stress level decrease. Unfortunately no chasing birds on the beach this weekend for my girl, but that's ok as long as she feels better soon. I would highly recommend this practice have as our own if we lived in the area. Thanks again Dr McCullers and staff!
