This vet may care about your animals but treats human beings terribly. An incident happened recently while visiting Charleston, SC, when my husband & I, who are retirees, returned from a horse carriage ride to a big white parking ticket pasted on the drivers side window and a boot on our tire so we couldn’t leave until the city’s parking rangers came about 45 mins later to release us and pay $50 fine. Thing is, we paid the carriage ride people to park in this lot, but it was apparently shared with ‘OLDE TOWN VET’ (right next to the horse barns) and they are the ones who called on us. The vet (not a nice person) also came out & she confronted me on the street saying, “Oh, your the ones who have blocked my entrance for the last hour!” I said “sorry, but there isn’t an entrance sign, we paid for the parking space and there are 3 more entrances/driveways to get into the parking lot.” The carriage ride people ended up paying for half the $50 ticket, which we appreciated, but we have a very bad taste in our mouth for this vet and Charleston hospitality. It certainly doesn’t help tourism and I was so offended that I doubt we will visit the town ever again! 😡 Read Less

This is a review from a tourist about an incident she had in the public parking lot with a person who is NOT the owner, DVM, or even an employee of OTVC. This tourist blocked the entrance to the lot for all patrons of surrounding businesses. She does not live here or has never visited this practice. She obviously didn't ask the name of the person she was arguing with because it was not Dr. Klein, or any staff member. Appears that maybe this review should be of the carriage company who told you that you could block the entrance, which is NOT EVEN A PARKING SPOT. OTVC has 5 spots and needs those for pet owners and thank to your blocking the entrance they could not get in for the hours you were gone.

We love Olde Towne Vet Clinic and think Dr. Klein and the staff are wonderful!  As a foster home for many of our community's stray, young, old, sick felines who find themselves in our shelters or whether I have a cat shipped to me from half way around the world, I trust Dr. Klein to help me navigate the most intensive cases.  She has helped me with a non-mobile CH kitten (who learned to walk with the aid of exercises guided by Dr. Klein), URI cats, cats with eye issues, high blood pressure, and my beloved FIV+ Japanese cats.  The cats never seem fearful in her care and I believe this is because of her ability to understand them and their body language, and she doesn't force them into going to the "crazy point".  She is thorough and communicates with the pet parents well to help us understand all we can do to care for our 4-legged friends.  She's not quick to want to test, test, test for money, money, money - something anyone can appreciate.  She keeps the patient and the human in mind always.   It's a bonus that they provide free parking across the street from the office for their pet parents. Best vet in my book! Read Less

Hello Dr. Kline. I received your registered letter today firing Lil Bit as a patient. Yes, I am "still concerned" that my dog cannot walk after a routine anal gland cleaning at your office. It's been eight days. But don't worry - I had no intention whatsoever of darkening your door again. I warned you months ago when Missy turned catatonic for weeks following a visit to your office.that you had a problem in your back office. You did not rectify the situation. You have now reminded me ( for the third time and in writing) that you did this procedure yourself. I understand that the staff "only has good intentions and would never cause harm to a patient. I don't know what happened to my dog but this catatonic lump on my floor is not the dog that bounced into you office a week ago. He can't even walk. Olde Towne have been nothing but great since we became clients earlier this year. My dog was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, and Dr. Klein has gone out of her way to seek information and ensure his health regarding this rare but serious illness. They're always very friendly and professional, and the CofC student discount helps make his treatment attainable. They're not open on weekends, but fortunately the doctor works at the Emergency Vet in Mt. Pleasant, so we've visited there and have been able to still see our same vet. Highly recommend.Read Less

It first started with my dog being returned to me after being given fluids, she was sick. She whimpered, when asked why we were told, "Oh, she's just happy to see you!" The correct answer would've been, (that we got later after we alarmingly realized something was wrong) "We put the fluids in the back and she's going to be really sore for a while." She was so sore that we couldn't even pet her or pick her up without her screaming and yelping. She was at the point that she'd rather pee on herself in her bed than to move. But she did get better a few days later. Yesterday, at 5:30 she was hit by a white truck twice in front of our house; and her little sister possibly too. We called Olde Towne, they were a logical choice because they were right down the street. My dogs are little, time is of the essence. We were turned away, told to go to Mt. Pleasant Emergency. Luckily, another vet near us took in our dogs, even calling their vet back to work, for dogs that weren't even his patients, and he stayed the night to monitor both of them. My dogs could've been DYING. It turns out one of them has a shattered pelvis while the other one was luckily just in shock. Find the a vet that is willing to go that extra mile. I didn't find it here. Read Less

Dr. Klein and her staff are AMAZING! We have seen numerous vets over the years, and Dr. Klein is hands down the BEST! She is knowledgable, approachable and genuinely cares about our 3 pups! One of our dogs has a unique medical condition that requires blood work every 2-3 weeks. We drive a half hour, despite other vets being closer, because of her medical approach and compassion! The best testimonial I can give is that ALL 3 of my dogs wag their tails and greet Dr. Klein with a kiss, which she warmly welcomes, before she examines them!!!! Read Less

These guys are great. My fiancé and I got two kittens and we have been taking them here for their initial shots and exams, and they are wonderful. We never have to wait, the vet is super clear about explaining everything she's doing and thorough about checking for potential infections and parasites and all that. We're very happy with them! Read Less
