This place used to give such quality care when Dr Chappel was there, it's really gone downhill since he left. The past few visits we've been seen by Dr Stewart and we're really uncomfortable with the quality of care. Dr Stewart seems to lack empathy and he's got very peculiar bedside manner. Each visit left us feeling that he was more interested in adding charges to our bill, and barely interested in the well being of our pet. His exams may as well be handling a piece of meat at the grocery store, there's no indication that he's interacting with a live animal. He doesn't really seem any more comfortable with us either, both of us have noticed his brusque and almost disconnected attitude. Dr Chappel took the time to explain the problem and genuinely cared about our pets. Dr Stewart is the exact opposite, we both wonder why he chose being a vet as a career path. Truthfully, the bedside manner is secondary, Dr Stewart's quality of care is lacking as well. He seems more interested in selling services than curing our pet's problems, he's just overall not a skilled vet. We're sad to leave, but visits are pretty expensive and we're just not comfortable with the new staff. We hate to say it, but avoid this clinic, pick another vet. Read Less

Really like this veterinary site. The staff is friendly and appear to care about their pet clientele. Appointments are easy to get and there aren't long waits upon arrival. Very clean and well organized. For vaccines they are only a couple dollars more than Humane Society in Charlotte. For the convenience it's worth it to come here. Informative in pet care and my puppy EzaBella isn't fearful coming here. In a rather short period of time we're heading home again. Very thorough first puppy visit too. No complaints about the vet services here. Read Less

A friend of ours introduced us to Carolina Place Animal Hospital. She has taken her cats here for years and swears by Dr. Chappell. We had our dogs treated here as well. Both the techs and the doctors treated both boys as if they were part of their own families, something we appreciated greatly. The dogs got their shots here & were treated for ear infections with topical medications and pills. The doctors have always been very upfront when discussing treatments and different avenues for care.Around the end of October 2017 my miniature poodle Sassi was having trouble with his bowels. He couldn't poop. We took him to see Dr. Stewart. Dr. Stewart asked if he could do an x-ray & I gave my consent to go forward. As it turned out Sassi not only had another ear infection but he also had a tumor crushing his lower intestine. He could eat but not poop. My wife and I discussed the options, there was really only one, Sassi needed to have surgery to remove the tumor.Dr. Chappell performed the surgery & we were on pins and needles as to the outcome. I saw Sassi right after the surgery. He was in recovery coming out of anesthesia wearing the cone of shame. Dr. Chappell took time to tell me that the surgery was complicated because there wasn't just one but two tumors. He managed to get them both out even though the second tumor was between the aorta and the spine. My wife and I visited with Sassi post recovery and we were looking forward to having him home with us. Dr. Chappell told us that Sassi would be watched 24/7 by a tech. Somewhere in the night he suffered from a post op blood clot and passed away. My wife was with him shortly after he died. His death wasn't felt by just the two of us. I think everyone in the office was crying at some point. When a biopsy was performed on him it was discovered that he had a malignant cancer throughout his body. We never knew it & he never complained. He was always happy & loving. Even now almost a month later I still cry when I think about him.Henry just got his shots and was less than happy having his ears looked at but Dr. Stewart gave us a variety of pills to clear up the infection. Dr. Stewart has never been anything but professional to myself and my wife. We're older adults and he's a young man but he's educated as a vet & has experience to back up his formal education. I think that he tries as hard as he can to help every animal that comes in looking for aid. The techs are some of the strongest, most courageous ladies I have ever met. They see animals and humans suffering every day & they still come in to ease their suffering. I've been to a couple different vets and I like this combination of folks. Everyone tries their best, that's really all we can do. Read Less

We switched from Baxter Vet. clinic to Carolina Place Animal Hospital after we received Extremely poor service (they would not return a initial diagnose that was promised the same day, they would not return phone calls for three days, and they wanted to do unnecessary testing on our dying dog).  Dr. Adams was kind and matter of fact regarding the treatment of our beloved dog.  She has terminal cancer, end of story.  Dr. Adams has provided us with basic treatment to keep our baby comfortable and going as long as possible without trying to sell us in unnecessary treatments or give us false hope.  Dr. Adams sat on the floor with our dog and treated her with kindness and dignity.  We have moved our two new puppies to Dr. Adams and have been pleased with their care as well.Dr. Adams recommended removing our cat off of $50 cat food and going to less expensive and more effective medicine.  We truly feel that she is looking out for the the care of our pets along with our wallets.  Thank you Dr. Adams!
