Great first experience taking my dog, Delilah, to this vet clinic! Each nurse was very helpful and gave my dog lots of positive energy and cookies! Delilah had a deep gash on the pads of her toes. The doctor was very professional and gave me lots of options on what they would be able to do (hard to treat that specific area). Ultimately they put four staples in and wrapped up her foot. The wrap didn’t last very long (didn’t expect it to), but the staples have stayed firm and her cut looks a lot better than it did. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone and I plan on taking her back for any future shots! Read Less

Absolutely the best. I first went here when my dog was in distress and she was treated as though she was a regular there. Have sense returned and they are always wonderful. They accept how we want to take care of the dog with natural treatments. And even though we don't visit often they make you feel very welcome. Curtsinger (Companion) Animal Hospital is absolutely the best! The Doctors and staff are amazing. We have a dog that has some fear aggression and is not a fan of the vet at all but everyone at Curtsinger was extremely patient and caring. Dr. Duncan and Jessica were outstanding when our little guy had surgery. He definitely challenged them, especially when it came time to remove his sutures, but they were so understanding and did an amazing job keeping him calm while giving him the best care. They are always very upfront with costs and don't pressure you into making decisions that you aren't comfortable with. You really can't ask for a better vet! Read Less

6/15/2018 - I finally had enough with the poor customer service by the front desk lady -switched to Petsmart today. She either owns the place or doesn't care/understand customer service. Over my 66 years, I have owned and trained dogs in several states, and this is by far the best veterinary practice I have ever encountered. I also do dog rescue for a national breed group, and when we encounter a difficult to diagnose dog in this region, we bring it to Dr. Curtsinger. He is a gifted diagnostician who combines good instincts with superb training to find reasons and treatments when others cannot. I have never raved about an appointment at the vet but this was an exception. From the moment we walked in, the staff make us feel comfortable and welcomed. Dr. Curtsinger, Brianna and Laurie (I hope I have the correct names) were so personable and took their time to answer any questions that I had. Not to mention, they were sooo good with my dog.Dr. Curtsinger was very conscious about my budget and did not try to push unnecessary tests or treatments (which I have experienced at other offices) while still doing what was best for my dog. Dr. Curtsinger has been our Vet for 12 years and I am always satisfied. He explains everything in layman terms. He answers as many questions as I ask. My animals; one dog, and six cats are well cared for by his staff. The staff is friendly, knowledgable, professional and caring. The facility is spotless and welcoming. I read several negative comments on this site and ponder if they actually were talking about Dr. Curtsinger. In twelve years I have never had a negative experience. The staff will always print out a complete estimate of cost associated with treatments sought, if requested. Dr. Curtsinger has all the necessary technology to properly diagnose any animal issue. I expect to pay for these services just like I do if I seek medical care for myself. Our dog needed specialized surgery and Curtsinger referred us to Carolina Vet. Speciality Hospital. He knows his medical limits, and will not waste my time or money trying to perform medical care out of his range. I sincerely recommend Curtsinger Animal Hospital for pet care. Read Less

We have been very happy with this vet. They recently diagnosed our dog with diabetes and have been really helpful with the process. They seem to genuinely care about our dog. Prices aren't cheap, but seem reasonable and they seem to be aware of the costs and try not to have to do things that aren't completely necessary. Read Less

My cat recently had surgery and an overnight stay. He is doing amazing and I know that is in part due to the great care he received. In fact, they even welcomed me to drop by after surgery and visit him - unannounced! They brought me to the back where he was being kept and then let me take him to a room to visit as long as I wanted. It is hard finding a vet practice that you can completely place your trust in. I take my allergy-ridden bulldog to Dr. Parlier.  With his allergies sometimes we can't wait a week or more for an appointment and they always have room to squeeze us in.  He gets so excited every time he goes.  The staff is so friendly!  He had a minor procedure recently and of course I'm unnecessarily freaked out.  They took great care of my goofy dog and made me feel at ease too.  She takes into consideration the cost of procedures, medicine, etc so I'm not throwing money away.  Having a bull can get expensive! Dr Parlier is very knowledgeable on allergies and ways to alleviate his symptoms.  She walks me through very step of what are triggers, ways to treat and short and long term plan to keep him happy and healthy.  I can't say enough good things about this place and Dr Parlier! She always calls me personally to review his test results and spends the time necessary to answer all my questions. Dr. Curtsinger is a wonderful vet. He helped provide our older dog with best quality of life. The first time we visited he only had to examine her briefly to determine her condition, something multiple previous vets were unable to for several years. Within a short period of time she had more energy and was able to walk better than she had in years. She lost weight that other vets had prescribed various crazy diets for. It turned out her "weight gain" was the result of severe arthritis in her back legs. She was shifting her weight to the front legs which caused more "weight" around her chest. This all changed after Dr. Curtsinger got her on medication for the arthritis. I highly recommend him for all your pet care needs. Read Less

One of the weirdest and worst experiences I have had at a veterinary clinic. I found the vet to be uninterested in my animal and felt like he was talking down to me. Everyone we have encountered has been very helpful and professional. We brought our dog to Dr Miller and she was very thorough in getting the correct diagnosis for Annie. At the same time ,she was sensitive to the cost is of the tests and medications. We recently adopted another puppy and Dr. Parlier was equally good. I have known Dr. Curtsinger since 1988 when we first relocated to the Charlotte area from out of state. He was working with another Veterinarian in Southeast Charlotte. We moved here with a special needs cat. He worked with us to help provide the best care for her and went way above his call of duty helping us secure items so I could care for Taffy at home instead of her having to stay in the Hospital. At the end in 1995, he provided support so that I could have her home with me when she crossed the rainbow bridge. He again was there in 1996 when I brought 2 three week old kittens home. He also was there when we rescued their biological mother from sure death several months later. Of those 4 cats, we still have one. Tinker is 19, and he has been there for us providing her with supportive care. She has some health problems that cannot be cured, but she still maintains a good quality of life. I know he will be there for me if she gets near the end and shows pain. I have every intention of keeping her home and letting her cross the rainbow bridge in my arms. He is also there for my other 4 girls (1 almost 7 yo, and 3 almost 6 yo). I appreciate him and his staff for the wonderful care they provide, and for supporting my No Heroic option of care. I can't say that this is my favorite vet. I think they over charge for a lot of their services (although their website looks reasonable as far as charges go). I called to follow-up after an appointment and never received a call back. I will not be going back and suggest that if you do have to have ANY services done in the back by the techs that you ask how much they are going to cost before hand so you aren't shocked at the price at the end of the visit. Very disappointing experience at Curtsinger Animal Hospital. The assistant named Jennifer gave my dog a shot I never said I wanted, after I specifically told her exactly what I did want for my pup. She then proceeded to argue with me about our conversation, lying about what I said. I should not take my pup to the vet and get treated this way. Very sad. I have only good things to say about Curtsinger Animal Hospital. The ladies there are amazing and DR. Curtsinger actually makes you feel like he honestly wants the best for your pet. He goes into detail and spends time giving you advice and tips on making their lives as great as they can possibly be. He gave me Hope when I had unanswered  questions from my old vet who just ignored my calls and kept charging me endless amounts of money without actually finding out what the real issues were. They have given me a new outlook on vet care and what it should be!!!!!! The vet's office is not in my home-town and that is okay. Dr. Curtsinger is not only a highly qualified vet, he's also a cat whisperer!  I have two cats who put up a terrible fight at the vets.  The last vet we tried wore protective gloves that went to her elbows.  She attempted to hold down my male cat to examine him, he wrestled, hissed, growled and eventually emptied his bowels in a fit of anger.  Needless to say I was embarrassed beyond belief.  When it was time to bring him in again, I decided to try Dr. Curtsinger since i'd heard so many good things.  He took his time getting to know my cats, stroked them during the exam so there were no issues.  Amazing!  He gave both cats a very thorough exam, explained everything to me in detail and made us all feel very comfortable.His prices are very reasonable also.  I highly recommend Dr. Curtsinger, my new vet for life! I have a bumper sticker that says "All my children are furry." Yes, I am that person and damn proud of it. My cat is my child and yes, I am educated, have all my teeth, am sane and actually attractive. With that in mind, a coworker recommended her vet Dr. Curtsinger after hearing about my lukewarm response to my experiences with other vets in town. I set up an appointment to establish my cat there and get her annual visit. I can honestly say we received great care there from every staff member. My cat gets carsick easily and unfortunately did so on our way to our first appointment there. Without going into the gruesome details, she was a hot mess and certainly fulfilled the term "one only a mother could love" at that moment. Within the first 2 min of being there, I explained that my cat got sick to the secretary who got the vet techs right away. They were sympathetic to my poor kitty who was not feeling nor looking her best at the moment and they took her in the back to give her a bath. They took me back with them so that I could be with Savannah J during her bath. After cleaning her off well, we met with the vet who actually took the time to really get to know Savannah J. Over the course of my life, I've met with a variety of vets and I really do appreciate how busy they are but I've never been overly impressed with any of them. I don't believe in over-vaccinating and Dr. Curtsinger understood that. He did not make me feel rushed at all and made Savannah J completely comfortable. He took the time to explain the purpose of certain blood tests and reviewed her recent stomach concerns. He recommended an excellent line of food (Into the Wild) and actually took the time to explain the history of the problems with the animal food industry and educate me. I thought I was being a good Mom and getting her organic food at Trader Joe's but he reviewed some issues and steered us toward a food that has agreed with Savannah J quite well. Typically vets charge an arm and a leg which I've always accepted. I was pleasantly surprised when I got our bill-we didn't spend a small fortune! I gave it a 4/5 bc they don't have the most convenient schedule which for the working gal is kinda tough! It was an overall enjoyable, educational and positive experience.
