Fort Mill Animal Hospital

Fort Mill, South Carolina
General Info
Fort Mill Animal Hospital in Fort Mill provides pet care based on the daily behavior patterns of pets, which are energetic in the morning, cautious at midday, and relaxed in the evening, just like they are at home throughout South Carolina. The clinic investigates entry posture, sound sensitivity, pacing patterns, and focal behavior with detailed scrutiny. Medical tests are in the animal cycle, so ears and teeth are checked during the curiosity phase, whereas abdominal and joint tests are done during calmness. We also get questions about tiny changes in pet behavior from pet owners. Things like where the pets sleep or rest in the house close to their mealtime. If they spend a lot of time at doors/surfaces etc. Fort Mill Animal Hospital offers diagnostic services; age-targeted physical examinations, and screenings; gastrointestinal stabilization care; endocrine care; and surgical preparation with post-operative reflection assistance. The two visits option could be more suitable for some pets or if the owner’s schedule does not allow for a longer appointment. Rather than assessing the tasks with a checklist, behavior readiness is used to assess medical tasks and adjust to patient pet’s pace and touch thresholds. Families receive debriefs consistent with their pets’ daily lives to establish an accurate timeline of symptoms, recognize behaviors following stimulation at home, and track rebalancing. Text check-ins and pacing charts (again, completely flexible) to assure follow-up care is based on the pet’s mental state, not whether they’ve met a certain clinical milestone. Fort Mill Animal Hospital provides veterinary services to South Carolina and Fort Mill families by employing treatment techniques that reflect how pets live in their actual homes at natural times of the day. Services offered at Fort Mill Animal Hospital include: Orthopedic Surgery, Surgery, In-House Pharmacy, Puppy and Kitten Care, Dental Care, Diagnostics and Behavioral Counseling. This allows pet owners in Fort Mill and nearby areas to obtain everything their pets need, from routine examinations to advanced surgeries. The clinic focuses on building a strong and long-lasting bond with pet owners by offering services that ensure the health and comfort of pets in Fort Mill throughout their lives.

My mom and I have been using this vet for 30 years. We have had numerous cats and dogs over the years and they have treated all of them. We have been happy with their services until this year. It started several months ago, when my cat all the sudden turned ill. He wouldn't walk or eat or anything. We took him there, and the doctor gave him a shot. He didn't improve so 3 days later we brought him back in, well that was a Friday. This vet closes at 12. And instead of helping us out, they just shoved us off. We ended up at the emergency vet. They gave re-hydrated my cat and sent us home. The next week he still was not better. My mom tried to take him back to Fort Mill Clinic but decided to take him to Baxter Vet instead. There we found out that my cat had a blood clot in his spine. We ended up putting him down, because nothing could be done. We felt as if Dr Leslie really didn't put the time into looking over the cat. Now, we are having to deal with my dog. She has had this growth on her chest for 3 years now. Every yearly check up, and every tim she gets her nails trimmed (2months) we would ask Dr Leslie to look at it. He kept telling us it is no big deal. Well last week it started to bleed. We took her in and Dr. Leslie gave her a shot and said that he would remove it. No other tests were done. Well my mom decided to take the dog over to Baxter Vet. Turns out it isn't just a growth, it is a Mast Cell Tumor which will most likely kill her. If Dr Leslie had listened to us and our concerns and done a 5 minute procedure a couple of years ago, my dog might have a fighting a chance. But instead it is now a very serious condition. My suggestion is to try somewhere else. They are nice and spoil animals but the fact that concerns of our weren't address 2-3 years ago really bother us. We are now having all of our animals re-checked at Baxter Vet. Like I said, we have been going here for 30 years! We like the people, but our concerns are on how well Dr Leslie is actually paying attention to animals. All he had to do was a five minute test 3 years ago to see if this "growth" was a tumor, and my dog could be able to live a lot longer. But now, the prognosis is bad....Go somewhere else, where the doctor will pay attention to you and your animals and especially your concerns! Read Less

Dr Lesslie is one of the most compassionate, kind, professional people and veterinarian we have met! Recently we had to say good-bye to our beautiful SharPei, who was 14 years old. It was one of the hardest things I have had to do. Terry, the front desk receptionist/coordinator, was forward and honest with how the procedure would take place and how the care and process would go with the Pet Care Service (private cremation). Dr Lesslie was just so kind, caring, and compassionate. All the staff that crossed our path that day - before and after - have been wonderful. I am grateful to say that they continue to be ""our vet"" to our other terrific dog, Henry. Read Less
