Place is really small and cramped... Barely fit with 2 other dogs are their people in the waiting room. But i don't care. The Vet and all the assistants were so caring and personable that we left happy even with less than great news. Honestly, what more would you want. Read Less

Great vet and great staff. Have always treated my animals wonderfully. We take 2 dogs and 3 cats here for all their medical needs and have never had any problems. Have been able to call with questions/concerns and be told what to do without needing to come in and pay for a visit. Highly recommend them to everyone I know! Read Less

New to area so found info online . I pulled up to a run down bldg -shingles falling off . Thats fine .I went in - water stains on the ceiling - fine IF the ceiling paint wasn't chipping off . My dog was sniffing & almost got her nose clipped on mouse trap . On the dog food bags were tons of MOUSE DROPPINGS literally all over . Vet was 20 MINS LATE , walked in chip on his shoulder , went off to give me a print out of blood work that needed to be done after I said that the Charlotte Spay & Neuter clinic( incredible place ) had already done that blood work panel . He responded "they aren't equipped to do that blood work ". He came back with the print out of blood work - $289 ( spay and neuter was half the price btw ) I said "that is a little pricey '" he replied "WELL START SAVING YOUR MONEY ". I said my dog had bad ears & i think she chews because it hurts her . He said "no that is behavioral . I HAVE A GUY addresses behaviors ". Then I said her hips bother her so I give her Cosequin . He responded "thats ok but I have a guy who does supplements ". They took my dogs temp with a thermometer that was in some cup with pens / pencils a,returned it BARELY CLEANED OFF . SO UNSANITARY!!!!! I went back to wait for the blood work fax that I had to call on when I arrived there because they hadn't called . The fax came through & as I said all that blood work was done . He then responded "I don't know what Cindy told you but I am no miracle worker . I have to get to know your dog ". At this point I said "well it takes more than 10 minutes ( I was being generous on the time ) to get to know her ". He said " IT FELT MORE LIKE 11 MINS ".He was UNPROFESSIONAL, TOTAL CHIP ON HIS SHOULDER , SARCASTIC, WON'T PROBLEM SOLVE WITH YOU -WOULD RATHER RUN BLOOD WORK & GIVE MEDS OR SEND YOU TO ONE OF HIS "GUYS" . _ HAD HE HELPED MY DOG , THE PLACE WAS SANITARY and ADEQUATELY STAFFED I COULD HAVE PUT UP WITH HIS OVERPRICED SARCASM . Can't say enough wonderful things about Tega Cay Animal Hospital. As a mom to a new pup I visited a number of times for vaccinations and a few times when I thought Lex was under the weather. I take him monthly just to get weighed (he's gaining five pounds each month!) and everyone makes us feel welcome. I recommend this place wholeheartedly. Read Less

Dr. Willoughby is about the finest vet you'll ever come across. He is such a caring person. My pet had to stay overnight a few times due to illness and Dr. W. called to give me regular updates. Can't say enough good stuff about Doc, Rhonda, and staff. These people really CARE for my pets! They've treated my cat and dogs for five years now and have gone above and beyond. When my pug was diagnosed with diabetes, I was heartbroken. Doc assured me immediately that everything was going to be okay and walked me through what we needed to do. Rhonda checked in a lot and wanted to know how we were doing. When my cat somehow gored the roof of her mouth, doc was more concerned with immediately getting her well than the blood on his shirt. These people have their priorities right. I recommend them to everyone. Read Less

Dr. Willoughby is about the nicest vet you'll ever come across. My cat had to stay there overnight and Dr. W. called me several times to give me updates. I am happy I took my cat there and will keep going back. We're still not sure what's wrong with my cat but I feel good that I can trust this place. I have a cat and a puppy. I had one apt. He put one in one room and one in another as they do not get along yet. It was a great experience all around the staff is professional and fun and the vet is amazing. It was reasonably priced and very convenient. I live in Tega Cay. and they are on Gold Hill rd. I can't believe there are no reviews, come on people!  I was looking for a vet before we got our beagle puppy and just could not find what I wanted with all of the up and down reviews from other vets.  one of my good friends recommended me to Dr.Willoughby.  We booked our first appointment for two days after we got our pup in July.We have now had his four puppy appointments for all shots, including the last one with neutering surgery.  Dr. Willoughby has been great.  You can tell he loves animals and taking care of your pet.  Yes, he is a little goofy and silly, but he is passionate about his job. He was happy to answer any of our questions and put us at ease being first time pet owners.  I trust him 100% with our pup and look forward to using him when we now go back each year.His staff his friendly and helpful too.  I don't think you can find anyone better! I can't begin to describe how happy I am to have a vet as loving and knowledgeable as Paul Willoughby at Tega Cay Animal Hospital. We have taken all our pets to him since moving here several years ago. He was with us to the end with our older dogs and cats and now is taking care of our two new puppies. Everyone on his staff is caring and compassionate as well. When I call to make appointment they know my name and they know my pets. They remember their history and they truly care.
