Just adopted a sweet dog from the animal shelter about a week ago. The people at the shelter told us that she could develop kennel cough since being around lots of other dogs during her time there. Two days went by and she developed a hacking-dry cough that was only getting worse. Me and my boyfriend were off work on Saturday and decided to take her to the vet. We called several places to bring her in and everyone was full. After calling about 5 different places , this vet said they could take us in. The receptionist was so sweet, very personable and delightful. Once we got there we brought all the necessary paperwork stating raven (our dog) had been given her vaccines, was micro chipped, gotten her flea and tick treatments etc. The receptionist asked for our paperwork and kept it. When we went into the room to have her examined, we had a nurse that didn't really didn't know what he was doing . Apparently the computer froze so he couldn't enter our information, he asked us the same questions that were stated on the papers left at the receptionist desk. "Has she been treated for heart worms? Has she been vaccinated?" We explained all that info was with the receptionist- but yes she had all that. He brought two other people  in the room to show him how to use the computer. Idk about you but when there's an excited dog who wants to smell/jump and see everything it can kind of get frustrating when people keep coming in and out of the room. Finally the actual vet came in and just seemed to have a huge attitude. He explained that while she does have kennel cough that it was highly likely her coughs were mostly emphasized due to her collar . We explained that she coughs the most in the middle of the night when she's not even wearing her collar cause we thought it might irritate her. He shrugged that off. Then proceeded to ask us the SAME questions about heart worms and vaccines.... ‍ why ask us for our information on paper if you're not going to follow it? He said he was looking for other parasites cause she didn't look well-kept and had lost a lot of hair on her face. We mentioned to him in the beginning that we literally adopted her a week ago and he treated us like we were the criminals that put her in this state of unkemptness. He wrote us a prescription and left. Then the nurse came back in to give us the papers to check out in the front and we explained to him (like we did to the receptionist in the beginning) that we had a paper from the animal shelter stating if the vet writes the prescription for kennel cough we can take it to the shelter and THEY will fill it for us. He quickly remembered and left the room to rewrite the prescription. 20-25 minutes later we are still waiting for him to come back. He finally does with a separate prescription for kennel cough , some other short term cough medicine (which we didn't mind paying for) but also for flea and tic medicine that we never asked for. We were so done with that place at that time that we paid the 40 bucks for those two medications and left. I am not sure if they were just having an off day but for the highly rated reviews that sold me to go there, I was extremely disappointed . Read Less

My experience at GC Vet was great. I called on a Saturday morning to make an appointment for my pup the same day, she had just had a puppy and we were afraid she was carrying more of them. They were able to see us within an hour. We even got there 30 minutes early and they saw us almost immediately. The nurses and doctors were great and we didn’t have to wait long at all for X-rays and tests to be completed. They broke down the cost of everything before we paid to make sure there were no hidden costs. They followed up with us a couple days later to see how our girl was doing. We are not pleased with the service we had received while at this vet. We have two rescue dogs, one we got just a few months ago at the age of two, and we not only were unhappy with the high prices of simple check ups which were not completed to their fullest (if our dog was uncooperative with something the staff wanted they would just say "It's okay we won't do this today) but we had also made appointments at specific times that were delayed. We understand that we have a reactive dog that may not be easy to work with as she was not socialized by her previous owners and had been in the pound two separate times, but the excuse of our appointment was delayed because "other patients took the examination rooms before you could" is unacceptable to me. It was clearly due to the fact that they were preferentially taking other pets ahead of ours. I would not recommend this vet to anyone. Read Less

We just recently moved to South Carolina from Colorado. One of my fur babies (more like giant fur babies) had a wound before we left Colorado. Once we got into SC I looked up veterinarian offices near me. Goose Creek Veterinary Clinic was ranked VERY high. I decided to give them a try and TRUST ME I ssssoooo understand why they have such high ratings and reviews. We had an amazing visit, very knowledgeable and I could tell they cared for my fur baby and for us. The front desk ladies were amazing, kind and helpful, and the vet assistants and vet himself I feel really helped us understand what was going on with the wound and how we can help it heal quicker. I recently acquired a new puppy and she was really sick. I called the vet office and they had me bring her in asap. Thanks to them she is doing so much better and I couldn't believe they worked us in so quickly. The people here are always super sweet and nice, the facility is always spotless and they make sure you understand what is going on, what they are doing and the risk to your fur baby. "Tally" the Pug and I can't begin to explain how awesome EVERYBODY is at Goose Creek Veterinary Clinc-"GCVC" !!!!We love Dr. Lemar. He is very knowledgeable and has a soothing calm presents about himself that puts you and your fur baby at ease...Not to mention he diagnosed her with hypothyroidism and Cushing Diease...which has made a huge difference in her overall health...especially her weight. In less then 2 month Tally went from 40-28 pounds- and is excited about picking out a bikini  to wear this year-.All of the vet techs are fabulous; however, I have to give a personal shout-out to one~CVT/LVT-Krystal is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G...Very personable, knowledgeable, flexible, and can trim a pug named "Tally" nails like a Super-Star!  MOST importantly Krystal is so empathetic...Which personally, I found is an essentiel character trait in being such an effective C.V.T.  I honestly can't say enough amazing things about CVT-Krystal-The front desk-Shannon, Elise, Kyle, ECT... You are all sooooooooooo delightful- Each and everyone of you always make "Tally" and I feel so welcomed from the moment we walk, "or in some case are carried" through the door-.  Tally has recently had to spend "all day" visits with GCVC in order to have blood work and other test completed. Whenever I've called to check on her EVERYONE always knows who I am immediately and has a personal story to tell me concerning Tally from that particular day...Which for me means the world and speaks volume concerning their true character-Tally and I are truly blessed to have such a dynamic staff/team at GCVC to help with ALL of Tally's needs. They are amazing. They see my 3yr old pit bull Waffles and now my 4 month old pit bull Bandit. They are so nice, no question is a dumb question and they go that extra for your pet. They don’t run tests that aren’t needed to jack the price up on the bill. They only do what they feel is necessary for your pet. It’s amazing. when your pets Dr visit is less than yours. Read Less

There is another vet closer to me that will see exotic pets, but I'm always going to come here. I found a very sick/injured wild anole. This was the only place that was willing to see him after I didn't hear back from several wildlife places.Everyone--from the front desk to the vets--are so personable. They were willing to do what they could for the anole, despite it being hard to treat a very tiny, wild animal. You can tell they really cherish all forms of life.They tried their best, but the poor thing passed after awhile. I may have only been its caregiver for a little over a month, but the staff handled it like I was losing a family pet that I had all my life. I even received a letter of condolence from them. (It had a heartfelt message per my experience. Not just a signature on a card.) It was very reassuring.Very empathetic, very knowledgeable, and willing to do everything they can. The care is affordable, and they won't cheat you on a bill. They practiced financial honesty many times with me. They are quick to return calls and take the time for you and your pet. I trust the vets at CGVC with my pets.  I'm a helicopter dog mom and I tend to over-research, so the vets have to deal with that and they seem to do a good job answering my questions and letting me say my piece and then giving me their assessment.  The ONE complaint I have is that I took my greyhound here on his last day and asked for a paw print to be mailed to me since we chose to let him gain his wings.  The paw print never arrived and well... My girl is super sick and we don't have a vet in this city so we went to check out Goose Creek Vet.  I gladly report I was pleasantly impressed.  They adorable deco with silhouettes of animals playing on the walls to the dog prints embossed into he ceiling tiles made me laugh at the playfulness of it all.  Bright and open welcomes you at the front and the staff is super outgoing and helpful.  I was checked in so quickly and even having never been there was greeted and had an actual conversation that got to know me and my needs for our pets.The actual rooms are cute and functional to the point it almost doesn't feel like a doctors office. Sam, my tech for the visit, was thoughtful, caring and thorough!  She took time to listen to my concerns and Gladys history.  She took great notes and didn't miss any details and asked great follow-up questions.  I felt very comfortable immediately with her.  Dr. Sullivan was our vet today and he also was attentive and listened with interest.  Knowing we have several pets he was informative about care and preemptive suggestions. Our kitten was extremely ill and after checking her out the Drs. determined she had eaten thread.  The  next day they preformed surgery, she is now home fighting her cone ( to keep staples in) and her confined spaces. I have been coming here for two year and they have always been nice. Yesterday i had brought my newly adopted cat who is having URI. During the check up the vet tech said she was going to take my cats weight and temperature, this is something that they normally do in front of me but this time the tech took my cat to the back and said that she did a fecal flotation test. She never asked for my permission before doing it and charging me $15. And i dont even know how she got a stool sample from my cat by holding him for less than 3 minutes. At check out i paid over $100. They never told me what i paid for and just asked me to swiped my card. I was thinking that they charged me for the test and the additional vaccine. And at the end I found out they charged me for medications that they never asked if im interested in getting from their clinic (this are medication i can get for free from animal society). Bottomline is i was charged over $70 of stuff that i was never informed and never asked for. Read Less

I have taken some of my exotics here for the first time and I had a great and pleasant greeting I'm when I walked in but when I met the vet who helped me I was not happy at all. She was very obnoxious and handled my animals in a rude and not correct way and began to tell me I was caring for them in a bad way and not properly at all. I had been up all night with my Service Do Dakota while he was having unexplained seizures. I called the hospital and was told to come right in I was greeted by a friendly staff person, who took my dog immediately to.tje doctor and the nurse gathered my information. They had allowed me to see Dakota before I left as they were going to be keeping her all day for seizure reasons. Very friendly staff, nice and kind doctor. They deserve 5 stars Read Less

I had been bringing my baby Oreo here since March of last year and they were always loving and caring towards him. This past Monday we had to put him down because he was very sick and today I received a little gift they made for me. We adopted a dog and needed a vet checkup in a very small time period because of heartworm treatment. I rarely compliment vets for their stellar service. We've had so many bad experiences. This office squeezed us in because they understood why we didn't want to bring him after he began treatment with the shelter where we adopted him. When I got there, he was a little rowdy, they were stellar! They put us in a room quickly and our fight rescue, who is always friendly but rarely trusting with strangers, just LOVED them! He happily trotted off to be examined with a total stranger! He knows a dog lover from a doctor with an expensive car payment! I did have one test run, totally unnecessary but it was my request, I was actually surprised by how little they charged. We will definitely be returning! Read Less

I brought my sick 11 year old lab in. She was my first baby and the smartest, coolestand best dog anyone could have. The service I received is sickening. She unfortunately was put down and the vet was just terrible. I'm saying my goodbyes, to my best friend and this b**ch is going to tell me that's enough time. Wtf. I wouldn't even give them 1 star. Such a terrible thing to go through and your going to say that's enough time. 5 minute's. The billing people were rude as he** too, they wouldn't do anything without a $400 down payment. My sister-in-law brought her laboring mom canine in because one of her pups got stuck in the birth canal during delivery.  The doctors and staff were able to safely and efficiently deliver all the pups through emergency Caesarian section at a cost effective level.  Mom and babies went home sooner than what is medically advised due to financial reasons, but this staff worked tirelessly and outside of normal operating hours to ensure mom and pups received all the necessary care (and then some!) even with finances as a key factor.  Thank you, all, for your tremendous compassion for the patients.  I have no doubt that you have every pet as the priority in mind. After reading the Google reviews, I chose to take my dog here since they received 5 stars. I was not impressed at all. They told me on the phone I had 22 min to get there for my appointment and then they took me in a half hour after my appointment time. The vet tech was nice, but the dr did not seem interested at all. He gave me his thoughts and then bounced. I spent more time waiting than talking to anyone. Then during check out I was using my care credit card and had an issue with it being frozen so I had to call them which took over 20 min. The two people at the front desk saw me struggling to hold on to my puppy that I just rescued from being tied to a cinder block and didn't even offer to help so I could settle the payment issue  Then there was a young women and her daughter in the waiting room with their cat that were there before I got in and when I left. As I was paying she asked how much longer did she have to wait for her test results and the front desk said she didn't need to wait at all. So she was sitting there for over an hour and they just let her sit there. She was upset and voiced her concern. Once she left, the front desk staff started talking about her and acting rude and unprofessional. I won't be coming back. When I pick a vet clinic I expect them to love animals equal to me or more. Reasons why I love this veterinary clinic and why you should take your dogs,cats, and exotics: 1) waiting in the lobby and in the room is minimal. I think the most I ever waited was about 5 minutes. 2) The office staff (front desk, vets, techs, etc) are always friendly and talk to your pets and make you feel important. They genuinely seem to care about your animal(s). 3) Inexpensive! I have dogs and exotic pets, and it is impossible to find a place for my exotics, AND one that does not charge an arm and a leg! If you need something large done, such as a surgery, they also have options to help you with payments. 4) it is easy to get appointments. You don't have to wait weeks or even days to get in! I've been able to get in same day! 5) I had a medication issue with my fur babies that was becoming a continued problem. Dr. Brown and her staff were able to speak to me over the phone and allowed me to come in with my pet for a quick check-up and did not charge me for the meds or the visit! 6) My visits have not felt rushed like at other places, and the vet answered all my questions and addressed any concerns I had. The staff is wonderful, the prices seem fair in comparison to what others I have seen, and my dog LOVES them. Seriously, every time we pull up he goes crazy wagging his tail and entire body! We started taking our Boston and English Bulldog (Windston) to Dr. Lerma about three weeks ago. A couple days ago our English Bulldog came down with an auto immune disease (AIHA) and required serious care. We were torn with the decisions regarding his prognosis, cost, and overall outcome. Dr. Lerma was so kind and understanding while helping us work through these difficult decisions; he even brought his own dog into the office today just in case Winston needed emergency blood. We decided to move forward with treatment to try to save our doggies life, unfortunately he quit breathing on us. Dr. Lerma rushed in and brought him back to life. Dr. Lerma was great and really helped lead us in the right direction. Unfortunately, our angel doggie was just too worn our and passed away this evening. Dr. Lerma was so very attentive and willing to help walk us through the best decisions and care. We will always appreciate his efforts and refer people to him every time we get the chance.
