Island Equine Clinic

Johns Island, South Carolina
General Info
At Island Equine Clinic in Johns Island, every detail—from lobby design to exam room acoustics—aims to prevent negative imprinting on companion animals throughout South Carolina, promoting a seamless and tranquil bond with veterinary care. The entrance experience is all about designing for the slow. Pets can stay in the car if they want to, but they are also free to use the side entrance meant for animals who struggle with sensory issues. The interior is quite minimalistic and serves as a natural setting to accustom animals to smells and sights. The testing procedure only begins after the animal has regained enough consciousness to orient itself. Pet owners’ experiences of the pets’ morning routines, visitors’ reactions, and signs exhibited due to home discomfort also determine the number of daily visits. Island Equine Clinic offers diagnostic services in tandem with hydration evaluation and injury monitoring. The clinic also examines the cardiopulmonary mechanism and maps immune health while providing surgical consultations. Pain and imprint risks can be minimized by spreading the sessions on different days or stopping the treatment after the diagnostic phase to continue later. Memory cues remain effective for senior dogs, cats, and exotic animals because the respective species’ memory components interlinked with their environments are stable. Post-treatment guidance focuses on returning individuals to their homes. Which space to lie in when appetite and movement are temporarily disrupted and how to use lighting and fragrance for soothing the body. The way we design follow-up therapy focuses on changing emotions rather than just tracking symptom reduction. Island Equine Clinic offers a type of veterinary care that becomes an ingrained memory for pets and part of the daily lives of families in Johns Island and nearby South Carolina communities. Island Equine Clinic offers the following services: House Calls, Deworming, Radiology (X-rays), Allergy Testing, Pocket Pet Care, Chiropractic Care, Bloodwork, Wellness Exams and Nutritional Counseling. Thanks to this vast array of services, pet owners in Johns Island and the surrounding areas can rest assured that their pets will receive anything from regular checkups to complex medical procedures. Thanks to the veterinary clinic’s long-term safety and comfort services for pets, it is one of the most trusted local establishments on Johns Island.

Well while Cloudy and Hattie do NOT like to get their shots and treatments, they do appreciate the great work that Edisto does to keep them healthy. When I bought Cloudy and then Callie back in 2001, I said to my friend oh no, where will I find a good equine vet? Wendi Wagnon said John Malark. She was totally right. John saved my friend's horse, Reason, when we hauled him there in middle of night in 2006. Got to have a great surgeon when you own horses! Read Less
