I do not recommend bringing your dog to this facility.  I boarded my dog over the weekend, and frankly he would have been better off if I would have left him alone with a bowl of food and water.  I had a wonderful impression of the office staff, however when I went to pick him up on the last day (Sunday) I couldn't figure out where to pick him up at.  The office told me they would be open 5-5:30pm for boarding pick up, no one notified me of where to go to get him.  After walking around the property for about 10 min I finally found where I was supposed to go.  I walk in and the man who is in there never once looks me in the eye.  I tell him I'm there to pick up my dog, he doesn't say a word, he just walks over and unlatches the cage as my dog runs out.  The employee then walks over to grab the bag of stuff I brought for my dog ( still in the bag- seemingly like it was never given to my dog).  The employee never once said a word to me.  As soon as my dog walks outside he immediately uses the bathroom, as if hes been holding it for quite some time.  He also is very bloated due to being over fed (which I told the office employees how much he should get). It seemed like they dumped a bowl of food out for him and left him. His ears are infected to the point of having blood blisters because he has been scratching.  I was never once notified about my dog's ears over the course of his stay at Palmetto Vet in McConnell's.  I called the office to let them know of my experience, just so that they could fix the situation for the future.  Unfortunately, the office manager did not call to consult about my experience or apologize.  I do not recommend sending your fur-babies here.  I was so upset that I had left my precious puppy in this environment. After trying several vets in the area for our three Shar Peis, I was told by a good friend about Palmetto Vet. That was a few years ago and I haven't even thought about going anywhere else. I love everything about them. Trustworthy, friendly and great prices. We've lost two of our fur babies to old age, and they showed such compassion to me and my family. I can't say enough good things about the doctors and staff at Palmetto Vet! I take my two cats to see Dr. Love. We visited today to have one cat checked for a urinary tract infection and ear problems. After examining our cat, Dr. Love was kind enough to invite my fiance and I into the lab to see the swab of my cat's ears in the microscope. It was cool to actually see what was causing my cat's ear problems! He was thorough in his examination of her and patiently answered all of our questions. I appreciate how friendly and professional he was! After we met with Dr. Love, two technicians came in to clean our cat's ears. They were so sweet and patient with our kitty! On June 28 of this year I rescued a kitten who looked like his jaw had almost been torn off. To this day I still have no idea where he came from, or how he came to be injured; however, Dr. Love went to great lengths to repair his face and everyone in the office was so kind and loving. Treble has become the part of our home that we didn't know we needed. He is the absolute sweetest animal, and incredibly beautiful. He survived because you guys never gave up on him (even after pulled his stiches out three times!), and because of all the love. I also brought my soon to be in-laws dog in when she fell ill, and found she had contracted parvo. Your vet at the Rock Hill office took immediate action and now, three weeks later, she is happy and healthy as can be! We have been taking our pets (cats, chihuahuas, rat terrier/Jack Russell mix) to Dr. Love ever since he opened. We wouldn't trust any other veterinarian practice other than Palmetto Veterinary Medicine. We have also seen Dr. McGarity said and we trust him as well. Both of these veterinarians have met us after hours in emergency situations at odd times at night. Dr. McGarity even performed emergency surgery on our dog when her uterus ruptured late at night on a Sunday. He called us around midnight to let us know the surgery went well and kept us informed throughout the recovery. This practice has taken excellent care of our pets. They are knowledgeable in their practice of veterinary medicine and don't price gouge the customer. The staff are all friendly and helpful. One of the ladies even let our little chihuahua sit with her at the receptionist desk because she saw how lonely and how high her anxiety was when we boarded her there while on vacation. She held her and loved on her just as we would have. We were so grateful. We have used the grooming services as well. We have been highly pleases with the level of care given to our pets and with their other services such as boarding and grooming. We highly recommend this vet. Read Less

I have a German Shepherd, he is my baby. As I'm sure everyone feels that way. Dozier tore his ACL. Dr. Love took the time to draw it out and show me what happened and how we could fix it. I was so worried about leaving Dozier overnight, he had never slept on cement, I can not tell you how happy I was when I went by to check on him, to find him laying comfortable on a comforter. I don't know how I feel about this place. My cat is better after taking her here, but I did not like how they handled her. They were very rough from the start even though she was so sick she could barely move. They also did not use a pill popper when giving her medication and as a result had to struggle quite a bit giving it to her. They took her to the back to get help getting it down and she came back with blood pouring out of her mouth and told me she bit her lip. The strange part was that I heard one of the doctors say "just tell her she bit her lip" and it had me questioning why they'd say that if that's what really happened. My dog Stuart was one of Dr Love's first 100 patients. They saw us through a good many problem, three surgeries, diabetes, blindness and then our boy's death. Dr McGarity even met us at 10:30 at night to take care of Stuart. They treated us so well when he passed, too. Our other dog is a patient. I can't recommend them highly enough!! I would like to say that this is one of the least compassionate businesses I have every dealt with to be an animal care provider. I took my dog in to be evaluated for a tumor on his hip at which time Dr. McGarity indicated it should be taken off surgically for which I agreed. I left the dog in their care only to receive a call a couple hours later notifying me that the dog had died. I returned to their office to try to gain an explanation as to what happened. When questioning Dr. McGarity, his only explanation was "his damn heart quit." He would provide no additional information other that they would bury the dog and he made sure to tell me that they would not charge me for the burial. Upon geeave at this time, I was abruptly called out by the front desk and told that before I could leave that I would have to settle my bill. try to communicate with Dr. Love by email regarding this matter, but he does not even have the common courtesy to respond. I took my recently rescued kitten in for a standard exam and to get her caught up on her shots. All of the staff was pleasant, warm, friendly, and professional. The assistants made my cat feel right at home and were very kind. The vet, I believe it was Adam, was quite friendly and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and didn't take long at all to have me in and out of the office in no time at all. The office is clean and neat, and even though it's brand new I can tell they keep a high standard, especially after seeing the reviews for the McConnels office. Wish I could give 10 stars. Hands down the ABSOLUTE BEST vet we've EVER had. We'll never go anywhere else. Dr. Love, Dr. McGarity & their team are absolutely amazing.They are friendly & personable, super informative, very reasonably priced & take PHONOMENAL care of all the animals. I've NEVER experienced a vet like Palmetto, so thankful we found them. I know our 2 dogs are in GREAT hands with them. Thank you all for being so awesome. Note: my opinion is based on PVM&S seeing my 2 large (both 50+ lbs) dogs for regular visits as well as 2 ACL surgeries & 1 of my dog's extreme allergies (which I'm proud to say they've COMPLETELY cleared up). I have gone to Palmetto Vet for several years and have seen both Dr. McGarity and Dr Love. They and their staff have always been wonderful to us, and in the case of the death of our cat they were nothing but considerate and sensitive. They did euthanize her due to her health problems, and when I came to pick her up she was wrapped gently in a towel and in a box. They offered to bury her for me, but we wanted her with our family. With our dogs they've been very accurate and caring. They even helped out with an injured owl that was found at my daughters preschool, we got her in a box and I drove her out to their practice. They worked with the Raptor Center to try and help her. I have nothing but good things to say about them! Read Less

I have had several BAD experiences with this practice and will not be taking any more of my animals to them. Here s why: 1. Dr. Adam (though a really nice guy) misdiagnosed my dog. The dog died. That outcome might have been unavoidable ultimately, but it frustrated me that neither he nor anyone else would LISTEN to me when I expressed my fear that the dog was terminal. They assured me she would be fine. She died a few hours later, and they waited too late to call me to enable me to get there in time. After she died, they presented her to me in a garbage bag like so much trash. That dog was my beautiful baby, not someone's garbage. I was horrified, and have had a tough time getting the image out of my head of Dr. Love walking out the back door, arm extended, holding a big black trash bag away from his body like he was taking out the household trash. I found Dr. Adam and Dr. Love to be fairly unsympathetic and unconcerned about the entire situation. 2. Twice now the frontdesk personnel have been rude and dismissive when I have called to schedule appointments. The woman I spoke with this morning made it quite clear that my call was in inconvenience. Well, no problem, Ma'am. I can assure you I will not call Palmetto Vet in McConnells again. 3. During a different visit, the frontdesk person was rude when I was in the office. Maybe that individual is not a petowner, or perhaps customer service just isn't her cup of tea, but wow. Rude. Read Less
