Tried a new vet because it was closer to my home.Sadly, it was a waste of lots of time and money.They charged me twice for a new patient exam and was trying to do unnecessary ultrasounds/xrays and other procedures they could inflate the bill with.Left me in a room for 1.5hrs when I started questioning the procedures. The vet never came back in but sent a front desk girl to come tell me my pet's urine was clean and hand me a bill.Of course they "don't know why the bill was so high" or "why I had two full exam fees" on a clean urine analysis follow-up, but they would have their billing person, Tara call me. I have never got a call from Tara and I left several messages.After I told them I would never be back there, I received a letter from Tara saying they won't treat my pet anymore and they hope I find a better match. They never addressed the double charges, they just ignored everything. I've since read about them overcharging and double charging other customers on review sites, so I am writing this because it seems it happens too much there. Pathetic to make a business of taking advantage of people worried about their pets.With so many actual legit Vets in the area, avoid this greedy one.

Dr. Steele is a humanitarian. It shows in everything he does both for the pet and the owner. If you seek a really smart Veterinarian, who anticipates your questions, is astute to your animal's needs this is the doctor for you. McKenzie is 13. In that time she has suffered with a chronic skin condition. He is the first Vet. to prescribe not only for the itching but the ancillary problems caused by the itching. AAC of Mt. Pleasant is truly the GOLD STANDARD of veterinary services. We took our 9-week old puppy there this morning and were absolutely stunned at the excellence of the AAC. Dr. Leslie Steele was superb as were the all of the staff we met. We will never take our dog anywhere else. We recommend ACA with reservation or hesitation. They truly CARE about animals and provide outstanding service.

I have been taking my dogs to Advanced Animal Care since they opened, probably close to 20 years now. Dr. David & Dr. Leslie are truly some of the kindest people I know. They always squeeze me in for an appointment, even when an unexpected illness or event occurs. They always take time to educate & explain health issues, treatment options, and possible preventative measures for the future. They make me and my pets feel valued, important to them, & like a member of their family. I honestly can't say enough great things about them, & I will be trusting my pets' care to them for life!

Dr Steel was very kind and professional in how he explained my concerns.. with being a new patient he took quality time introducing himself to my pet and with me. He wanted to make sure my pet was comfortable being in a strange environment before starting any examination. His entire staff is very friendly and you can tell they like their work.
I have seen many vets over my travels and never experienced a Veterinarian that has given my pet or me so much time and shown as much kindness. They suggest but don't push products or ideas.

This vet has blown me away with their care of my dogs and their customer service. They are also much more affordable than some of the other local vets. I moved here in 2016 and found it difficult to find a vet that I felt fit not only our expectation of care but also our budget. The doctors are extremely thorough with the exams and have made both of my dogs feel very comfortable and safe during their visits. I highly recommend them!

They continue to stay up to date on veterinary care and procedures as well as show compassion and kindness to our dear family members. You won't find a more qualified center for your pets- from large German Shepherds to the smallest Maltese!

I was always happy with the service and advice received, but when it came time for Bodie to cross over the rainbow bridge i was floored with the caring and compassion displayed. Our 3 dogs are our family. We want healthcare that is excellent- and we found that at Advanced Animal Care. The staff at the desk welcomed us and showed us to an exam room as soon as we got there. Everyone was so pleasant! Dr David Steele came in, got to know us, and got down on the dogs level. This was an indicator we found the right vet. He thoroughly examined everyone. He answered all our questions. He even emailed us after the visit! We are very pleased to find this practice.

With all the vets between Summerville and Mt Pleasant, I choose this vet hands down. I have been bringing my two dogs and cats to Dr. Steele's for over three years. Advanced Animal Care also has their technicians trained in low stress handling. This handling helps a lot with my Shiba Inu, who is not a fan of strangers. He use to get so worked up, that he would throw up. But now with their low stress techniques, he comes out wanting treats. The best veterinarians in the tricounty area, comes 5 "paws" recommended.

It was our first time visiting the office. Our 11 year old Great Dane got a bacterial infection back for the third time and we decided to try a new vet. We heard good things from our neighbor. We saw Dr. Love, who was covering for the usual vet. We have no complaints. We were seen quickly and he took good care of our girl. He actually saved us quite a bit of $ compared to the other office we've been using. The staff were all very friendly and helpful as well. Very happy with our experience.

Sadly my baby's diagnosis was cancer, but they were very compassionate and explained everything to me even though I was barely coherent. Dr. Steele is certified in low-stress handling, and if my other babies ever need anything beyond routine care, we will go to Dr. Steele (we live in Summerville). Dr's. David & Leslie Steele are not only amazing Veterinarians, they are amazing human beings... filled with warmth, kindness, compassion, empathy, sincere care for people & animals, knowledge, humor, wisdom, and professionalism. They're down-to-earth, real, and genuine. I have three dogs and a tight budget and they are always so patient and understanding in making decisions about what is best for my dogs... what is absolutely necessary and what can be treated naturally and/or at home. There's no question in my mind that they do genuinely and authentically care about my pets and I. No matter how short a notice or how panicked the question, they are always patient, kind, and thorough and make me feel like my 3 babies & I are important to them. The quality of care they provide is unparalleled. Their entire staff is comprised of wonderful, caring people... everyone there makes me feel welcome and like part of the family... from the receptionists to the vet techs to the support staff. Best vets ever!

The veterinarians and technicians are awesome. Dr. David is a sweetheart and a little weird, but most brilliant people are. :-) Dr. Leslie is wonderful on several levels. I feel my dogs and cat are getting high quality care by people who truly love animals.
My only complaint is the reception staff. The women who greet you at the front desk need to work on their people skills. Otherwise, it's a great practice.

I had to put my 14 year old chocolate lab to sleep about a month ago. It was the most difficult and devastating thing I've ever done. I was in such a state of denial about his condition and thought that "there must be something else I can do". He was deaf, almost blind and had trouble getting up and walking. I loved him so much, I just couldn't let him go. He still interacted well with me, so in my mind he was OK. The morning he woke up crying and couldn't stand on his own, I knew that I was being selfish and that it was time. I laid on the floor with him for hours, petting him and telling him how much I loved him. Dr. David Steele was amazing. He got down on the floor with me and my dog, and his calming words and presence reassured me that I was not taking his life, but giving him a gift. He truly felt my pain, and did everything he could to ease it. I will be eternally grateful for his compassion and empathy for the loss of my precious boy. For me, this is the only vet I would ever take my pets to.

We have been taking our dog to see Dr. Steele for almost a year and a half. He takes care of emergency situations very well. Dr. Steele saved our dogs life thanks to all of the intensive work he did. He got our dog x-rays, legwork and transferred her to emergency service. I have so much confidence in Dr. David. Him and Leslie are very thorough and spend a lot of time with the pets. They are willing to answer any concerns. Our dog wouldn't be here without them.

They always squeeze me in for an appointment, even when an unexpected illness or event occurs. They always take time to educate & explain health issues, treatment options, and possible preventative measures for the future. They make me and my pets feel valued, important to them, & like a member of their family. I honestly can't say enough great things about them, & I will be trusting my pets' care to them for life!

Dr Steel was very kind and professional in how he explained my concerns.. with being a new patient he took quality time introducing himself to my pet and with me. He wanted to make sure my pet was comfortable being in a strange environment before starting any examination. His entire staff is very friendly and you can tell they like their work.
I have seen many vets over my travels and never experienced a Veterinarian that has given my pet or me so much time and shown as much kindness. They suggest but don't push products or ideas.

This vet has blown me away with their care of my dogs and their customer service. They are also much more affordable than some of the other local vets. I moved here in 2016 and found it difficult to find a vet that I felt fit not only our expectation of care but also our budget. The doctors are extremely thorough with the exams and have made both of my dogs feel very comfortable and safe during their visits. I highly recommend them!

Our 3 dogs are our family. We want healthcare that is excellent- and we found that at Advanced Animal Care. The staff at the desk welcomed us and showed us to an exam room as soon as we got there. Everyone was so pleasant! Dr David Steele came in, got to know us, and got down on the dogs level. This was an indicator we found the right vet. He thoroughly examined everyone. He answered all our questions. He even emailed us after the visit! We are very pleased to find this practice.

With all the vets between Summerville and Mt Pleasant, I choose this vet hands down. I have been bringing my two dogs and cats to Dr. Steele's for over three years. Advanced Animal Care also has their technicians trained in low stress handling. This handling helps a lot with my Shiba Inu, who is not a fan of strangers. He use to get so worked up, that he would throw up. But now with their low stress techniques, he comes out wanting treats. The best veterinarians in the tricounty area, comes 5 "paws" recommended.

It was our first time visiting the office. Our 11 year old Great Dane got a bacterial infection back for the third time and we decided to try a new vet. We heard good things from our neighbor. We saw Dr. Love, who was covering for the usual vet. We have no complaints. We were seen quickly and he took good care of our girl. He actually saved us quite a bit of $ compared to the other office we've been using. The staff were all very friendly and helpful as well. Very happy with our experience.

Sadly my baby's diagnosis was cancer, but they were very compassionate and explained everything to me even though I was barely coherent. Dr. Steele is certified in low-stress handling, and if my other babies ever need anything beyond routine care, we will go to Dr. Steele (we live in Summerville). They're down-to-earth, real, and genuine. I have three dogs and a tight budget and they are always so patient and understanding in making decisions about what is best for my dogs... what is absolutely necessary and what can be treated naturally and/or at home. There's no question in my mind that they do genuinely and authentically care about my pets and I. No matter how short a notice or how panicked the question, they are always patient, kind, and thorough and make me feel like my 3 babies & I are important to them. The quality of care they provide is unparalleled. Their entire staff is comprised of wonderful, caring people... everyone there makes me feel welcome and like part of the family... from the receptionists to the vet techs to the support staff. The veterinarians and technicians are awesome. Dr. David is a sweetheart and a little weird, but most brilliant people are. :-) Dr. Leslie is wonderful on several levels. I feel my dogs and cat are getting high quality care by people who truly love animals.
My only complaint is the reception staff. The women who greet you at the front desk need to work on their people skills. Otherwise, it's a great practice.

I had to put my 14 year old chocolate lab to sleep about a month ago. It was the most difficult and devastating thing I've ever done. I was in such a state of denial about his condition and thought that "there must be something else I can do". He was deaf, almost blind and had trouble getting up and walking. I loved him so much, I just couldn't let him go. He still interacted well with me, so in my mind he was OK. The morning he woke up crying and couldn't stand on his own, I knew that I was being selfish and that it was time. I laid on the floor with him for hours, petting him and telling him how much I loved him. Dr. David Steele was amazing. He got down on the floor with me and my dog, and his calming words and presence reassured me that I was not taking his life, but giving him a gift. He truly felt my pain, and did everything he could to ease it. I will be eternally grateful for his compassion and empathy for the loss of my precious boy. For me, this is the only vet I would ever take my pets to.

We have been taking our dog to see Dr. Steele for almost a year and a half. He takes care of emergency situations very well. Dr. Steele saved our dogs life thanks to all of the intensive work he did. He got our dog x-rays, legwork and transferred her to emergency service. I have so much confidence in Dr. David. Him and Leslie are very thorough and spend a lot of time with the pets. They are willing to answer any concerns. Our dog wouldn't be here without them.
