I took my 14 year old cat to a local weekend clinic to have him checked out, as Cats Only was closed.  The experience there was less than positive and very expensive.  They did his exam in a back room without me being present and it went on from there.  I started this review with these comments to contrast my experiences at Cats Only.  Dr. Bucy, Dr. Fuller and their staff are as kind, professional and informative as I have ever experienced at a veterinary clinic.  I worked in a veterinary clinic years ago, so I have some expectations of how an animal should be treated.  Cats Only exceeded my expectations on all levels. For animal lovers, one can stress more than their fur baby when a vet visit is in order. Made an appointment a few days ago to bring my cat Nala in for a visit. I won't bore you with the details of, why an appointment was made. But I will tell you that this organization is extremely professional. I was greeted with a smile from Rita (who was behind the desk). She also went above and beyond in cleaning Nala off since she got sick in the car. I have a dog as well and usually take Savannah and him to the same vet. We just moved to the Charleston area and while I had taken Waldo into the vet Savannah hadn't gone. That changed when she ended up getting fleas, which I understand is a big problem in downtown. So I took her to the same vet her brother had been going too, well without naming names I'll never take her back. It wasn't the normal vet we see, this was someone filling in but I didn't like her at all and felt like she really didn't like cats. Savannah needed to get groomed because of the fleas and the front desk person recommended Cats Only. I made her an appointment for the next day and they were great with her. She needs to get her teeth cleaned as well and I've made an appointment to get that done. The staff is kind, understanding and gets cats! Although Savannah might not enjoy the entire process I feel comfortable taking her here. Read Less

We have been so pleased with the quality of service at Cat's Only since we moved here a few years ago. Because this practice (as the name states) only focuses on cat's, they know they're stuff. And they care deeply about their furry clients. The doctor always spends time with us explaining things in detail to make sure we understand. And the entire staff is just so warm and welcoming. I'd used a cat-exclusive vet in the past and my cat seemed to like it, so it was only natural to pursue the same again and I haven't been disappointed. The staff is very friendly and flexible. When I moved to Mount Pleasant over a year ago I saw the Cats Only clinic sign while driving down 17 and decided to take my fur baby Abra Kadabra here. She was due for a yearly check up then. She loves people but gets very stressed around other animals. When I came in for the check up I left her in the car with a friend and told the tech this. They were kind enough to make sure that no other cats would be in the lobby or would come out of the other waiting room until Abra was safely in her exam room. The exam room was clean. The tech clipped her nails very quickly. Her exam went well and she seemed to like Dr Fuller even with him poking her in the belly. The next visit I had was about 6 months ago bc my military husband may have been getting orders to Hawaii or Guam. I called before going and told them the situation. When I arrived they had printed out all the information from the Hawaii website (which is more stringent than Guam) and had the check list available for me. They gave her the vaccine needed and after the waiting period I brought her back to have her blood drawn. They did all the paperwork and sent the blood work to the lab (in either Texas of Kansas) themselves. Recently Abra started to have urinary troubles. Unfortunately Dr Fuller was out of the office that day so I went to Veterinary Specialty Care. They assumed it was a bacterial infection and gave her antibiotics SQ fluids and pain/inflammation medicine. She seemed to be doing better until the pain medication wore off. I took her to VSC again bc it was a weekend and Abra was scared to death of the vet and the techs. She would run from them and hiss and hide in her cage. They offered to take X-rays to check for kidney stones but they couldn't do anything about stones if she did have them so I had them give her pain meds till we could go see Dr Fuller. When we got to Cats Only the following Monday Abra was at ease with Dr Fuller and the techs. She jumped right on the table and tried to snuggle them like she normally does. Even after multiple visits with exams, X-rays, and shots she was warm with them. She ended up having a stress condition for which Dr Fuller prescribed special food. When I came to pick up the prescription he had provided a sample bag that was large enough to feed Abra for almost a month! Dr Fuller is very patient and kind. I would always ask tons of questions and he was more than happy to answer them. I never felt rushed and he was never the one to cut the appointment. He would sit there and pet Abra until I was ready to leave. The vet techs are very knowledgeable and competent. They only have two exam rooms which have always been very clean during my visits. When I would call they would do their best to answer all of my questions and help out my baby without me having to physically bring her in so that she wasn't unnecessarily stressed. I love this place. The staff is BEYOND friendly and you can tell they are passionate about cats. I have been bringing my baby here for care and boarding for almost two years. Now she has a brother, and we still go for checkups, shots, and the complimentary (yes, that means FREE!) nail trims upon occasion. When it's difficult to talk on the phone (I have a busy job) they have even coordinated appointments and transferred records via email, and babysat my kitties during business hours so I could work. I have been bringing my cat, Coosi Tipper, here to Dr Fuller for years. He is a calm. kind, and excellent vet, and I would recommend him to anyone. My cat has his yearly physicals, his teeth cleanings, and immunizations here. Once when CT was recovering from an emergency admission to an animal hospital, he became dehydrated and stopped his eliminations. Dr Fuller quickly got him rehydrated and back on track. The staff here is very professional and caring, and welcomes everyone in such a pleasant way. The office is clean and well-organized. Highest recommendation! Read Less

Dr. Fuller and his staff had such a calmness about them. They were extremely thorough and made my kitty (who normally is very vocal about his dislike in veterinary facilities) seem much calmer. Not at all like he has been at other facilities (where they had to medicate him in order to treat him). Amazing! I felt very calm too and maybe my kitty sensed that. They asked many questions. Cats Only Veterinary Hospital is wonderful.  The Vet, Dr. Fuller,  and his staff are so very caring .
