This is long overdue, I cannot recommend this team enough. My neighbor suggested I see Dr. Henke and team after a nightmare of a situation at another clinic. My dog Napoleon is now 13.5 years old and I would not trust his health with any other doctor and nurse team. It is the first time EVER, he does not get scared to death before walking in. The staff always remember him, no matter how much time has passed since the last visit. I work 60-80 hours a week, and have to change my appointments often, which I personally hate doing. Called Palmetto when I thought my Corgi had heat stroke, Dr. Henke said bring him in immediately. Within minutes he discovered a snake bite on his snout. Stablized him and call Animal hospital to arrange for treatment immediately. The staff and Dr. Henke were great and responsive to emergency care. Ttucker is stable after receiving antivenom and meds. If I could give more than five stars, I would give Palmetto Vet a thousand!!. After moving to Mt P I went to a few other Vets and was nothing but frustrated and ripped off of tons of money. Dr Henke listens, has amazing compassion and actually was able to fix my dogs health issues. The other Vets in the past just gave me medicines that didn't work, which I now think was a way for them to have me constantly return so they could get more money out of me. The staff at Palmetto vet are amazing. The girls at the front desk are so friendly and helpful, despite seeing and talking with many people all day, they always remember you and greet you like an old friend. Laura, Dr Henke's vet tech is the best. She has a kind, loving manner with the pets and she is super smart. She's able to answer any question you may have. We have used two other vets in Mt Pleasant before finding Dr Craig Henke at Palmetto Veterinary Hospital. We have a Golden Retriever & English Bulldog both who have skin issues. Finally we have found a vet who knows how to diagnose their issues. The care & service we have received from Dr Henke & his team has been exceptional. If you are new to Mount Pleasant like we were 4 years ago don't waste your time like we did trying other vets and go straight to Palmetto Veterinary Hospital. Craig is a man of strong values, faith & truly cares about his clients and their four legged family members. We rarely post reviews on Yelp, but in this case we believe the exception is justified. Unprofessional in all aspects. Always trying to tackle on extra charges for everything. I moved to FL and they would not even transfer my prescription for flea medication to my cat. Rude and incompetant. SC at its finest. Dr Henke can take that lame class ring and you know what with it. Go ahead and try to be like big pharma by not allowing prescriptions to transfer.....despicable. I feel bad for the girls who work for him and have to tell customers this. Read Less

I started going to Dr. Hinke with my lab over 10 years ago and then my new pit bull puppy starting over a year ago. The entire office has always taken the best care of my fur babies. We've recently moved to California and already miss the Palmetto Vet Hospital. PS... Cozmo's teeth cleaning breathed new life into the big guy. He bounces around like a puppy again. Read Less

The entire staff in this office is incredible. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, loving and clean. The doctors and staff are supremely knowledgeable and helpful leading you to make the best choices for your pet. Dr. Henke has been so kind and thorough with my pets. We had to put our family pet of 12 years to sleep and he came to our house and treated our pet with kindness and respect. He realizes how important pets are and that they are an extension in many families. I could not ask for a better person to take care of my pets than Dr. Henke and the entire staff is loving and caring and you feel it the minute you walk through their door. I have been going to Dr. Jay for some time now and enjoy their top of the line facility as well as the friendly staff and service. We took our dog in when she was on death's bed, not having any idea what was wrong. Dr. Jay figured out she had ingested rat poison and saved her life. This used to be a great vet, but not anymore! They were more concerned with leaving at 5:00 on a Friday, than helping my cat. My appointment was at 3:45, but didn't get to him until 4:30. My cat was unhappy and a little combative, so they did not want to do anything with him. They said to take him to an emergency clinic over the weekend. This might be a great place for dogs, but take my advice and take your cats elsewhere. Read Less
