I moved to North Augusta with my 2 cats last year and found the best place to take them thanks to Facebook. I took my youngest (at the time) to get spayed there and they took such good care of her and really made this nervous cat momma feel more at ease. I love that they called me after her surgery to let me know she was ok and were just so sweet to her. Even recently with our newest addition (that was dropped off there when we took our oldest cat to get checked up) they have been nothing but wonderful and helpful with making sure he is ok and has everything he needs. Our family dog was hit by a vehicle yesterday & passed quickly... we were in the middle of relocating to TN & we were leaving today with the uhaul but we wanted to have her cremated... we brought her there & they were able to have her back to us in 24 hours!! I always have taken my animals to the North Augusta Animal Hospital. This week I took my, not so domesticated cat, in to get her spayed. It took me about a year to get this cat to trust me. Dr. Jamie and her staff were so wonderful with her and despite all of her resistance, they treated her with love and compassion. When my puppy was injured and in a coma, I wanted to give her the chance to live. Even though they did warn me that it was possible my baby girl wouldn't recover, they didn't treat me like I was insane for wanting to try (like the first vet I took her to). Each morning that week I took her in for fluids and such. She spent a lot of her time at the front desk in laps and arms. Being supportive and loving on her while there meant everything. These are the type of people you want looking after your fur baby. Unfortunately, our "Frankie" passed away. But, them being there and the amazing amount of love and patience was astounding. When my German Shepherd, Stormy, seriously injured her paw I really thought she would have to have it amputated but Dr Jamie and her amazing staff went above and beyond to help us. I want to thank everyone at North Augusta Animal Hospital for taking such awesome care of my feline boy, Solomon. Dr. Jamie laid him to rest yesterday with the utmost compassion and dignity. And Dr. Mike took wonderful care of him when we moved here from NC and Solomon was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. Two great vets in this practice. A very special thanks to Tonya. I gave it one star because I had to. This veterinarian was the most inconsiderate and money hungry I have ever seen . The first question he asked me was "how deep is your pockets?" He automatically assumed my 9 year old pit was neglected. Anyone who knows my family could tell you my dogs are fed top dollar food, and are never left out at night. This vet it seems was only interested in making a dollar. Before he even assessed or got blood work back he was talking about putting my dog to sleep. Unfortunately, I had no other options as my dog's condition was worsening I guess because that is what I was told. I wish I didn't have to put $300 upfront for him to tell me he was dying. I already could see that but was hoping that wasn't the case. I would not recommend anyone to him ever. Read Less

I have taken several animals here in bad shape. I had a cat who had kittens and one was stuck inside for nearly a week before I realized what was happening. I found my cat about in shock with low temp and almost dead and I rushed her to North Augusta Animal Hospital. She was so bad they recommended putting her to sleep but I wanted to give her a chance. They operated and removed the kitten and her female organs which were literally starting to rot. Within two days my cat was purring and back home again. She totally recouperated. He's an old school vet. He's quiet and can seem unfriendly (although I don't think he means to be unfriendly). He really believes less is better. He will do the minimun treatment on your animal. This isn't always the best treatment but it is idea for someone who can't afford hundreds of dollars. I have been going to him for years and he saved the life of one my dogs. If I had went to another vet I would of probably had to put my dog down (I couldn't afford the test). Dr. Proctor treated my dog without the test. If I wasn't satisfied with his diagnosis I wouldn't think twice about getting a second opinion but you can't beat his price and he's a great person to see first when watching your money. I found them out of a need for less expensive vet care. I have three dogs and three cats and want them all to be healthy, but vet costs were just to much. I also have a daucshund that has back issues and I was afraid I would have to put him down because I could not afford the care needed. The two vets at this hospital, CARE about the ANIMALS!!!! That is a rare thing these days in vets. Thier costs are affordable and they have compasion. The office staff has compasion as well. Read Less
