Let's just say I will never bring my pet there again I brought my 7 month old Cat in for a front declaw on Friday pick him up by noon Saturday 2 Days Later his Paw was so swollen he had a hundred and four degree temperature he could not stand, he could not walk, we had to carry him to the litter box, bring his food and water to him. I took him to another veterinarian clinic which they gave him antibiotics and pain meds. They cleaned out the pus in his Paw and once the veterinarian did that, she showed me where the gaping holes where his claws used to be. if it had not been for me taking him to that veterinarian that morning he would have died. he would have been poisoned in his body by the infection I will never bring my pets to these people again! On Saturday my dog had been up for 3 nights throwing up and with diarrhea. I had no choice but to bring her here because other vet offices were booked. So I got there at 11:00 and the lady behind the desk told me to see the vet. So I signed the clipboard to see the vet. It was extremely crowded and on top of that another dog bit my dogs face as we were walking in. Anyways we went to sit outside because it was extremely crowded nowhere to sit or stand. Waiting 3 1/2 hours befo...re even getting seen and then was told I couldn’t see the vet. Which was fine with me, I just wish I didn’t wait that long and then get told I couldn’t see her. Anywho my girl was very skittish going in there because of the dog biting her when we first got there. So the vet tech was kind enough to put us in a room where she was more comfortable & they did everything they had to do in the room. I didn’t get out of there until 3:30. But everything was worth it because she felt 100% better the next day!!! I am so happy because I needed the rest from her not sleeping the past couple of nights. The were very gentle with her even though she was super skittish. She had been through a lot this week with heartworm treatment and then all the shots she got from there. Overall my experience was good, I expected to wait awhile considering this is one of the only walk in clinics around. The only issue I had was the dog biting my dogs face but the clinic itself can’t be blamed for that. I recommend to anybody who really needs to be seen and has the whole day cut out to wait.😁 See More Read Less

If you consider Low Country Pet Wellness, you need to understand you are sacrificing time and convenience for big savings. If you want a quite waiting room, attentive staff and to be with your pet through the exam process...Do Not Choose This Place...but if you don't mind a line and sitting with 40 dogs and cats in the waiting room...if you appreciate good inexpensive animal care...I recommend Low Country Pet Wellness. More affordable than anywhere else, plus they do care. My dog had her teeth cleaned here. I was so nervous because you have to give them approval on how many teeth they can take if your dog has rotten teeth that need pulled. So basically pick a number of how much you can afford all, or a few. I was worried they would pull teeth just for the money. I know that sounds bad, but I was assured they would give me the teeth they pulled, so I could see the decay. In the end I gave them approval for up to 500.00 in extractions and luckily my dog needed NONE as I had taken care of her teeth for the last 10 years. This was her first cleaning and her teeth look so great!!! They also gave her a gum treatment, which helps healing and blood work before anesthesia. It was a nice feeling to know she is a health dog and now has clean teeth. Thank you. Read Less

I gave them a 2 star only because they did a great job with my kittens declawing and spay, she is happy, healthy and looks normal not buthered, no serious complications, however...The instructions you are sent home with says if you follow them but something still happens to the surgery areas, they will take care of it free of charge. That is not the case, my Sophia had her cone on at ALL times, it was very stressful for her and I but I followed every instruction of care given and when I took her in for her 7 day check up, they claimed her paws and incision were infected and said it was due to licking...well she had her cone on so not sure how that could of been the cause! I had to pay 35.00 for a shot, at this point I thought ok, is what it is as I want her well IF she even had an infection as nothing looked wrong to me and I have had several cats declawed and spayed. 2nd visit, 14 days after surgery...I had to leave town due to my son graduating from the Air Force so I paid a friend to take her, I told her to keep me posted...she text me that she had an ear infection and needed another 35.00 shot, also gave her Zymox. I explained that I have Zymox at the house (she stepped outside to call me as it was to noicey inside) when she went back in to tell them, they were rude and pointed to the sign that says no returns on meds. Ok...well maybe under certain circumstances I can understand this but she clearly stepped out to call me, the box was still sealed and so was the Zymox (25.00) they refused to take it back and refund money even if it was in her possession 5 min. Also, when I was scheduling the surgery, i asked if they sold yesterdays news, the lady said yes, at a much lower price...so i got some (each visit) 5lb bag for 10.00, I should of researched this myself but shame on me for assuming i wasnt being conned just to buy theirs (I found a 30lb bag same brand for 15.00!) Then to top it all off, when I emailed them my thoughts of feeling conned, mislead, lied to...I was told I brought my Sophia in to her check ups WITHOUT her cone on and thats why I had to pay extra for any treatments! I assure you she had her cone on then and for everyday since her surgery! I was also told that her ear infection didnt come from and complications...really? She obviously couldnt clean her ears due to the cone which by my calculations stems from the surgery and healing process...again...I FOLLOWED ALL DIRECTIONS and supposedly she still got an ear infection, paw infection and incision infection. Wont go back, its beyond the money part of it even tho thats a huge part to me, its now being called a liar and basically saying lump it, we are in control. Maybe they are just fine when it comes to small things like vaccines ect. but people wanting to go here for surgerys...beware of all the extra costs after surgery, they will figure out a way to get more from you claiming you neglected your pet during the healing phase and didnt follow their care instructions regardless if you did. On the last day of January this year, our dear collie/shep rescue pup had to be put down, due to old age and infirmity. She had many problems, and was rather unsightly at the end. I cannot say enough about the kindness and genuine love for my pup that I experienced here at the clinic. At the worst time of my life, the vet techs April and Dixie walked me through everything, explaining every detail and answering every question. Dr. Calley and the techs let me hold her and sat with me on the floor, encouraging me to do and say whatever I felt was best for my sweet baby. I will never forget how their tender care made such a difficult decision be so peaceful and good. This clinic, Dr. Calley, and all her staff are true professionals, and their obvious love for their patients and their humans is very clear. Thank you all for the gift you gave to me and our pup Furgie. I will never, ever forget your tender care. Thank you. Thank you.Read Less

This is a simple clinic that is set up as a first come first serve basis. Makes sense when it comes to how they charge. It's VERY reasonable. I suggest you come early and/or prepare to wait to be seen. I brought in my two dogs yesterday for some annual vaccines only. My older dog has been having some skin issues, so they checked her out for that and did some thyroid testing as well. First, I would like to add that I can be difficult when it comes to accepting medications for both myself and my animals as I prefer natural remedies. The staff was understanding to that and explained what she needed and why. Second, the visit only cost $210!!! This was for Rabies and Bordetella for two dogs, then a thyroid panel, thyroid meds for 2 months, skin test, meds and shampoo to treat the skin infection. Can not beat the price and customer service for what this clinic is.Read Less

I suggest arriving early if possible. I arrived at around 0800 and after checking in left at 0830. The check in process was pretty quick, my yorkie was there for dental work/cleaning. Most pet owners were there for neuter or spaying services. I did find it odd how they discussed treatment options with pet owners. Literally we are all sitting in a large room and the vet technician picks up dog and feels for its testicles and tells owner whether it would be a 50$ charge or a $200 charge, lets just say MOST owners were looking at a $200 charge and were completely shocked. I felt kind of bad for them but hopefully they prepared for the worse. Might've been nice to do this "intake" process in one of the rooms but that's just MY opinion. Anywho, the check in process was a breeze, the lady asked about teeth removal, aftercare and whatnot just to get an idea of what I wanted to pay, I already knew my yorkie needed extensive work so I knew it be a little spendy but hopefully much less than the 600$ I was quoted at a local vet. Now lets fast forward to picking up Riley (yorkie). Pick up is between 1730 & 1800. The wait was a little longer than check in but no worries. The vet technician takes me in one of the rooms to discuss the dental procedure. What I liked the most is they show before and after photos of teeth which was awesome! They also give you an aftercare sheet and meds and discuss the cost. My bill ended up being 345$ which isn't horrible considering his teeth were horrid and they had to remove 10 :-(. I go pay and everything and then my dog comes out and his feet are soaked. I'm thinking maybe its water and I smell him and it is URINE. I understand that they are stored in kennels probably and have accidents but to pick up my dog in a condition like that was a huge disappointment for me and that alone will deter me from choosing this facility again.Read Less

I have to add something to this review. I just read some of the negative reviews. I'm not a mean person at all but some of these reviews are absolutely crazy!!! I have been to many different vets over the years and Dr Calley's office is the best priced office and most affordable place I have seen. She also has certain times she can see your pets. You have to understand that Dr Calley and her employees have families too and they would like to be able to see them. If they allow people to come in past the hours stated on the website they would never get home. So I have been working here at Lowcountry Pet Wellness for close to 2 years now just want to say how great place it is to be apart of. My boss, the one and Dr. Hille, and all of my co-workers are amazing people. I love going to work when we're open! It may get a bit crazy sometimes but that's apart of what we do. We love animals and have a big place in our hearts for them. We do the best we can with what we're presented with. There may not be a restroom but there are places in the shopping center that do have them. I personally have held or watched a pet so that people could go to a nearby store to use the restroom. We may be limited in what we offer but we give your pets the best we got. If you take the time you spend waiting to read the cute post on the chalkboard portion of the wall you'll understand that every pet that we techs take back does see the veterinarian. Things work much quicker and more smoothly this way. I hope everyone who has been here has enjoyed their experience given whatever circumstances brought them in. I cannot express enough how blessed I feel to be an employee here.Read Less

I'm not sure what the negative reviews are about but anyone that goes here knows to expect a wait. It's the same thing when you want to be seen at any health clinic. My pet was seen by LCPW a year ago and was treated properly and it was very affordable. In fact, my pet ended up having more severe problems (rescue animal) that required more services than are offered here so I had to take him in to Banfield. While I was there, they re-tested him for the original conditions he was treated for at LCPW (they insisted and I was already distraught over his health) and lo and behold, the results came back the same. I brought in all of his meds that LCPW prescribed and Banfield's vet gave them the thumbs up. I regret having ever questioned LCPW's competency because I could have saved lots of money by not having the tests re-done. Unfortunately, my dog is not with me anymore, he just had too many health issues from not being properly cared for at the pound. I will be bringing my cat here from now though. I do not work for LCPW and you're welcome to message me with any questions you have. Be prepared for a wait but it's worth it for the quality, affordable care you receive.Read Less

I have been to many different vets over the years and Dr Calley's office is the best priced office and most affordable place I have seen. She also has certain times she can see your pets. You have to understand that Dr Calley and her employees have families too and they would like to be able to see them.
