We have been going to Hilton Head Veterinary Clinic in Bluffton since we got our puppy 2 years ago and they were great. Unfortunately the service level is going downhill...and quickly. First, I had to call back 6 different times because their phone just rang and rang with no answer or voicemail. I actually thought they closed down after 2 days of trying. When I finally got through by having the HHI office transfer me, the person could not find our family in the computer...again....been going there for 2 years. Booked an appointment after 15 minutes on the phone. When I FINALLY took her for the appointment today, they returned with my dog after 10 minutes and said they couldn't clip her nails because she 'didn't like it". I honestly thought they were joking. I even asked them if they were....they weren't. I was SHOCKED. I understand that some dogs are difficult when clipping nails. Our last dog got vicious. This is NOT the case with our Lab...and even if it were, I would expect my vet to be able to handle the situation. I left VERY ANNOYED AND INCONVENIENCED and called my dog boarder at the Bark Shack and asked if they could clip her nails. They said sure...bring her over! So, with no appointment at all, I drove to the Bark Shack and they promptly clipped her nails in 5 minutes and we were on our way....and for half the price! When I asked if she was difficult, the groomer said no, she's just a big baby and laughed! Sorry, but if my vet can't clip my dog's nails and needs a 2 day advance notice to even try, this won't work for me at all. Leaving this vet and finding a new one! Read Less

If there were no stars, they would not have any. I had been taking my 2 dogs to the doctors there for 3+ years. One of dogs has a concurrent skin issue. On the last visit there, I had left the 2 dogs for boarding for 10+ days durning the Christmas holiday. I had given detailed instructions written and verbal for feeding. 7 days into the boarding, I received a phone call stating one dog had run out of dog food. How could this be?? There was plenty of supplies left for there stay. On my return, my dogs were not properly cared for, over fed, and skin allergies were much worse. After bringing these issues up to one of the doctors, he dismissed my concerns. His response to me was "we are the cheapest in the area and we are not a normal boarding facility that provides lavish care." What does this mean? This is my dogs vet, and told me they basically do the minimum care needed. Never will I take my dogs back to seek care or boarding. I would not recommend to anyone. No star rating for me. Read Less

I'm visiting my parents down here and of course I brought my dog. She ended up getting pink eye so I took her here. As a visitor walk-in they were very friendly and accommodating and took care of my baby as soon as they had an opening. Dr. Dixon and his staff are great. He gave me a prognosis on my dog's condition and a couple options to choose from so I could make an informed choice. This meant a lot to me and showed me really cared instead of just telling me what he will do, he gave me options. Read Less
