The office staff was very nice. The veterinarian Dr. Katta could use some work on his active listening skills. I had to repeat myself multiple times. My biggest issue with this place was the pricing. I'd be willing to bet that you could go to any other vet in Rock Hill and pay significantly less. Our regular vet is about half the cost. Our issue occurred on a Sunday and this place was the only place open....so it was what it was. The emergency vet in Ft. Mill or Charlotte may have been cheaper. We only had an exam, standard labs, and medicine, nothing justifying the high costs of services. If you're looking for a regular veterinarian, definitely go elsewhere! Read Less

I have been taking my pet here for years, but since my last visit, I have been so frustrated that I find myself looking for a new vet. Issues are too much to go into here, but because I have recently been informed my pet has both liver and kidney issues and will be required to take medication, therefore will probably need more visits, it is time to move on. This is a great example of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing, and with my dog now having some health concerns, I need to be confident that not only the physician, but also their staff are doing what is best for my dog. If you don't mind dropping your pet off and your pet does not have health concerns, this will probably be ok for you, no longer works for me though. Read Less

Our cat had a stroke in their care, no one noticed, or even mentioned it. They always push for drop off appointments, and our cat is pretty high strung. We had a four month old at home so thought it would be okay. They called us to ask if they could sedate our cat because they couldn't examine him. We picked him up and they said all was well. Our cat was disoriented for days, vomited. He lost 80% of his body weight and is now deaf. When we took him in, they said "we don't see anything wrong." I will never trust them with another pet. Sure they have great hours, but that's about all they have. Extremely sad and disappointed. Read Less

I was scheduled a 3:15 appointment on Sunday 2/21/16. They did note that I was double booked and it could be possible that I get charged $50 for after hours care. I thought about this and said "ok" even though that it seemed unlikely since all my dog had was a damaged toenail. Unfortunately I sat there till 4:30 till we were seen. It took them about 45min for the procedure to remove the nail and have him back to me. I was still charged the $50 because they went past 5pm. This is ridiculous and it is safe to say I will not be going back to a Banfield. $450 to remove a toenail. I was charged 450 twice as well!! Another issue I get to deal with, thanks Banfield. I am so OVER this place! I have 3 animals and have taken my pets to other locations in the past but this one has just ruined my experience! The person that answers the phone thought he had the knowledge and expertise to tell me that it was okay that I start giving steroids to my pet again; however, when I came back in to speak to the ACTUAL DOCTOR, she said that he was completely in the wrong and that it was not a good idea to do that. Steroids are not something to just mess around with. I took my cat there to be "put down" and they did not explain the process that well to me. I was sitting in the room consoling my cat because I thought she was about to die at any moment but they came back into the room to "handle that". I call them for a question and they claim that they will call me back but they don't so I have to call SEVERAL times to get my question answered. Last but not least, the nurse was very rude to me IN PERSON during an appointment AND over the phone (bc yes, go figure, I had to call AGAIN bc they do not do their job). She interrupted me and was very unprofessional. I cannot wait to cancel my pet insurance and find a new vet! Read Less

I have a 7 year old female lab mix.  She began vomiting, not eating and later the same day not drinking.  The next day we got her to eat and drink.  She was more herself.  On the third day she had reverted back to vomiting, not eating, not drinking much and there was a small amount of blood in her vomit.  With her regular vet being closed I took her to Banfield in Rock Hill, SC.  The lady at the front desk was very nice as was the vet tech.  The vet came in and immediately I did not like her.  She was making assumptions about the care that I provided my dog.  When I tried to talk to her I felt as though she was not listening to me.The vet had blood drawn to run a test.  They did such a poor job.  I have never seen my dog SOAK a gauze after having blood drawn. The Vet then told me my dog had pancreatitis and needed to be taken to a hospital and put on an IV.  It did not seem like she was very confident in her diagnosis - it was more like that was the closest thing she could find in the book. The tech seemed better able to explain the test result and more willing to talk and listen than the actual vet.  The vet then prescribed several medications and prescription food - which she would need to be on the rest of her life.We took our dog home without the medication or food.  We were feeding her plain white rice and giving her unflavored water with electrolytes.  All the while doubting our decision to bring her home.  She stopped vomiting and perked up.  Playing with toys and running around a little with her sister. The next morning she woke up at 4:30.  She spit up a little clear liquid.  Then she was very slow to move around and did not want to eat or drink.  We decided to take her to the animal hospital in Columbia, SC.  They ran all of the tests on her and came back with no evidence of pancreatitis.  They gave her an injection for the vomiting.  Told us to keep her on the rice and add chicken.  Incorporate her regular food (which is Science Diet - not some cheap full of filler food) slowly.  And keep giving her the water with electrolytes.By that afternoon our beautiful girl was up and running around.  She hasn't vomited since before we took her to the second vet.  No blood.  No diarrhea.  Nothing.I will never go back to Banfield again.  That is my personal preference. Took my 9-lb dog because he was vomiting and in pain when you touched his back... Vet gave me 4 different medications and was told if he feels better you don't have to come back. If he doesn't then come back for follow up... I wasn't convinced that the Banfield vet knew what was wrong and didn't seem confident. Kept saying I don't know so I took my dog, all his medicine and went to a vet recommended by several people. Well other vet, NOT Banfield, told me, "Wow, they gave him all these antibiotics? It's because she didn't know what was wrong with him and one of these would knock out whatever he had."He also proceeded to tell me how Banfield rips people off on the wellness plan. If you value your pet's life, DON'T take them to Banfield. I was even told by a PetSmart employee NOT to go to Banfield. Even he/she doesn't trust them. I now take my pet to another trusted vet and it does NOT cost that much. Banfield just raises their prices up drastically to make you think you're getting a discount and you're not. PLEASE do your research and do not go to Banfield. So after I cancelled my plan with Banfield, they send me a $200 collection letter to which they say it was for services that the plan covered for the year even though my pet no longer was on the plan but supposedly even after I canceled and we never went. Somehow they say the vets still provided for my pet? Really? I will never ever take a loved pet to Banfield. They don't care about your pet. They care about how much money they can make off you. Read Less

I've been taking my Diesel here since I got him @ 6 weeks old. He is a Blue Pitbull and we haven't had any negative feelings or actions toward him. I haven't had any problems from any employees here. Everyone is helpful and friendly. He was neutered and microchipped yesterday and the cost was actually cheaper than what I was informed that morning. They check up on him to make sure he is ok and comfortable. He is on the higher wellness plan which covers damn near everything. Dr Cooley is our absolute fave! Read Less

We have been with Banfield for a few years and had our dog on the Wellness Plan . I wouldn't take my pet anywhere else. The veterinarians and the whole staff there are outstanding. After our dog passed away in a terrible accident,  they showed us so much compassion.  Now that we are adopting a new puppy,  we will be going back to Banfield and getting our puppy on the Wellness Plan which is the best plan to go on in order to take care of our puppy in the best way possible.

My dog is a rescue and is very anxious about having his nails trimmed. They swore they could do it, no problem. They had 3 people holding him and he was so distressed he defecated and urinated on them. That is a problem in my mind. They said it would cost me over $200 next time. I assume they wanted to sedate him. My groomer trims his nails with no trauma so I don't know why they couldn't handle him. I don't feel I can trust them for my veterinary needs--we go to Ebenezer Animal Hospital in Rock Hill. Read Less
