We have used them for all our pets - we've had five animals spayed there, and four put down. We adored Dr. P and Dr. Davis. While the care was great for a long time, service at Flowertown has steadily declined and today was our last visit, and it broke my heart. There was a misunderstanding and I had a confrontation with one of the office managers. The staff were abusive to me, and I ended up leaving without treatment for my dog, the vet saying," If you don't like what I'm telling you, then leave." Neither Dr. P or Dr. D were there that day, so I think if they had, it would have been resolved differently. I like Dr. Davis and I hope he has some awareness of what's happening in his clinic when he's not there. Now I have a sick dog and have no idea where to take her. Read Less

Friendly and helpful staff were extremely tolerant of my not so happy cat.  The facility is clean and smells great.  Willing to take the time to explain what they are doing and how they are going to do it -- very reassuring.  Prices are reasonable and they are open until Midnight Monday through Saturday.  There's no pleasing my cat but, I am very happy. We recently transferred our 3 dogs over from an old Vet we used in Ladson. Our Yellow Lab mix had some skin allergies for a long time. They diagnosed him correctly and he is a puppy again. They engaged with the dogs and their exams were very easy and nonstressful for the gogs. Definitely a Great Vet practice. Read Less

We have had the misfortune of having both dogs get sick or hurt in the last 3 weeks. The first Friday three weeks ago we took the dog into Flowertown at 10:45 pm. The care and compassion of Dr Nathan and the entire staff was. Just incredible. Being there that late at night you figure everyone is tired and maybe you should wait to morning NOT THE CASE. Sulley was taken care of expediently and with such care we can’t thank Dr Nathan and the staff enough. A week later Rascal had a horrible hot spot on his tail that was bleeding quite a bit. Once the call and we were given an appointment that same day. Dr Nathan Gain took care of Rascal and has seen him again for follow up.thankfully everything is coming along fine. There are not enough good words to describe our families appreciation and admiration for the tremendous job being done at Flowertown. No matter which of the 4 vets you see it’s a home run. Once again Flowertown animal hospital showed why it’s such an outstanding and trusting Veterinary clinic. Sulley hurt himself quickly rising to investigate a car moving by. He suffered an in jury to his left front leg. Flowetown saw him on a Friday night at 10:00PM. The doctor gave him a thorough going over and answered every question my daughter had of him never once trying to leave with unfinished business. It is very comforting knowing that Dr Davis and his fellow vets are so caring for each and every animal that comes through the door. They are so caring and gentle with our two cats. The place is so nice and clean and smells great! Our old vet on Trolley was dingy and it smelled like pee. Their place is open and airy and everyone from the front desk people to the vet are just awesome! They take their time with you, answering any and all questions. Our cats love going there...if you can believe that. One of them jumped right up on the exam table and laid herself out. The other was nervous but she let them pick her up which is a feat in itself. DO NOT USE THIS CLINIC! When you take an x-ray of the neck down for a suspected jaw fracture just to up charge...I have a huge issue. When I questioned the vet, because I work in the animal industry and I'm not a complete idiot, he gave me a lame excuse that he thought someone who didn't know about animals would accept. I have no issues with paying for my baby's health, but don't charge me at check out for items and stuff I was told I would not be charged for! They are in it for the money more than the animals since the business was sold. I will never take my animals there again nor will I ever recommend them to anyone!! Read Less

A nice location tucked away neatly. Friendly staff. Had to bring my puppy in on an emergency after my normal vets hours and was pleasantly surprised by the staff's eagerness to help despite it being 9 or 10 at night. They’re awesome. From the level of care Sugar received as she passed to them being on their toes waiting on us to get there with Rodeo(she was having a severe medical emergency and we were coming from Saint George)who was DOA but they still took her, cleaned her up and prepped her for the funeral home for us. You can’t get better care than that. The staff is amazing. Couldn’t ask for better. After getting to work I received a panicked phone call from my girlfriend. She informed me that our dog peanut couldn't walk and was falling over and crying and not able to breathe. I immediately got off the phone with her and search for one of the Emergency Animal Hospitals. Google hooked me up with flowertown animal hospital and I'm glad that Google referred me. When I made the phone call to flowertown Animal Hospital I was greeted with a warm and Urgent welcome and also a ...great care to bring peanut in the cost was only $60 to get her in I flew in my car to get there and also told my girlfriend to get there as soon as possible. Once I arrived they had already taken peanut back because my girlfriend beat me there to it. Flowertown Animal Hospital went above and beyond to take care of peanut they made several phone calls after peanut was well and back home just to make sure she was okay. If you're wondering peanut suffered from preeclampsia which is a condition that some mothers get when puppies nurse and deplete the calcium levels in the body. All of the staff and the veterinary doctors for very informative and very helpful throughout the entire process I have never been more pleased with the service that was provided from flowertown Animal Hospital. My lab, Belle, was experiencing some pain and we had no idea what was going on. Numerous thoughts were going through my head as to what could be wrong. Robin was amazing calming me down and advised me to bring her to Flowertown. I’m glad I did. The entire staff was welcoming and extremely nice from start to finish. We have been going to this Veterinarian office since we got our cat. Dr. Dorsam was fantastic with Bell. Since Dr. Davis has taken over we have continued to receive the same level of care. One of my pets was a patient here until today. We use another clinic for 2 of my pets but started here with the 3rd because CAS recommended them. Well, we had an emergency situation this afternoon, and after waiting over an hour for a tech to call me back, was told we could be seen tomorrow late afternoon or Friday but that it was urgent he be seen (possible poisoning). When I asked why he couldn't be seen today if they were so concerned, I was told he could be but we woul...d have to pay a $60 "work in" fee, or for an emergency appointment if after 5. What?! I have experience both as a client and as an employee of veterinary hospitals and have NEVER experienced that level of blatant disregard for an animal. Wow. Yesterday I found my Crested Gecko with some sort of prolapse. I panicked and searched for a vet. The exotic clinics in the area were either out for the day or they were closing. I came to Flowertown hoping for a miracle. Luckily, that is exactly what I found! Dr. Matthew Nathan was able to consult with specialists and perform a surgery even though he does not particularly specialize in reptiles. My gecko is healthy and I am happy. The most amazing place to take your pet. The people who work in the office really get to know you and your pet and they truly care about your pets well being not just money. I would never take my pets somewhere else. The first time I went I thought my cat Rocky was going to die he was so sick but everyone did everything in their power to get him better and they saved his life and now I take his daughter Roxy as well she is just starting to go for her booster shots and you can tell everyone already loves her. There are lots of vets out there but I encourage you to make Flowertown Animal Hospital the place to go for your pet's healthcare needs. My cat Farrah can be pretty difficult to deal with. Dr. Davis did a great job combining compassion and medical expertise in giving Farrah a check up. These guys are knowledgeable, they don't try selling you mess your pet doesn't need, and my biggest take away is that they truly care about their furry patients. Flower Town animal hospital is excellent! I adopted a kitten and did not realize that he was sick at the time. I took him to Flower Town to see what was wrong with Henry. It turned out that he was extremely sick, dehydrated and had a bacterial infection in his lungs. From the front office staff and the technician Kelly to the vet they gave him wonderful care and they were very gentle. Henry needed two rounds of anabiotic's and now he is healthy. We've been going to Flowertown since 2005. LOVED Dr. Dorsam and was sad when he retired. Dr. Davis has stepped right in and been awesome! He has seen us through the passing of our old guy, and today was on the floor with our new pups playing and then they both snuggled right into him and fell asleep. They are the most compassionate staff! We started taking our lab here in January. Finding out she had a mass on her spleen wasn't easy but the care and support they showed us was incomparable to any other. We just recently made the decision to euthanize our dog and they were so kind to call the next day and leave a message of condolences and comfort through the situation. Dr. Davis is amazing!!! I've had experience with cattle, horses, poultry and household pets. He is by far the best that I've ever seen. I can tell that he cares about the animals and he is invested in their health. He is also personable with the owners of the pet and explains everything. I've seen vets that want to do the most they can to get as much money as they can, he is not one of those.  I called the office after hours on a Friday to try to get my dog in early in the week and he called me back at 9:30pm to ask about what was going on and get my dog in first appointment Monday. We brought our cat in because she was acting lethargic and was not eating. Dr. Dorsam, diagnosed Kit Kat and cancelled all of his afternoon appointments so that he could do emergency surgery on her that saved her life. Great staff called the next day to make sure that we came back in so that Dr. Dorsam could check that Kit Kat was OK after her surgery. They earned our business and the business of our other 3 animals, we won't be taking our animals anywhere else. If you want a veterinarian who doesn't care about your pets and only your money, Dr. Dorsam is your man! We are only there because we really liked the last vet there. We brought in our 14 year old shar pei, and Dr. Dorsam insisted she needed to have her teeth cleaned, and needed to go under anesthesia to do so. Long story short, because he wanted money is HIS pocket, and our older dog had a reaction with the anesthesia, he ended up KILLING our dog for something she didn't need at such an old age. There's been countless other times he's been a complete sketch ball. He just wants your money. Were looking for another vet, cause we've given him plenty of opportunities to not have his hand in our pocket, but instead do the RIGHT thing, and unfortunately it's backfired on us each time. Wow, I am surprised at some of these negative reviews! My family has been going to Dr. Dorsam at Flowertown for quite a number of years now and he is the only vet that 1) does payment plans, and 2) is genuinely interested in helping your pet without trying to break the bank. He also listens very well and will spend extra time with you if you have any questions. Dr. Dorsam loves your pet(s) as if it were his own.Please note that Flowertown is NOT an emergency vet! If you are having an emergency, you should go to an emergency vet! If you break your arm, you do not go to your family doctor -- you go straight to the emergency room where they have the proper equipment to X-ray the arm, do MRIs, CTs, or whatever else. Similarly, if your cat or dog is injured in a bad way, you should go straight to the emergency vet. That is not to say that Dr. Dorsam won't see you pet, but he may not have the equipment to actually do anything for you (I think they might be able to do X-rays, but that's about it).He is a fabulous vet who will do his best to help you. I have not experienced any rudeness from his staff, but if the staff is rude to you, DO NOT let it color your opinion of the vet! More importantly, tell him if you feel his staff was rude to you! He genuinely wants to know and he genuinely wants to help. After having to take my pet to the emergency vet and paymupwards of $2000, Dr. Dorsam gave me samples of some medicine to give my cat so that I would not have to go to the pharmacy and pay for it. They also allowed me to pay my bill at a later date since I was strapped for cash. VERY few vets will do that! If you are skeptical about Flowertown, just take your pet in for a routine check-up. I have taken all of my animals to this vet for years, and recently had an emergency. MyDog was hit by a car and needed to be seen ASAP, when calling first thing I told them my situation and was told that they could "try" to work him in. The lady didn't sound the least bit interested in my horrible situation, and sounded almost annoyed that I wanted I bring him in. Hello, My wife experienced the most un-professional consultation today when coming to make a hard long made decision to euthanize our diabetic cat. The doctor berated my crying wife who was already emotional at facing the loss of a dear family pet who has graced our family for over 10 years. The doctor used profanity and condescendingly accused my wife of having no conscience, to include the unnecessary use of profanity. I took my 6 month old puppy here for the first time today because she'd been vomiting off and on over the past two weeks and had bumps on her sides and under belly. I called as soon as they opened and was in an hour later. They were running about 15 minutes late, but the two women at the front desk were so nice and talked with me about my puppy problems and answered questions I had; they were very friendly, cheerful and helpful. And all of the staff came up to meet my puppy, which she absolutely loves meeting new people.Going into the private exam room, I did not have to wait long for the doctor. She was very nice and listened to all of my concerns. She was very sweet with my dog and answered all of my questions and gave me a remedy. In addition, my puppy had been spayed more than two months ago and the vet that removed the stitches left an inner stitch hanging out of her skin and told me it would dissolve... two months later it was still there, but this doctor clipped it off immediately without me saying anything. I went to Flowertown Animal Hospital up until October of 2008. I had been going there for years and I called because I had an emergency (for the first time ever). My dog was attacked by another dog and I needed her to be seen. She is a min pin and was attacked by a golden retriever (I know that sounds wierd but that is what happened). The dog had bit her around her neck and she was bleeding and acting wierd. Well since no one called me back within 30 minutes of me calling, I went over to the clinic and they said they would not be able to see me today because they were closing soon and had another dog to see before then. So I was frantic at this point and took her to another vet (Oakbrook) and they saw her right away and could not believe that my vet turned me away. They said she was in shock and needed to be watched overnight but took great care of her while they had her. They said there was no reason the doctor shouldn't have stayed a little later and seen her. I ended up taking my dog out of there after that. I would have loved to go to Oakbrook but they are a little more expensive. I am trying out Dr. Nemasket though because I have heard great things about him too.
