DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAT HERE. I took my cat here about 2 weeks ago and left her over night. Yes, she is temperamental but all cats are when you take them to the vet. Not only did they not offer to help at all with putting her back in the carrier, they charged us $50 for sedation. They asked if they could clip her nails and We said yes assuming they would be just a little trimmed. Nope! Completely cut down to the nub. No nails whatsoever. We brought her back home and since she has been home she hasnt left from under the couch, won’t eat, and won’t go anywhere near men. She NEVER acted like this at all in her 12 years. So, we call back a week later and tell them. The lady tells us to bring her back in the morning, and when we get there she tells us there will be a 3-4 hour wait bc she didn’t have an appointment. We explain that SHE is the one who told us to come Back in the morning and they sit there and ignore us. The ONLY lady who was being nice to us even offered another vet clinic Bc she saw how poorly we were being treated. I’m honestly disgusted how they treat animals as well as people. I will NEVER recommend this place to someone as well as never coming back. This place SUCKS AND THEIR PEOPLE DO TOO!!!!!!! Read Less

This is an amazing group of dedicated, knowledgeable (and affordable) veterinarians and staff. We've been to 3 or 4 vets who upcharge or have made mistakes with our pet's medication. Finding Nemasket was a literal life saver! Read Less

Dr. Ford has been treating my 10 year old min schnauzer for about a month. A thorough exam, a diagnosis and a confident treatment plan has my girl on the mend. We have been bringing my pup here since we got him to get his nails trimmed as they were highly recommended for being quick and gentle with pets. Sure they are quick, but the staff seems to think they shouldn't be bothered with questions or really anything at any point. If I'm just letting you know that I'm taking my dog outside so when you're ready we will be right outside the door I don't think that calls for you to be rude and cut me off to tell me I just need to wait. I'd rather take my business somewhere else and pay a little more to get better customer service. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone else. Read Less

The best vet that I have had yet!  They are all amazing, and the staff is great as well!  They always take plenty of time to listen and assess my dogs, and have very reasonable and realistic recommendations. They are very supportive of whatever decision you make regarding your pet's care (of course, I assume within reasonable limits).  Yes, you do have to wait a bit when you go. But that is because they really take their time with you and care about the owners, as well as the pets. We actually ended up here kind of on accident. We lost our dachshund a couple years ago, and when she first started getting sick, our normal vet was not available last-minute. They suggested going to Nemasket, as they are open until 6 and have Saturday hours. The dog lived another year, and we just kept taking her to Nemasket because they were so amazing!  We switched our other dog over, and have brought our new pup here. We have always loved the doctors here but the support staff tends to be somewhat rude and seemingly bothered by questions. Sometimes it takes several minutes to be greeted or checked out at the end of a visit. The office also often feels grimy and unclean. None of this bothered us very much as we liked the doctors and thought we were getting good care. We recently moved and visited a new vet. Their yearly check up included drawing blood to test for heart worms, a stool sample to test for worms and a standard treatment to ensure worms that could go undetected are not present. We were blown away that none of this testing or prevention was done for the last few years we visited Nemasket and cannot believe we had such poor care for our dog.Read Less

We had a situation with our cat. I took her to another local vet who wanted $800- $900 for surgery. I was in tears and so upset when I walked into Dr. Grants office. A great experience from beginning to end. The lady I spoke with to make the appointment was very sweet and I was able to get an appointment for the following day. I waited for 10-15 min and there was only two other dogs in the waiting room. I have never had a dog before so with having a new puppy I had a ton of questions and she patiently answered all of them and was extremely knowledgeable. The nurses were also very friendly; I decided to get my puppy microchipped and she did a great job of keeping him distracted. Then it was time for check out and I was a little nervous; in addition to the doctor visit we also got a round of puppy shots, a rabies shot, heart worm treatment and the microchip. I brought my German Shepherd here and feel in love with the staff and their care for my baby girl. Sadly, I had to recently put my girl down. She had cancer on her heart. They were incredible throughout the whole process. I now have a new puppy German Shepherd and refuse to bring her anwhere else but here. Read Less

Dr. McCullough is incredibly knowledgeable, yet does such a fantastic job communicating concerns about our dog in a language we can understand! I appreciate her honesty and transparency when it comes to choosing which tests or procedures to run and the (sometimes unnecessary) costs involved. Dr. Grant is THE best vet I have EVER been to. Over the years, I've lived in many places and seen many vets, many of them great. However, Dr. Grant  was unbelievably knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate. I recently returned to the Lowcountry after living out of the state for ten years. One of the first things I did after moving back was bring my 14 year old dog back to Dr. Grant. I enjoyed the same great customer service from the office staff that I had remembered from when I lived here before. Dr. Grant was kind and compassionate with my sweet old girl. The best Vet in the area! I have been taking my pets there for over 20 yrs and have always been very pleased. Dr. Grant is fantastic! Within the past couple of years I have also seen Dr. Leeven and have also been very pleased with my experience with her. I have referred friends there and they all have great things to say. As far as the cost, they are probably more reasonable than any other vet in the area. I recently had to have my cat of 17 yrs put to sleep and they were so sympathetic and Dr. Grant did not charge me a dime to do it. Read Less

I have been going to Dr Grant for over 20 years. I even though we moved from Summerville I still drive over an half hour to see them. All the doctors are highly skilled, caring and compasionate. The first time I took my puppy here, I had just moved from out of state where she had been spayed before the move. Now, she needed her stitches out. The staff here had me wait in the lobby while they took her back by herself, which I did not like and had never done before... normally they invite the owner back. And they ended up bringing me back later anyway. She had had two outer stitches, which was not normal and it looked like they had missed one. I kept asking if they had gotten them both and they said yes. I went home and she had a black stitch hanging out still. I took her back the next day and again they took her back by herself. They brought her back and said that it was an inside stitch that would dissolve away. Well, two months passed and it was still there, turning her skin black. I more recently took her to another vet for a normal exam and they saw the stitch without me saying anything and clipped it off immediately, saying it shouldn't be there. I was so annoyed! We have used Nemasket vet clinic for almost 5 years. I had purchased a product of theirs that they were out of stock. I totally forgot about about it. I only take my dog to the vet once a year since he is very healthy. When I asked if I could have the product I purchased or a credit when I went for his annual check up they told me no. How can they just take my money and not give me the product or a credit towards my next visit. Beware and review your bill carefully who knows how else they rip people off! Read Less

I fell this is the best vet in town. All the vets in this office are wonderful. I have never had a bad experience with any of the vets there.
