We moved to Summerville in January 2016 with three senior fur babies. Dr. Benton did not think I was out of control when I took each of their medical records in before they needed anything to establish them as patients. It really did help, however, when Frankie (the white one) had decided it was time to cross the Rainbow Bridge. I could not have asked for a more thorough exam or a more compassionate bunch of people. They knew how much this little guy meant to me. How deeply that bond was between us. As difficult as it was, I left feeling I had done everything I could have done and Frankie did not pass in pain but was held in love and assisted to pass in the most compassionate, painless way possible. In a lighter note, I think Sonny, (the one hiding under the clothes) fakes illnesses just to go in to flirt with the girls. Seriously, God let us to Oakbrook Vet and their staff. I took my service animal in for what I thought was a tick. I could not tell what it was. They fit me in the same morning. A technician came and examined Roxy's leg and said it was a cut or scrape. They were very nice and told me what to do. I read reviews on Yelp and expected good service but a full office visit, etc . . . The staff was gracious and I will definitely return to establish care. They provided exact prices for Roxy's full exam scheduled for next week (excluding any additional services). I was pleased. I appreciate vets who care. Read Less

This has got to be the rudest vet I have ever been to. I can to them with my cat who was just attacked by my neighbors dog. He was dying so I went to overlook because it was right next to my house . They told me I had to leave a deposit or no help. Of course I didn't have money cause it was an emergency. The things this man said to me made me cry. Your cat will probably die anyway. We sent in the business of charity. Then he had the nerve to ask me if I work for free cause he doesn't. I wasn't asking for charity. We have been going to Oakbrook for over two years now ever since we adopted our cat from the Charleston Animal Society. This veterinarian was on the list of places to get your first free check-up and since it was closeby we gave it a try. The doctor and staff are awesome and always helpful. Today's stop was to pick up my dog's monthly flea meds and to get her nails trimmed. The meds were waiting for me when we arrived and it took only a few minutes to do her nails. Read Less

I was new to the area and was using one vet that took repeat visits to treat the same thing. I.didn't think they completely listened to me. I tried Oakbrook(a friends referral). Lucy got to see Dr Benton who ran a heartworm test that came back negative. He was concerned she had a heart problem so he referred me to a specialist who was ready to take her right away. Just because you have a vet close by your residence; it's not always the best one to use. I did this for several years with several different pets. I found Dr. Gamble through a friend at work who raved about him. I went to the Oakbrook Vet Clinic for the first time last year and was truly impressed not only by Dr Gamble but everyone I came in contact with. They were compassionate, friendly and above all knowledgeable. The took care of my dog the way I take care of my dog (like family). The extra time spent explaining everything that was done and why was worth the extra time and miles to visit them. I highly recommend the Oakbrook Veterinary Clinic to anyone that truly cares for their pets and is not just going through the motions of getting their yearly "Stuff" done. I used to live in Oakbrook area and love going to Oakbrook Vet. I always see Dr. Todd he is very calm and friendly to my dog who is always mean and scared at the vet. Dr Todd and his staff always treat us well. The prices are also good. I moved to West Ashley and tried a few diff. vets but haven't found one as great as Oakbrook so now I make the long drive. I have price shopped around a few other times and their flea med prices are cheaper than others. Which w/a 75 lb dog and 2 cats makes a BIG $$ difference. Read Less

Been using Oakbrook Vet Clinic for years and have always gotten in to see Dr Gamble when we needed. The receptionists and vet techs love the dogs and do a great job in keeping them calm and comfortable. Definitely a busy office. Summerville has grown and so therefore pet population has grown so they stay swamped but are always pleasant to work with. I appreciate their ability to work us in when my dog gets her alergy shots.
