The Veterinarian call me today. And told me my dog had a parasite in his stool. He informs me that he was going to give me medicine for the parasite and that there was no charge for this medicine and to come by his office anytime today and pick it up. Well when I get to the office one hour later to pick up the medicine for my dog I was informed the medicine was $66 when I told them that the doctor said there was no charge for the medicine they go behind closed doors talk to somebody not sure who come back 20 minutes later so sorry $66 is the charge. And would not allow me to talk to the doctor that told me over the phone but there was no charge for the medicine. Because of that $66 they have just lost my business. Read Less

I called today, asking for any information I could get to help my dog, Cooper. He has really bad seizures. The place was wonderful the first 3 times going, but they showed their True colors today. My dog can't even keep water down. He wont stop vomiting, shaking, ect. I called them, in fear that hes dying. Well, they put me on hold for 10 minutes after I told them it was a medical emergancy. Once I finally got ahold of a Vet; Dr. Austin I beleive, she informed me that I needed to bring him in. (I would have been there by know If I had the money) I was originally calling for help on how to aid him in this time. Well, she insisted that I found the money to bring him, even though I had explained to her that I only had 16$ in my account until Friday. She then proceeded to pitch me a VetPet Credit card, as it would be the only way for me to get him seen. This place only cares about the damn money, they couldn't care if it was an emergancy or not. This place needs to check its priorities. Read Less

Called to order preventative flea and heart meds for our cat and two dogs, was told they would be ready by the end of the day. I called back a few minutes later to switch the flea and tick medication to another brand that also repels mosquitoes only to find out they don't carry that particular brand, nor any other that deals with mosquitoes. I politely told the receptionist I would grab that brand somewhere else but I still wanted to pickup the other preventative medications, the receptionist then told me to hold only to come back and tell me they couldn't fill the heart worm medications for my cat and two dogs because they are due for an exam. I have been with Westbury's close to 15 years and in the past if our animals were due or over due for their exam they would still get us the medications knowing that when we could afford it our animals would be coming to Westbury's for their medical needs. After today that very much is in jeopardy. Read Less

It was our first visit there today, and I was very impressed (probably the pickiest person when it comes to Physicians). They have a very friendly and knowledgeable staff, especially Dr. Luce. Dr. Luce is just fantastic; she's very thorough. We've been hunting for a new vet for a bit now (have interviewed several). She definitely has our vote, and the dog's vote as well. I didn't experience the financial issue others have expressed; the prices are fair and the level of treatment provided justifies it. Wish I could give it NEGATIVE STARS!We have been taking our dogs there for over 5 years. And Westbury's is not close to our home nor easy on our pocket book. One of my poor dogs is allergic to grass and chews her feet until they bleed, all day, every day. She has been on the same medication for it for 4 years now. We called in a refill, which keeps going up in price... but i digress, last week and they say it will be ready for pick-up the next day as usual. My wife goes out of her way to get the medicine the next day and they only give her a 4 day supply (we have always gotten a 21 day supply). She asked why only 4. They said that's all we can get until we pay to have a yearly exam!!! Why didn't anyone tell us that on the phone the day before? What if we did't have the money for all that within 4 days? Did I mention they are grossly expensive... way more than other vets! They are doing nothing but holding my dog's medicine hostage until I pay up!They could care less if my chihuahua chews her paws off!!! All they care about is $$$MONEY$$$! I clearly see now that they have absolutely NO compassion for animals. They would rather hold my dog's prescription hostage for hopes I fork over $ to them within 4 days, than to just ask me when would be convenient for me to schedule for my dogs annual check-up. Both my dogs are healthy, up to date on all their shots, we paid to have them microchipped, had teeth cleaned, etc.What's the moral of this story? Well I have an appointment for BOTH of my dogs to have an annual exam TOMORROW! Guess where... NOT AT WESTBURY'S!!! I promise that Westbury's will never get another penny from us, and I will gladly pass my 100% honest, first hand experience to anyone with a pet to deter them from that place. I've put up with the rude girls that answer the phones there for way too long anyway, and did I mention the high prices? So Westbury's did me a favor. When you put making money, and trying to back me into a 4 day corner with absolutely no warning or common courtesy, before the wellness of our pets that we think of as our children, then I see the real you, and it is DISGUSTING and you should be ASHAMED! Ever since we adopted our first two kittens we have been taking them to Dr. Turick at Westbury vet clinic. She is so kind and understanding and treats our kitties like family. There is no other vet I trust with our furbabies more. When my mom's kitten was sick we took him to Westbury as well. It turns out he had an infectious cyst that was making him deathly ill as a result from getting fixed before adoption through FRW spca. (Some sort of cross contamination and bacteria got into the wound). My little sister was devistated. Dr. Luce preformed surgery the very next morning and saved my mom's kittens life. Without it he would have surely died a painful death. Was it cheap? No. But neither was the care we received.... The pricing at Westbury is fair and well worth it. Dr. Luce saved Tux's life and in return my sister gets to have her bestfriend for many years to come. Read Less

I love this place. I have always taken my cats here. I am able to be fit in last minute when i have an emergency, they are always willing to help. The vets are so great with my cat, especially with multiple visits lately with his issues and are always helpful and walk me through optional procedures and what their opinion would be for taking the best route to not break the bank. Will keep coming back and recommending this place til the cows come home!!! My cat Squirt is also very thankful! Read Less

I have been going to Westbury Veterinary Clinic for over 20 with a minimum number of 30 cats per year and always satisfied with the services provided by the Haynes's. Since the new owner has taken over their prices have become ridiculous. One week I was charged $275 for an abscess. A month later I was charged $530 to lance an abscess. No blood work or tests. Just lance an abscess. A charge of $15 because I came in without an appointment. They suggested that I leave the cat so they could treat him later in the day. This earned me a "daily hospital" charge of $15. Double charged for "waste disposal fee" whatever that is. I immediately had my 30 cats' files sent to a different vet who has reasonable fees and a stable staff. I went to Westbury each month and each time there were new employees. That says a lot about the management of the practice that no employees stayed for longer than a month. I paid Westbury several (seven to ten) thousand dollars each year. I received no inquiry from Ms. Austin as to why a 20-year client would move to another vet. Obviously they have no concerns about losing my business. Now I'm sure their prices are going to increase due to lost income as reviews continue to be negative. If I could give a zero rating I would. Read Less

If I could give lower I would. These people misdiagnosed our beloved cat Oz who was almost 14. We started on the 8th of March with feeling a mass in his stomach and you could see it. Took him in and they said there were actually 3 and that they were 99% confident that they were abscess and gave him a shot of antibiotic and a shot of pain med then call them in a couple of weeks... make a long and very trying story short we called and went back a total of 3 times in 4 days, and each time he was worse. Finally the 3rd trip they gave us a piece of paper and said here is what we should do next IF HE ISN'T BETTER IN A COUPLE OF DAYS, Well folks on Monday we called 3 times only to be put off with waiting on the doc. We called Knightsville Vet Clinic and sadly our Oz was diagnosed inside of an hour with an aggressive form of cancer (lymphoma). His exam was hands on and biopsies of masses all over his body were performed and diagnosed onsite, I know there is medically nothing that could have been done for him but dam we sure would not have kept him with us while in so much pain for that long. And by the way,,, the so called pain med they gave us on the 3rd trip wasn't enough to even take the edge off. So from the 8th to the 13th he was in terrible pain and we didn't know as he just slept. Their response to all this when I called and spoke to a receptionist and then an office manager was... "our doc notes state it could be an abscess or cancer" . They never said that, when I asked why this wasn't on our release check out sheet they stated oh we don't put that on those forms. I am a cancer survivor x4 and I promise you that was our first question!!!! Please Please Please do your due diligence. Read Less

Above and Beyond:Our cat was starting to rapidly losing weight so we took him to a vet earlier in the week.  That vet gave our cat, standard shots and a checkup.A few days later, our cat was worse.  He seem weaker and not eating or drinking when we came home from work.  We checked around for a vet that was still open and found Westbury Vererinary Clinic.The vet office was booked but fit us in.  We were seen almost at the vet's office closing.  Dr. Sherri Turick, didn't rush though.  She was quite concerned with our cat's health.  Dr. Sherri thoroughly examined him and ran ultra-sound.  She was open late to begin with and stayed even later to do this.Viewing ultrasound, she suspected he had cancer.  She recommended an animal hospital for us to take him to for further test and treatments.  She forwarded the ultra-sound to them and updated the animal hospital on her findings.We took our cat to animal hospital.  He had cancer bad and his kidneys were old, failing.  They tried to save him but after a week, our cat past.Westbury Vet had followed up and found out about our cats passing.  Dr. Sherri Turick send a sympathy card with hand-written sympathy wishes from her and her staff.  We were so very touched with her going above and beyond what many doctors and vets do.  You can tell she really loves animals and it's not just a job to her.  We now take our other cats to her.  If you want someone who truly cares about your pet, we highly recommend Westbury Veterinary Clinic. If I could give TEN stars I would! Absolutely LOVE all the staff to pieces and am greatly appreciative of their extreme kindness and generosity. Unfortunately my first time going there was when my poor Reilly boy was extremely sick and his kidneys were failing so after going over all the options and blood work we decided it was best to let him cross over the rainbow bridge. I had never had to do this to one of my fur babies before but the Doc was very supportive and walked me through every step of the process. I chose to stay for the whole thing and wouldn't of had it any other way. They lite a candle and dimmed the lights allowing it to be a calm peaceful environment. Even tho my first trip here was unforgettably heartbreaking I will continue to use them over and over again as well as highly recommend them to anyone seeking urgent vet care or just amazing vet care in general. Thank you again I don't think words could ever express how truly grateful I am for that day. Read Less

I have been a repeat customer for many years and have had no complaints about the services I received. After today, I will no longer be a customer. I was not pleased with the amount that they charge for their services. I visited today with my elderly dog, as she had not been eating or drinking. I was shocked when I received the bill because they had performed some services that I did not authorize. I tried to bring this to their attention and discuss the price for this service. When I attempted to negotiate the price, even offering cash, they refused. While I admit fault in how I responded to them, I felt that they could have negotiated the price, as I have been there many times and have spent copious amounts of money. In the end, they were unwilling. I feel as though they do not honor repeat customers or even give consideration to customer loyalty. These are the reasons I will no longer visit them and will not recommend them to my friends and family. They are too expensive and it seems that they care about how much money they will make and not about the health or well-being of the animals or their owners. If the owners wish to speak to me about this issue, they can contact me at the number they have on file. Read Less

The staff was also wonderful in helping me sedate 5 cats for an 8 hour trip during the hurricane evacuation. I was in there about 3 or more months ago to get my dog a rabies shot and I had called and asked how much a 3year shot was and I also asked how much a 1 year shot was and I had said let me think about it. And so I had told her I wanted to do the 3 year. Well when I got there they always ask me what I'm there for before doing anything. Well they did not do it at that visit and I could not afford the 3yr and before I could say anything they had given it to her and made me pay for it when it was not what I could afford or was going to tell them to do!! It is always good to ask the client what they are there for before taking the dog back and just doing it. I was NOT happy at all!! Very pissed!! And so now every time I go there I ask them what they are going to do before they take my dog! (P.S I keep coming back because Dr.miller is always awesome!!!) Read Less

If your looking for a staff that cares about your pets welfare and truly makes me you feel comfortable then you've found the perfect office. There was a time when I brought my dog Shawnee in for a quick shot that the vet Tecs and vet were alerted to a very serious matter that thankfully saved my fur baby's life!! On top of that matter I had to go out of town and was called with updates on how she was doing! No one else who I would trust my fur babies care with then this office. I love this office. They take great care of my family pets. and they keep costs low-that is important especially when you have multiple pets. Everyone is friendly. But service is slow sometimes waiting a hour to be seen. And as someone mentioned below the front desk staff are sometimes slow to respond to you. I had been taking my dog to this vet for a couple of years until we had to move out of state. When I called to get the records as I could not locate mine, I was told by a very rude and young-sounding girl on the phone that they can not send the records to me,  that they could only fax them to another vet. Knowing that I would need something to show my landlord that my dog is current on her vaccinations, I asked the young girl about a turn around time on those records being faxed to my new clinic. She was so rude and said that she couldn't tell me about how long it would take to send the records, even after I explained why I needed them. Everything I asked her was met with sarcasm and a resounding, "No." She sounded so preoccupied with something other than our conversation and I had to keep repeating myself. When I told her that I had never had this much trouble before or experienced such rude and uncooperative behavior, she kind of chuckled and said, "Well, that's our policy ma'am.!" I think if a business prides itself on providing good customer service, it should be willing to provide a time frame in which a customer can expect to get their records and at least pretend to care about its customers. My dog can't even keep water down. He wont stop vomiting, shaking, ect. I called them, in fear that hes dying. Well, they put me on hold for 10 minutes after I told them it was a medical emergancy. Once I finally got ahold of a Vet; Dr. Austin I beleive, she informed me that I needed to bring him in. (I would have been there by know If I had the money) I was originally calling for help on how to aid him in this time. Well, she insisted that I found the money to bring him, even though I had explained to her that I only had 16$ in my account until Friday. She then proceeded to pitch me a VetPet Credit card, as it would be the only way for me to get him seen. This place only cares about the damn money, they couldn't care if it was an emergancy or not. I called back a few minutes later to switch the flea and tick medication to another brand that also repels mosquitoes only to find out they don't carry that particular brand, nor any other that deals with mosquitoes. I politely told the receptionist I would grab that brand somewhere else but I still wanted to pickup the other preventative medications, the receptionist then told me to hold only to come back and tell me they couldn't fill the heart worm medications for my cat and two dogs because they are due for an exam. I have been with Westbury's close to 15 years and in the past if our animals were due or over due for their exam they would still get us the medications knowing that when we could afford it our animals would be coming to Westbury's for their medical needs. Wish I could give it NEGATIVE STARS!We have been taking our dogs there for over 5 years. And Westbury's is not close to our home nor easy on our pocket book. One of my poor dogs is allergic to grass and chews her feet until they bleed, all day, every day. She has been on the same medication for it for 4 years now. We called in a refill, which keeps going up in price... but i digress, last week and they say it will be ready for pick-up the next day as usual. My wife goes out of her way to get the medicine the next day and they only give her a 4 day supply (we have always gotten a 21 day supply). She asked why only 4. They said that's all we can get until we pay to have a yearly exam!!! Why didn't anyone tell us that on the phone the day before? What if we did't have the money for all that within 4 days? Did I mention they are grossly expensive... way more than other vets! They are doing nothing but holding my dog's medicine hostage until I pay up!They could care less if my chihuahua chews her paws off!!! All they care about is $$$MONEY$$$! I clearly see now that they have absolutely NO compassion for animals. They would rather hold my dog's prescription hostage for hopes I fork over $ to them within 4 days, than to just ask me when would be convenient for me to schedule for my dogs annual check-up. Both my dogs are healthy, up to date on all their shots, we paid to have them microchipped, had teeth cleaned, etc.What's the moral of this story? Well I have an appointment for BOTH of my dogs to have an annual exam TOMORROW! Guess where... NOT AT WESTBURY'S!!! I promise that Westbury's will never get another penny from us, and I will gladly pass my 100% honest, first hand experience to anyone with a pet to deter them from that place. I've put up with the rude girls that answer the phones there for way too long anyway, and did I mention the high prices? So Westbury's did me a favor. Ever since we adopted our first two kittens we have been taking them to Dr. Turick at Westbury vet clinic. She is so kind and understanding and treats our kitties like family. There is no other vet I trust with our furbabies more. When my mom's kitten was sick we took him to Westbury as well. It turns out he had an infectious cyst that was making him deathly ill as a result from getting fixed before adoption through FRW spca. (Some sort of cross contamination and bacteria got into the wound). My little sister was devistated. Dr. Luce preformed surgery the very next morning and saved my mom's kittens life. Without it he would have surely died a painful death. Was it cheap? No. But neither was the care we received.... The pricing at Westbury is fair and well worth it. Dr. Luce saved Tux's life and in return my sister gets to have her bestfriend for many years to come. Read Less

I have been going to Westbury Veterinary Clinic for over 20 with a minimum number of 30 cats per year and always satisfied with the services provided by the Haynes's. Since the new owner has taken over their prices have become ridiculous. One week I was charged $275 for an abscess. A month later I was charged $530 to lance an abscess. No blood work or tests. Just lance an abscess. A charge of $15 because I came in without an appointment. They suggested that I leave the cat so they could treat him later in the day. This earned me a "daily hospital" charge of $15. Double charged for "waste disposal fee" whatever that is. I immediately had my 30 cats' files sent to a different vet who has reasonable fees and a stable staff. I went to Westbury each month and each time there were new employees. That says a lot about the management of the practice that no employees stayed for longer than a month. I paid Westbury several (seven to ten) thousand dollars each year. I received no inquiry from Ms. Austin as to why a 20-year client would move to another vet. Obviously they have no concerns about losing my business. Now I'm sure their prices are going to increase due to lost income as reviews continue to be negative. If I could give a zero rating I would. Read Less

If I could give lower I would. These people misdiagnosed our beloved cat Oz who was almost 14. We started on the 8th of March with feeling a mass in his stomach and you could see it. Took him in and they said there were actually 3 and that they were 99% confident that they were abscess and gave him a shot of antibiotic and a shot of pain med then call them in a couple of weeks... make a long and very trying story short we called and went back a total of 3 times in 4 days, and each time he was worse. Finally the 3rd trip they gave us a piece of paper and said here is what we should do next IF HE ISN'T BETTER IN A COUPLE OF DAYS, Well folks on Monday we called 3 times only to be put off with waiting on the doc. We called Knightsville Vet Clinic and sadly our Oz was diagnosed inside of an hour with an aggressive form of cancer (lymphoma). His exam was hands on and biopsies of masses all over his body were performed and diagnosed onsite, I know there is medically nothing that could have been done for him but dam we sure would not have kept him with us while in so much pain for that long. And by the way,,, the so called pain med they gave us on the 3rd trip wasn't enough to even take the edge off. So from the 8th to the 13th he was in terrible pain and we didn't know as he just slept. Their response to all this when I called and spoke to a receptionist and then an office manager was... "our doc notes state it could be an abscess or cancer" . They never said that, when I asked why this wasn't on our release check out sheet they stated oh we don't put that on those forms. Above and Beyond:Our cat was starting to rapidly losing weight so we took him to a vet earlier in the week.  That vet gave our cat, standard shots and a checkup.A few days later, our cat was worse.  He seem weaker and not eating or drinking when we came home from work.  We checked around for a vet that was still open and found Westbury Vererinary Clinic.The vet office was booked but fit us in.  We were seen almost at the vet's office closing.  Dr. Sherri Turick, didn't rush though.  She was quite concerned with our cat's health.  Dr. Sherri thoroughly examined him and ran ultra-sound.  She was open late to begin with and stayed even later to do this.Viewing ultrasound, she suspected he had cancer.  She recommended an animal hospital for us to take him to for further test and treatments.  She forwarded the ultra-sound to them and updated the animal hospital on her findings.We took our cat to animal hospital.  He had cancer bad and his kidneys were old, failing.  They tried to save him but after a week, our cat past.Westbury Vet had followed up and found out about our cats passing.  Dr. Sherri Turick send a sympathy card with hand-written sympathy wishes from her and her staff.  We were so very touched with her going above and beyond what many doctors and vets do.  You can tell she really loves animals and it's not just a job to her.  We now take our other cats to her.  If you want someone who truly cares about your pet, we highly recommend Westbury Veterinary Clinic. If I could give TEN stars I would! Absolutely LOVE all the staff to pieces and am greatly appreciative of their extreme kindness and generosity. Unfortunately my first time going there was when my poor Reilly boy was extremely sick and his kidneys were failing so after going over all the options and blood work we decided it was best to let him cross over the rainbow bridge. I had never had to do this to one of my fur babies before but the Doc was very supportive and walked me through every step of the process. I chose to stay for the whole thing and wouldn't of had it any other way. They lite a candle and dimmed the lights allowing it to be a calm peaceful environment. Even tho my first trip here was unforgettably heartbreaking I will continue to use them over and over again as well as highly recommend them to anyone seeking urgent vet care or just amazing vet care in general. I was not pleased with the amount that they charge for their services. I visited today with my elderly dog, as she had not been eating or drinking. I was shocked when I received the bill because they had performed some services that I did not authorize. I tried to bring this to their attention and discuss the price for this service. When I attempted to negotiate the price, even offering cash, they refused. While I admit fault in how I responded to them, I felt that they could have negotiated the price, as I have been there many times and have spent copious amounts of money. In the end, they were unwilling. I feel as though they do not honor repeat customers or even give consideration to customer loyalty. These are the reasons I will no longer visit them and will not recommend them to my friends and family. They are too expensive and it seems that they care about how much money they will make and not about the health or well-being of the animals or their owners. And so I had told her I wanted to do the 3 year. Well when I got there they always ask me what I'm there for before doing anything. Well they did not do it at that visit and I could not afford the 3yr and before I could say anything they had given it to her and made me pay for it when it was not what I could afford or was going to tell them to do!! It is always good to ask the client what they are there for before taking the dog back and just doing it. I was NOT happy at all!! Very pissed!! I had been taking my dog to this vet for a couple of years until we had to move out of state. When I called to get the records as I could not locate mine, I was told by a very rude and young-sounding girl on the phone that they can not send the records to me,  that they could only fax them to another vet. Knowing that I would need something to show my landlord that my dog is current on her vaccinations, I asked the young girl about a turn around time on those records being faxed to my new clinic. She was so rude and said that she couldn't tell me about how long it would take to send the records, even after I explained why I needed them. Everything I asked her was met with sarcasm and a resounding, "No." She sounded so preoccupied with something other than our conversation and I had to keep repeating myself. When I told her that I had never had this much trouble before or experienced such rude and uncooperative behavior, she kind of chuckled and said, "Well, that's our policy ma'am.!" I think if a business prides itself on providing good customer service, it should be willing to provide a time frame in which a customer can expect to get their records and at least pretend to care about its customers.
