I always enjoy taking my babies here for their vet care. Every member of staff is so nice and helpful as well. I usually go to Dr. Mauck, and he is always helpful with my questions and needs! Though the other vets are just as great when I can’t get in with Mauck. I recommend them to everyone I know, I know my pets are in great care, with decent prices as well!! They are really patient with our dog! Our dog is a rescue and we are rookie pet parents, so when we go to the vet things get a little crazy. Our dog is Soooooo nervous, but the staff is great and patient. It is easy to make appointments via the app, and the location is convenient. Read Less

Absolutely love. My sweet girl struggled with cancer in her old age and we delt with ruptured tumors and surgery; the staff was nothing but helpful, kind, and gentle. I was so scared for that surgery which ended up going better than I ever hoped with a speedy recovery that allowed my Mini to live out her last days happy and healthy. After her passing, they were kind and respectful with getting her ashes and sent the sweetest card that made me cry. I brought my baby in here. He wasn't a regular patient. He was very sick and I had to make the hardest decision of my life to end his suffering. The entire staff was so compassionate and Dr. Jacob took care of us. In the mail I received a laminated rainbow bridge with his paw print, and a small vial with his fur, along with a handwritten note from the doctor. Everyone there made a very hard decision a little easier. If you want your furbabies truly taken care of, I would definitely recommend them. We can't say enough about the wonderful experience we had at Baxter Veterinary Clinic. Our usual vet wasn't able to see our 7-year-old male German Shepherd for an infected paw until after the New Year (4 days away). We called BVC, they fit us in that Saturday morning and took us back to be seen within five minutes of arriving. The facility was inviting & cozy, the staff was helpful & friendly and Dr. Mauck was extremely thorough. Our pup is usually pretty anxious at the vet but he seemed at ease with Dr. Mauck and the techs. We were pleasantly surprised by the affordable pricing, as well. From the first visit I felt immediately comfortable with the professional care given to my 8 year old rescue/adopted pit bull. We see Dr. Carroll regularly, she's always patient, informative, and thorough. During an early detection of bladder cancer (due to Dr. Carroll's test recommendations) she also referred me to an oncologist whose care I feel equally comfortable with. Mabel (my dog) and I are always greeted with smiles by the staff at the front desk and the veterinary techs give her hugs as they see her, asking how she is. The office and exam rooms are consistently clean and orderly and I've never felt I had to pay for something that wasn't necessary. I feel very fortunate to have found Baxter Village and Dr. Carroll after having moved into the area a year and a half ago and highly recommend them to anyone. Read Less

Staff is great and very welcoming. They were extremely accomodating, They rescheduled my appointment when I got called into work and even have appointment times after 5pm, unlike most places, which I found amazing! I am definitely taking my cat there for as long as we live in Fort Mill! Read Less

From the minute I walked in the door with my very sick fur baby, the staff at Baxter Veterinary Clinic was welcoming, comforting, and reassuring. My Daria couldn't be saved, but I was allowed the time to say goodbye to her. My husband had to leave on a business trip, but the staff was kind enough to let me use their phone to talk with him and let him know what was going on. I was given time with Daria after the euthanization which I appreciate so very much. When I am ready to get another fur baby I will definitely use Baxter Veterinary Clinic. Daisy's first visit to the vet was spectacular!  I can't believe what a great job this sweet little girl did and what a positive experience it turned out to be.  I was really impressed by the excellent care we received at Baxter. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and welcoming.  I was so worried it would be a traumatic experience for Daisy but they made her feel so comfortable and safe through all the tests and procedures.  She didn't even cry when she got her shots!  They took great care of us as well by spending time explaining things, answering our millions of questions with thoughtful answers, and sent us home with some great resources.  I was happy but dreading the price I was expecting for such great service so I was shocked that it was just a fraction of that!  Affordability on top of the VIP treatment we'd just received was the icing on the cake.  Thanks, Baxter Vet Clinic! Dr. Doyle has taken my dog under his own care at his personal home, post surgery. That says a lot to me about my vet and doctor taking the absolute best care of my Quila. Having just moved here I needed to get my geriatric cat a yearly ultrasound. Just walking into this clinic I received attitude from the receptionist, which turned me off off to this place right away. After speaking with the Doctor I was completely done with this place. I have been in the Veterinary field for 20 years and made them well aware. I was spoken down to several times and there was absolutely no professional courtesy what so ever. They also tried to up sell  unnecessary products. We are new to the area, so I wanted to find a vet clinic for our dog BEFORE we had a need. I scheduled a visit and was able to meet with our new vet, and the rest of the staff. Very welcoming and accommodating . The other unexpected bonus was Baxter offers grooming. I scheduled a grooming appointment and have to say that my dog has NEVER looked better! Their knowledge is exceptional in veterinary care. Not only did they give us solid options for our aging doggie, but showed compassion and empathy. They walked us through every decision with care. When our doggie went to the Rainbow Bridge, not only did they take such phenomenal care of our little guy, but went the extra mile to take care of us. Hands down the best Bet Office EVER!! So lucky we found them when we moved from California. Our pups are a part of our family and very important to us. We are always treated with a smile when we walk in or a friendly voice on the phone. No matter watt we have come in for all of our concerns were addressed, and we felt we were given amazing service. I unfortunately had to say goodbye to my best friend earlier this year and all the girls and Docs at Baxter Vet made it as easy as possible. We brought our cat and dog here, and have left to pursue care under a vet that will not try to sell unnecessary follow ups, tests and treatments.  Customer service was terrible.  When promised a call back on our dogs initial cancer diagnose, we did not get an answer after two calls.  On the third day I called again and finally got an answer.  I was told it was  miscommunication, while the fact of the matter was that the Dr. had committed to look at the biopsy in office while the 2nd biopsy was being sent to the lab.  No one should have to wait to find out their dog is dying when a promise was made to callback the same day.  Additionally, when we were constantly hounded for follow up visits that were not necessary.  Our new vet took our cat off $50 cat food and provided us with a more effective and cheaper option.  Baxter Vet. Clinic was our worst vet. experience in over 30 years of pet ownership. Read Less

I took my dog in for surgery and less than 12 hours later she's dead. Now granted she was an old dog and if she'd died a month later I wouldn't be posting this. But AT NO TIME was I told "she's elderly, she might not survive this". But then why would they warn me? Then I might not ok the surgery and they don't collect $800. They did refund half of that. How kind of them after killing my dog. DO NOT USE THIS VET!! I was looking for another vet anyway cause of Baxter's outrageous fees but needless to say this seals it. They'll never see me again. I can't say enough good things about Baxter Vet, we have a lot of dogs, 6 right now and have had a few fosters hear and there and I think we have had 8 total dogs cared for by almost every doctor and employee, we have yet to find anyone who was not pleasant to work with, each person we have dealt with seemed like they love their job. I have never felt rushed, uninformed or uncomfortable. Upon arrival they greet you by name, as well as the pets name, the waiting room is large and has a lot of chairs, some product on shelves and some dog cookies! Now to pricing, I feel they are no more or no less than any other area vet, I haven't compared line for line on each visit but based on what I see advertised and what their charges are there isn't any noticeable difference , I also use the what I "wish" it would cost, you know like wanting a new Escalade for 20k, and then reality, it's never been to far from what I expected (reality not wish). They are very comprehensive and professional, they care about pets, a lot. One of our pets was very ill and was treated a few times, checked on twice a day until he recovered, a month or so afterward while out we ran into Dr Doyle, he made his way from the other side of the room just to come over and say hello and to check on how our dog had been doing, that's real proof of how they care, I don't think MY family physician would do anything similar.  Bottom line, skip the potentially poor service elsewhere and call and make your appointment, you'll be glad you did (and I know it will make you say, now I know that's why that review was so long) Read Less

I rescued a stray kitten. He was in rather rough and tattered condition. They helped him with all treatments, told me what to expect, and I am thrilled with the service. All the required treatments and medications I found to be rather in expensive. Highly recommend this clinic as a premier choice for pet care. Read Less

Being new in town and looking for a regular vet, I brought both my dogs here on separate occasions. Pro:-When I took my dog in to get treatment for a simple hot spot, Dr. Baete and her vet tech were kind and prescribed a topical spray that cleared up the hot spot quickly. Cons:-We were told to schedule a follow-up visit for the hot spot, which from experience I know is a bit excessive, as my previous vet would have been just fine picking up the phone to check on my dog rather than charge me for another visit. I have no problem paying for treatments (and my bank account can testify to that) but I also know that a good vet isn't going to charge me every time I want to talk to them.-When I took my arthritic dog to see Dr. Doyle, I didn't feel like he had anything new or helpful to offer. The whole appointment felt a bit rushed, and I felt he was very quick to speak on testing done by my dog's previous vets. Having tried at least four distinct treatment plans for my dog's arthritis over the last year, Dr. Doyle simply told me that they are all good ideas, and we started again at square one with Rimadyl. My dog had an adverse reaction to the drug within a few weeks, so I discontinued treatment and sought care at another vet. -They must have some deal with Trupanion, a pet insurance company, because in the month after my first visit I received several calls and emails from Trupanion. It was really annoying because to try to call them back and ask them to stop calling took a lot of time. I was never asked if I was okay with my info being given to this company.It wasn't so much my dog's adverse reaction that turned me off to this practice, as I know that the vet cannot guarantee how the drug is going to affect my dog. Ultimately, it was just the rushed and seemingly thoughtless care for a problem that we have clearly been working hard to find a solution to. I was looking for a vet who would listen, be careful in judgment and be willing to answer all my questions. I don't think that's too much to ask for, as I have found this kind of care elsewhere. Overall, my experience with and impression of Baxter is that it is competent practice but they failed to really wow me. On the other hand, the new vet we see is over-the-top amazing, and that's what I was looking for. Read Less

From the short visit that I had here today they were very friendly.  I had two puppies show up at my parents house so I took them here to get micro-chipped.  They were more than happy to do this for me.  They also let me purchase some flea medicine to get rid of the fleas that they have.  I will be bringing my pets here in the future.  The prices are a little bit high but if you get great service and you know your pet is in great hands you know it will be worth it! This clinic is terrific.  I was in the area visiting family and had to put my beloved 17-year old cat to sleep.  I was devastated and didn't know where to go.  I found the Baxter Veterinary Clinic and from the moment we walked in the door the entire staff was unbelievably compassionate.  Dr. Doyle was so kind and helped us get through the most difficult experience any pet owner can have.  I am so grateful to Baxter Veterinary Clinic and highly recommend them to everyone who wants the best care for their pet. We took our new 4 month old pup in for a check-up and schedule her spay. We are new to the area and were referred by a friend. Called on Monday and had an appt on Wednesday. The staff were very nice and the Dr. Was wonderful. I made a few requests during the exam due to her being a new pup, and they were very accomadating. The checkout process was great, the days visit and the scheduled spay costs were provided up front. The best part was her Frontline and heartworm meds were free on the first visit!! It gets better.. A week later our pup broke her tooth on her crate. Called and had an appointment at 10:30 am. She needed to be put under to remove the tooth. The Doc took her right then and called about an hour later to say he extracted the tooth and she was ready to be picked up. Again, it gets better.. The office provides all patients with a 30 day complimentary pet insurance plan. Well, we used it and the office sent the paperwork to the insurance company and they sent us a check 4 days later!I highly recommend this Vet.
