About once a month, this clinic takes walk-ins for your cat or dog to receive their shots: feline distemper, vaccinations, rabies, etc. It usually runs from 8 am to noon with maybe a 10 minute wait. I like coming here because the rates are pretty reasonable and you don't have to make any appointments. A lot of people work Monday through Friday, so coming here on Saturdays is beneficial to them. Dr Mike is the best vet I've ever encountered and was the best vet in this clinic til they got rid of him recently! Even more impressive, he saved my mom's dog's life. He had a very aggressive type of cancer and Dr Mike completely cured him. He's been cancer free for several years now!!! Dr Mike refused to nickle and dime his clients, and was the best vet there. He is the victim of a bunch of jealous female colleagues who couldn't stand his greater success, so they shoved him... out the door and are lying to his clients claiming he just up and left. As if that isn't enough, they are also trying to ruin his reputation saying horrible things about him that are not true! With so many vets, its all about money and Dr Mike was the only one at Sioux Nation who didn't fit that description! Our cat. was transferred over from All City Hospital as he is a regular at S.Nation. He went in for vomiting blood after he couldn't get an appointment sooner than 3 days out. I gave up and drove him to the hospital where he had an ulcer due to his hyperthyroidism acting up. Sioux Nation said they wanted to test his thyroid and stated the lab was $52 and when I ...called to check on him they said it was $150! I asked why it was different and they said he had a full panel of labs done not just the one I approved for them to do. They refused to change the price to the quoted $52 and also ran other tests I didn't approve and specifically asked to be called when the Dr came in to check him before treating so I could be sure of the costs. They treated and ran more tests and I wasn't able to decide anything, just expected to pay all the costs. On top of this they pulled his IV out early due to injuring his paw. The claimed All City didn't put his IV in right and it was a result but he was there for 12 hours fine, we checked on him personally 3 times and my fiance picked him up fine. In their care his paw swelled up three times (their words) the size from cut off circulation. He was in pain and unhappy trying to walk with it. I was told his IV was in until 7 PM and they said they pulled it early due to it not working after cutting the tape loose. My cat left more wounded then when he went in and he didn't get all his medicine due to his IV being taken out early...so I had to take him home and treat him myself. No education on how to was given but they took my money quick. Horrible experience, they call it miscommunication. They could have avoided all this if they would have listened to how urgent he needed to be seen. $550 later in bills now, and I am treating him we call it carelessness and robbery. A few weeks ago, I would have given this clinic 5 stars. We had the best vet ever. And then someone at Sioux Nation decided to fire him and then lie and say he just up and left. Dr. Mike gave his cell number to all of his clients and he would answer any text we sent, even when he didn't have to, like New Year's Eve. We KNOW he didn't just up and leave! I am still very much in shock to learn that Dr. Mike McIntyre was forced out of this clinic. He was the only vet that I trusted to take care of my animals for years. Our cats would not be with us had it not been for Dr. Mike and his willingness to go above and beyond. How can a clinic force the best vet they had out. This is horrible. To the many clients who adored Dr. Mike like we did, make your opinions known. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !! I've been with Sioux nation for many years . As well asmy mother has took my childhood dog here before she passed away . UNFORTUNATELY this last experience with Sioux nation was horrible . The newer receptionist that I've never seen before was being rude and very inconderate . Do to the fact the that was no reassurance in a time frame . Left my cat there for over 4 hours with and infection in and around his mouth . I called in with question regarding ...my 5 year old cat ,after the 4 hr mark and she said " He won't let me near him , touch or even look at his mouth " .. Almost referring to my cat ( mr.theo ) that he was being aggressive to the point were you can't even go near him? Yeah right.. At this point I just said never mind I will pick him soon an take him somewhere that will actually be able to take care of him .. I've brought both my felines here. One being 11, the other is 5 months. They diagnosed my eldest with a urinary disorder. It took many tests, some that they had to do over they did not charge me for! Imagine a vet that actually cares enough to continue retesting until the find the answer! I couldn't believe their generosity. My kitten was neutered there as well, dropped him off at 8am and picked him up at 3pm, the same day! They are the best vets in town and their staff is so friendly. Dr. Mike saved my cat's life. She was given a diagnosis at another clinic for Cushing's disease. My co worker suggested I get a second opinion and recommended Dr. Mike. He specializes in glandular issues. I am so glad I did just that. I didn't think my cat had that disease. Surgery to remove her adrenal glands would have been devastating by anything I read on-line. Dr. Mike confirmed my belief that she was fine. Turns out she had a raging bladder infection my former vet somehow missed. I find the prices reasonable and Dr. Mike has helped me out when exams would have been ruinous to my checking account. Thank you! The medicines given are much easier on a cat owner. My previous vet would only prescribe liquid antibiotics that never worked. I begged him for a shot because weeks of liquids going into a cat is pure torture for us both. Dr. Mike gave my cats an antibiotic shot that lasts 14 days. It is highly effective every time. I found exams easy to schedule and I love the text reminder. I have gotten in to see the Doctor in about half the wait time of my previous vet. Dr. Mike takes the time to ask if I have any other questions or concerns which is in stark contrast to my last vet who barely talked to me at all. I am still floored when he takes extra time and actually calls me on the phone directly to talk about my issues. Thank you for that! The staff is friendly and helpful. There is no waiting to get into an exam room when I walk in and no waiting when I leave. This is a big thing with a scared cat exposed to people and noise she isn't used too. I appreciate that! Thank you! I found the waiting room spacious and clean as were the exam rooms. My only wish is that the clinic would ask dog owners would keep their animals on a regular leash. I have 1 dog who has been a patient at Sioux Nation for some years, for his shots and groomings, he has always been well taken care of by the staff, and now I have a new addition of a small female cat who was just spayed and given her first rabies/distemper shot. I started going to Sioux Nation when we got a new Miniature Dachshund a couple years ago. She had an eye ulcer, and Dr. Beth checked her 1-2 times per week until it was healed. We first went to Sioux Nation a little over a year ago. They are always very kind and accommodating to us and our Great Dane. Dr. Mike is very knowledgable and we appreciate his easy going attitude and willingness to answer our questions. We recently had to put our 17 year old cat down, and they made the process very easy for us. They provided us with a print of our cat's paw, and even sent us a card with personal messages written inside. Above and beyond what we expected! I adopted my cat from the Brookings Humane Society back in November, and yesterday I had to take her back to a vet to have her re-declawed because Michelle Blaha did her declaw and screwed up. She did the declaw when my cat was 3 YEARS OLD! You don't declaw a cat when they aren't a kitten! My cat is in an intense amount of pain for the second time and I am NOT happy. Her claw grew back a 1/4 inch and curled into her paw pad, so she no longer has the majority of her toe. Thankful the vet here was able to fix Blaha's mistake. Read Less

Today I had to take our ten year old Bassett Hound to the vet due to a nasty looking sore on his outer ear. Sioux Nation got him an appointment for the same day. When we got to the patient room, the nurse informed me that Dr. Beth was running a little behind due to an emergency surgery but she would be right in afterwards. I really appreciated the nurses giving me updates so I knew why I was waiting longer than usual. Dr. Beth was extremely through with our furbabies diagnosis and made sure to prescribe the most effective antibiotic for his issue. She has a wonderful bedside manner as well.... both my dog and cat love her! She also take the time to explain what is going on with your pet in "normal" terms without speaking down to you. Other vets I've been to would have glanced at the ear, prescribed a full spectrum antibiotic that may not work and send us out. I appreciate every single person working there.. they are kind and gentle souls who truly love the animals they help! I have a young female boxer who always seemed to have something wrong. Dr. Beth was patient and asked for my input on figuring out step by step what we should do and she was right on about diagnosing my dog's issues. My boxer had a low thyroid level and was losing her hair which she prescibed a supplement for. Her hair is back and she is doing well. She also noticed crystals in her urine and prescribed a Royal Canin food and she is doing so well after being on it for a few months. I have my dog back! We took our dogs to a complete other vet! Seizure after seizure he kept talking me into ,. More meds and more meds! I called Sioux nation,. And the vet there. Called me after hours and we talke for 20 minutes,. Even though I have never been there! We took her in today,. To put her to sleep! The staff. And the vet showed us so much compassion ,. After we got our recent dog about a month ago we brought him to Sioux Nation b/c that is where his prior owner took him. We had him fixed and I asked them to look at his teeth b/c they looked very wore down, they said he looked good and surgery went well... well 2 1/2 weeks later we bring him to our normal vet to be groomed and have a well check. Our normal vet told us his big k9 teeth had broken off at some point quite a while ago and that a few of his back molars were missing as well or broken, the prior owner didn't know about the broken teeth either... Very upset that this went without being addressed even after I point blank asked it to be checked who know's how long he has been in pain from this... will not be coming back! Read Less

I took my dog to Dr. Mike for the first time. He was very thorough in checking my dog over and took his time in telling me what needed to be done. Family pet had her first visit today.  I was early for the appointment, but they got me in right away.  Dr. Stangohr took the time and looked over all my dogs paperwork.  She made sure I understood everything.  The meds our dog received were cheaper or just as cheap as I could get online.  Staff was great they truly do care. Dr. Mike McIntyre needs to be a lot more careful. My dog is 88lbs and he would pick him up and put him on the examining table instead of bending down to examine him like every other vet we've seen, this would make my dog very uncomfortable and scared. Once I came to pick him up from surgery and his anesthesia hadn't even worn off, he was very out of it and dribbling pee in the lobby. This Dr thought it was a good idea to give my dog loumistine (chemo) for a non life threatening tumor that he already removed. He assured me this was best and that chemo doesn't effect dogs like it does people so there wont be side effects. OMG I've never seen my dog so sick before the day after giving him his first and LAST chemo pill. He didn't get off the couch to relieve himself, eat, drink for 2 days. It was completely inapropriate to give him chemo. I'd like to see that DR take a loumastine and tell me how he feels. I poisoned my dog for nothing and he wanted to do this to him for 6 months. Well its been almost 3 yrs and my dog is doing great no thanks to him. I know that if I would've kept following his advise he would've killed my dog. He also wanted my dog to take rimydal every day for the rest of his life, he was only 8 at this time. After the chemo incident I found a holistic vet who advised me to change his diet, take out the carbs to help prevent cancer. Doing this (I now feed raw) it cured his stiffness so he didn't even need pain meds and still doesn't. Here we are almost 3 yrs later and not taking drugs he moves better than he did then. I could only imagine the problems my boy would've had with his liver by now had I continued the pain meds. I flushed the chemo from his system with wheatgrass juice, gave him colostrum and probiotics to help heal the damage to his intestines from the chemo. This was a huge lesson for me that just because someone wears a white coat doesn't mean they wont harm your pet or know what's best for them either. Read Less
